Can anyone give the individual match prices of the above @Brentford_till_die ?Intrigued as did Railway Lounge for Oldham game as it was cheap, but really not sure it’s that special, anything over a 50% markup on south stand would feel too much. Nice place to sit and have a drink, great view in a padded chair (prob best I’ve had at a game).
This thread is about away fans being welcomed by the club with open arms into lounges in the South (and home) Stand, causing aggro and then Brentford fans being ejected from their own stadium if they react.

You’re free to start a new thread about how nice the padded seats are should you wish, but please leave this one to continue to be about the latest insult/fiasco directed at Brentford supporters, in a long line of insults/fiascos this season.

Thanks Hobbsy. That must have changed as I have been sending and receiving emails from Shinead with .co.uk recently.
It's a Kurt "improvement". .co.uk wasn't big enough for him.

Many apologies. Someone posted the away lounges details, some of us peasants don’t know how many they are never mind how they work. I asked the price as it is relevant to how much the club are prioritising money over home fans enjoyment. 🤷‍♂️

So you mean the "Football a la Brentford" experience isn't an entirely positive one?

Often when people change email address they set up an auto-forward from the old one to the new one.

That tag line is soooooo 2020 - the new one is about how Brentford doing things differently. In this case, that means making sure away fans are warmly welcomed into the home areas, and that their ‘match day experience’ is protected at all costs. if Brentford fans need to be binned so as not to spoil the away fans day so be it.

The situation is such a freakin’ shambles that those responsible should be

Thanks for that. I’ll send it again with .com just to be sure.

I’ve not received any replies yet. Shinead was very quick to respond last time. I would imagine after their meeting with Bias and possibly more internal meetings, and I would hope there would be. As there at least 10 people I know that have emailed in and hopefully countless others, so that response may not come for a couple of days. They really have to sort out this crap out properly once and for all, and I’m not sure how long that will take.

It's all good. They have until 12th Feb, then Palace roll into town.

I think a sense of proportion is needed. The idea that the Legends lounge is ‘infested’ with Away fans is OTT IMHO. It is true that there were some Wolves giving it large in the stands, but any suggestion that the lounge was taken over by Black Country yobs singing songs about Steve Bull and Derek Dougan is wide of the mark.
The point is that when I have paid extra for a seat and Legends lounge, called the Red and Whites, I don’t expect to have some Midlands gobshite just a few yards away, standing up yelling for Wolves, manically cheering when they score, abusing our team, and basically disrupting my enjoyment of the game, when I had been sold the idea that this area was exclusively for Brentford fans.

Whether it’s 1 or 100 away fans, overtly offering their support, then it’s at least 1 too many!

If I had been told at the outset, that you’ll have to put up with away fans sitting close by in the same lounge seat area, then do you think Brentford FC would have sold 1 single premium price seat?!

No, all this is deceptive by the club.

Already this is disruptive, and when a Brentford fan had had enough of the Wolves fan, and confronted him, it was the Brentford fan who got ejected!
Where is the justice in that?

Back in the day, I can recall overt Cardiff City fans, and even Bradford City fans being straightforwardly ejected from Braemar Road, because they were openly supporting these clubs.

If we were planning to make the BFC a fortress, then the way home fans are being treated, it’s quickly becoming more like a sand castle!

My views as well. I’ve told the club that if it continues I’ll consider asking for a full or partial refund of my £700 deposit for 5 years usage of the Legends. At the moment I feel I’ve been conned.

This is all very simple.

The vast majority of people going to BFC are the fans, whom the club needs to keep for the longer term, by keeping them happy, and treating them as top priority.

It doesn’t matter one jot if any away fan is not allowed into the dedicated Brentford lounges, as you’ll only ever see them once a year at best!
They have got a large area in one corner of the ground, and if any of them want an expensive burger and more padded seat, then find a way to create a separate lounge for them, or just don’t bother.

So come on, Mr Varney & co., stop posturing and put this right now.

It’s not exactly a big issue to put Brentford fans first, and if many are saying away fans in Brentford areas is being disruptive, and potentially moving towards being physically confrontational, then listen to what you are being told!

I am composing a long message to the club, which includes the fact that I have been mis-sold my seat, and that the club is already in breach of its contract terms regarding that seat.

So which is it to be Brentford FC, satisfying a few away fans, or looking after your long-term supporters, who’ve paid good money not just for one game, but for every game?!

This seems a right shambles to me. If away fans are to be in the hospitality/posh seats then they should respect where they are. Overtly celebrating etc should mean an instant removal.

From the clubs point of view they want to sell all the seats in this area. But to be honest these stories are putting myself, and likely other Bees, off from purchasing these seats as we know it won't be enjoyable. For the price you have to pay enjoyment is the very basic of expectations.

JV probably looking for Kurt’s book of business b/s to create a stock reply and statement.

Is there any CCTV in the lounges, there must be some facing he South stand, some quick replays after the Wolves goals should show the numptys celebrating.

I was told there is CCTV in the Legends I can’t say about others.

Not wanting to be pedantic, but shouldn't the thread title be:

"Away Fans in Lounges"

A subtle, but important distinction IMHO, which more clearly articulates the issue.

(As there are no "Away Lounges" as far as I know - Or "Home" ones for that matter it would appear...... unfortunately.....😐)

Can I urge any “proper Brentford”not to confront any away fans, and heaven forbid getting into a physical fight with away fans no matter how they behave or take the piss. If you do you will be labelled as B.Y.E neo-nazi blood thirsty loon. Pictures of you will be put on this sight and forget your career that will be in tatters. Other than that In joy the padded seat and watch the game.👍

Sorry.
Are you saying there are separate Lounges for Home and Away fans?
Or that there should be?
I the think the gag is that away fans have been made to feel so welcome in the lounges (even at the expense of Bees fans) that they might as well be called ‘away lounges.’

Tried to book it for a work meeting, request got forwarded to catering who have so far not bothered to respond - two weeks ago that was. Perhaps I should have gone under the guise of supporting another team to be given the courtesy of a response.

Of course in hindsight what you should have said is:
Me and my Crystal Palace mates are having a get together on the 12th of February, any chance that we could meet up in one of your lounges, and pi55 the locals off while we're being generally obnoxious!
You'd have got a swift response, and be welcomed with open arms!!

If you don't complain the club will see it as a walkover and let it happen again. If nothing changes then I suggest you give them good reason for chucking you out, but I'm not suggesting you chin the f***er.:sneakoff:

Indeed. To the point that they can shout, be abusive and threaten Bees fans. When bees fans complain to the Stewards about it, they themselves are threatened with ejection from what should be a home fan only area. One fan was at the Wolves game and another threatened with ejection. You just couldn’t make it up.

It ain’t right squire…I’d be in exactly the same position if I sat in that stand…thank feck any aways (if there are any) don’t feel they can let themselves be known as there’s plenty of chaps in the NS who would do the same as you did…email the club and tell em exactly what happened as things need to change in the south and east stands and fast before it gets even worse 🤮👍

Yes, You should definitely complain about your treatment, If you don't all of the problems with away supporters will not stop and could even escalate, We are all hearing and seeing the extreme treatment our supporters are being subjected to when talking/confronting the security staff with regards to away supporters in the home area kicking off and celebrating when they score, The plain fact is they should only be in the away supporters section and be removed from all other parts of the ground if causing any problem at all.

The trouble is our supporters are seen as soft targets and easy to solve and eject from the ground due to the fact they want to come and see every game so therefore they don't remonstrate to much, On the other hand away supporters couldn't really be cared what happens to them as they are only here the once, I think our marshals are weak and very poorly trained, so much so I don't think they want to get into any form of discussion/confrontation with the away supporters due to the fact the guilty person is usually surrounded by his mates who will then kick off wholesale, So it seems the mindset and easy option is to sling the Brentford supporter out regardless .

Our head of security should be retraining his match day marshals to take immediate strong action against all misbehaving away supporters, If he/she is unprepared to get them to take action against poorly behave away supporters then I'm afraid they are in the wrong job and need replacing ASAP.

Agree with all of this.

But what, out of interest, gives you confidence that the head of match day security is up to the job, given what’s been going on for weeks/months on his watch and with his staff?

Consulting my book (‘Hat’s Guide To Brentford’s Off-Field sh*tshow Vol.769’), I’ve also got him down as being ready to expand his CV and experience and take on new, exciting challenges elsewhere 🤓

Not only is it wrong to complain about away fans in the lounges . The same goes to complaint about the away teams benches , stewards are only keen on keeping Brentford fans quite or getting the ejected

Playing devil's advocate here, if the CEO has driven through a policy of saying away fans are allowed in home lounges and they are not to be ejected, then what can that person though but carry out his wishes?

The key issue here is that away fans are allowed to purchase tickets for these areas, which was not mentioned to Brentford fans when they signed up to five-year handcuff deals.

In short: they've closed the loophole allowing away fans to purchase the tickets, the club is reviewing their procedures, and PSTHs who transfer to away fans who misbehave are likely to have the seat suspended. At least some prompt progress; fair play.

Following the email which I sent on 14 January, sadly I must again address the issue of away fans being present in certain areas within the stadium which raised its head during the game against Wolves.

At the weekend, this was a problem, particularly in the Legends Lounge. I have read numerous accounts of what happened and have conducted a thorough debrief with Club staff. Based on that, I appreciate the need for the Club to take further steps as a matter of urgency, which I want to outline in this email. All of these points will be kept under constant review and may be subject to further changes if required.

First of all, we have reviewed our sales process for Premium Seat bookings. Following this review, I can confirm we have identified a very small number of bookings for future home matches that may have resulted in suspected away fans attending games, these have now been cancelled.

In the spirit of openness, as part of that process we did identify that our own internal checks on who had purchased Premium Seats for the Wolves match were not robust enough and clearly a small number of away fans managed to acquire tickets in the Legends Lounge. We sincerely apologise for this and any aggravation which resulted. This loophole has now been closed.

We are also investigating a number of Premium Seat Holders who we believe either purchased guest tickets or passed their own tickets to away fans who subsequently behaved in an irresponsible manner at the game. We expect this to result in some Premium Seats being suspended and will be notifying these Premium Seat Holders in the coming days.

A detailed review will also be undertaken of every Premium Seat Holder’s attendance and ticket transfer activity to identify any suspicious patterns or behaviour. If we believe Premium Seats have been carelessly passed on to away supporters, or transferred to secondary market sites, we will not hesitate in suspending the Premium Seat Holder’s account.

As per my previous email, it is important to acknowledge that in certain areas of the South Stand, there will be guests at the game who aren’t ardent Bees fans. We are duty bound to provide a number of hospitality tickets to the visiting club and other stakeholders and we have mentioned before that Club and Premier League partners have the right to also invite guests. We will ensure that all these parties are aware of the standards we expect from them, and I can confirm that as part of this process we will immediately relocate any of their hospitality allocations away from the Legends, Orchard and Railway Lounges to minimise the impact on home fans.

I can also confirm that additional stewards will be assigned to monitor and address any issues on matchday and it is therefore important to make it clear that you should not take matters into your own hands. If you see an issue, please report it immediately to stewards, who will be briefed on this updated policy. We acknowledge that our stewarding response has not been strong or quick enough and will be making every effort to rectify this.

I know that the vast majority of you do not transfer your tickets, but for those who do, it is worth me reiterating that those guests are your responsibility. Any inappropriate behaviour at the game could ultimately lead to the associated Premium Seat Holder losing their seat and the rights that go with it.

If anyone is not happy with any of the above points and wishes to discuss a refund, please get in touch with our Premium Services team.

I appreciate that tensions are running high over this issue. You have my commitment that we will do everything we can to fix it and make the Brentford Community Stadium the home we all want it to be. Your support and patience during our first season in our new home whilst we rectify this matter is greatly appreciated.

If you have any issues or questions with any of the above, then please discuss with the Premium Services team on 020 8380 9930 or email premiumseating@brentfordfc.com.
Best wishes,

"Suspected" away fans - it had "away fan" in the drop down list on our website when making a purchasing enquiry!

Also, the "We are duty bound to provide a number of hospitality tickets to the visiting club" is disingenuous. This is for visiting directors etc and not general away punters.

What annoys me about this is the continual inference to home fans passing on seats when it's the club's policy that has created this mess in the first place.

^This.

Just this. Just f***ing this.

Any news on Coffee Boy and his antics? Presumably he’s been banned now, in line with this new policy?

I see the drop down menu on register for interest still has the option for away team supported. One would like to think this is going to remain just to trip up the thicker away fans who then won't be successful in their application. However based on previous, we should remain sceptical about that

They will surely take that part of the website down and rework it….. won’t they.

Received this JV message direct.
I trust they have briefed the stewards on "this updated policy”, because the very next time I hear someone shouting near my seat.
"Come on you f***ers", whichever away team that is, I will politely ask the nearest steward to throw them out.

So let’s see whether the policy is now followed up with action.

On the credit side, at least the problem has been acknowledged, and a response has been made quickly.

This does illustrate the importance of fans raising real issues quickly, and furthermore, directly to the top level!

As another example of this, I made an earlier complaint, as with probably many others, the club has already reduced the price of food choices in the Legends, from everything being over £10, to most being below that.

Fair play to Mr Varney for responding and taking action. A few loose ends to tie up (the website, Coffee Boy) but this is a good step forward to address entirely reasonable objections to this fiasco.
