Posted on Ogbene thread yesterday but because it had been a long time since the previous post, it was suggested I might like to start a new thread. I reported this, and in the reply, it implied I should have allowed the post to stand. However the thread did not automatically transfer to the 'live' thread section. I therefore started a new thread with a similar post. Should my original post have actually switched the thread from 'archived' to 'current'. I think WP dealt with it as a Moderator.

I assumed it would give a message that you could just click through and ignore - a warning only. I'll try myself. Certainly don't think it will do anything clever about transferring posts.

Oh and I did it, not that lazy git WP........ V😉

I tested this and apart from a banner message saying that nobody has posted for 500 days (changed from 200 days), I was allowed to post without any restrictions. That's as I expected and don't think anything needs to change.

Finding members. Any chance of grouping them up by being able to click on 1st letter of username again
I agree, it's particular useless as it is. However we normally have to put up with what we are given as this is a 3rd party product
Nothing out of the box unfortunately so I will look on forums to see if somebody has been able to do this.

Thanks, appreciate it.
I like the username find search box. Maybe as you enter characters, it comes back with everyone beginning with that and those letters, as opposed to having to put the whole username in.

Yeah we know. Trouble is then that would require a new "results" screen that would display the list of contenders; with pagination; then a means of selecting the one you want and then you see the screen of the user you want just as you do now.

The extra screen is the problem. Not the query.

It does but it looks as though that matching doesn't start until about 3 letters in.

Dead grateful for one bit of advice; how do I change my settings/account so that the most recent post appears first on the current page; and the oldest post at the bottom?

Other than that the new GPG is great; very grateful.

You can't, this software doesn't allow for that sadly.

That was the rule on the old GPG, I used to just ignore it, as my post seemed relevant to that thread.

Maybe I should be more careful or less over-fastidious , but maybe a bit more time to edit posts could be nice?

It's been 10 minutes forever. Difficulty with leaving it longer is people may change the context based on replies or some external event.

Indeed, it was "forever" back in about 2001. The place made no sense after everyone edited their Saturday Night posts 😃

Is there a 10mb file size limit? Trying to upload two gif's, one is 7, one is 13, and I'm getting errors for the second... Can it be raised to 15 / 20 limit? Or shall I reduce the quality? No problem if necessary, just the gif wouldn't be as good of course :)

No.........it's 8Mb

To up that requires a config change to the server. I decided not to do that as 8Mb should be sufficient for the all but the laziest of uploaders 😇

10-second GIFs get big! But cool, understood (and probably for the best really). Let's see how it comes out...

Was trying to work out how to send a PM over the new system. Came to the conclusion you can't. Is that correct?

They're called Conversations but effectively the same. Mail icon in the menu bar.
Next to your Username.

Click on the envelope, then start conversation.

Where is it then? 🇰🇼
Looks like it came out alright. Dunno how useful they are, or if they're annoying... They're easy enough to make...
