Will be a first time for me doing this and have no idea what the possible strategies are? Spread the points around or go for a few 8/9 point stars and loads of 3 and 4s?

The key is to get the big scoring low value players, and to make transfers at the right time.

Bowlers who can bat and batsmen who bowl are the men to spot.

OK, well I will try and evolve my team towards that goal. I may need to pay much greater attention to county cricket this season. I suppose that if I don't get a job I will at least have the time! Is there any danger of your three teams and my one being joined by any others? What happened last year? No doubt there is a thread.

Am I right in thinking that only games between first-class counties count?

If I get time I'll be in. Need to improve my woeful lack of knowledge of county cricket from recent years. Haven't even been to a match in three years.

Jimbee and The H normally join in, and a couple of others have been known to enter teams.

You are allowed unlimited transfers until May 3 so if someone starts exceptionally, or exceptionally badly, you can alter your team.

no, i think Surrey's games count too :sorted:
You may take the nocoat if you like, but (a) Surrey should do well this season as they are in the lower division and (b) I seem to have chosen a Middlestump player in my XI.

Have entered previous years but probably too much hassle this year: the site is blocked at work (gambling!) and internet link at home is down, and not sure if I can be bothered to keep finding internet cafes to make the transfers you need to make... think they're more important in cricket than in the football version

Trying to make sense of some of the prices. Some players look very cheap, others ridiculously expensive. Is there any value in the international players, or will they miss too much county cricket?

I'll be in it again, if I could ever remember to make transfers I might actually do something in this for a change.

Personally, I steer clear of most of the low value internationals. Some of the ratings do seem a bit odd. Some good low value bowlers available though. :)

Only county gamescount so the international players are pretty much useless.

The only value is finding an international player who won't be playing internationals, if that makes sense  or those who are using county games to find fitness, Vaughan could be very useful come June.

I've entered a second team, my third team is in a different Super League.

Stedders Brown Caps is a quick "back of the fag packet" team.
Stedders Starlets is a bit risky, predominately young players who I reckon are stars for the future. Half the team being 23 or younger.

Cricket hasn't woken up to the internet yet. Even the BBC's guide is poor.

If this is what I can expect being part of this I might just turn up at the end of the season and see where I finish.

Decided that if others have three teams in this, so should I. So SACRED COW and HOGGY IS A DOGGY have entered the fray to join MUMBAI WAVE.
