Probably me missing something, but how do I react to a post with anything other than a (y) ("Like")?
Hover on the react button and then select from the options that appear above. Requires moderately advanced mouse skills.

OK thanks.
I'm using a phone, so using your advice and the post from @Alex above, it looks like I need to hold the "react" button, and I get a choice of 6 emojis?

In the ‘new posts’ section (on mobile) is it possible to see the author of the most recent post rather than the thread starter? This will often determine whether I’m likely to take a look, or not 😂

Yes, I was wondering this too. Sure that's how it was on the previous site.

Although I *think* you can tell who made the most recent post if you recognise their avatar to the left of the new posts section?

One other thing from me - is it possible to have more than 20 posts to a page? I can’t see this in settings and did prefer the option in the old GPG to have 50 posts per page.

Cheers.

Awesome, but where do I change this setting, please?
My profile had been updated and every thread had 50 posts without actually doing anything. I assume Les waved his magic mod wand and sorted it.

That being said, I couldn’t see any way of manually changing this in settings even after Les had updated me.

This thread is a geeks heaven🥬 ! 🍌💔👺👂😉🤬😳😥

I miss the days where you just used to turn up with your post at five to three and just submit it. No post access reaction points and shiny new home page nonsense just a good old fashioned load of text with a few other hardy likeminded souls

[Closed] Different styles applied to different devices Update - I think we are going to have to live with switching themes as necessary.

On the old forum this was provided by an add-on that detected the device then applied a theme. I'm not sure it ever worked as intended as on (say) a large iPad it would always insist on providing the Mobile style.

On this forum, the same style renders differently depending on the device. So why is this feature needed? Is it to have dark on one, and light on another?

Not exactly. The style changes all UIs when applied so if you prefer a Dark scheme, you have that option but it will be on all devices.

I think we are saying the same thing. I meant to ask: Is this CR to have (e.g.) "GPG Default" on one device, and "GPG Dark" on another device for the same user?

If the answer is in the affirmative then reject under Reason "🤪"

No, that won't happen permanently. The last selected style from any device will be applied on refresh.

Thanks but How and where do I get that screen dump you show.
It saves the post you are writing as a draft, which it keeps for an hour. If you want to Delete the draft, in the quick reply box when you type your message you will see a "File" icon (a floppy disk). If you click on the down arrow next to it, there is an option to Delete draft.

Sorry, what are you talking about? If you have a problem, it helps if you're specific about what is happening.

There's a feature available to mods to prevent a poster continuing to participate in a thread if they continue to be a PITA. Great new feature 😎

I was after this. Wanted the Work style on my work laptop and one of the others on my mobile, for example.

Just wondering if there will be a VPN forum again? Found it really useful last year and could be again this season!

Probably not. Unfortunately the subject matter under discussion isn't something that we should be hosting...

Is there no longer a 'View first unread' option?

Why is it that when I reply to a post with a quote, my first letter always comes up as lower case?

if you type up here it seems lower right next to the QUOTE tag

But start a new line and should be upper
