It's a good letter but don't think there are any realistic answers that will satisfy him. Unglamorous League One Clubs that can't afford their running costs. We're all doomed without new stadia and Mr Benhams. Maybe a couple of seasons in League Two would bring back some perspective.

When I look at the league table, I always think Walsall are doing remarkably well considering their size, location and lack of investment.

After being charged 82 quid for 2 adults and 3 kids at Walsall a few weeks back, I also wrote to Roy. Guess what, he did not respond.

I think alot of clubs would prefer to be run like Walsall at the moment, they might not win anything for a few seasons but at least they'll still be there in a 10 years. That said it's a sh*t stadium in a pretty horrible place and I'd have reservations about getting a season ticket if you know you won't have anything to play for by November.

With the exception of not owning your own ground which is dangerous position to be in.
Although we have the backing of MB now, without the collateral of GP in the past we would have gone under years ago (which was Ron's dream no doubt). So I suspect there is worry of overspending at Walsall which could leave them up sh*t creek.
It would be interesting to see what their playing budget is, IIRC ours if £1.8m including the MB money and was £1.3M last year.

I think compared to the rest of the League we have done very well. Considering that Southampton spent more than our entire playing budget on transfer fees for two players (Lambert and Fonte) it shows that financially we can't compete.

Yes I agree, also I wonder how many fans know what their clubs playing budget is and what the state of their finances is?
This is where we are at an advantage with Bees United plus people like abee and Bee H we have access to figures that other clubs fans don't have without trawling through the audited accounts at the end of the year.
Personally I think, commercial confidence aside, that all clubs should provide information on their finances and have it easily accessible for fans.
A lot of club's Walsall's size would kill for mid-table security in League One. This geezer seems to want the instant success which comes hand in hand with the boom and bust attitude in the game these days.Also, between 1998-2004, they only had one season outside of the Championship, which was a play-off winning campaign in League One, so I wouldn't say life has been as dull up there as this bloke thinks.

did hear a rumour from a walsall mate that as soon as they are safe from relegation points wise that administration might be entered, dont think the finances are as ok as they might seem.
