Also: "Brentford would have been kicking themselves in the dressing room after the final whistle. They missed the chance to drub their rivals by a detrimental margin and the fact we only lost by 1 solitary goal was priceless and laughable."

Imagine gloating about the fact that you only lost 1-0. And they call us tinpot! rofl rofl

Featured quote: 'The Bees are still irrelevant and characteristically tinpot, but they have the bragging rights and I’m sure it’ll look splendid in their brimming trophy cabinet. No matter what happens from here, we’ll still live rent free in their heads and I’d still rather be a “posh toff” than scumbag.'

Oh yeah, they don't care about us at all do they? Don't consider us rivals rofl rofl rofl rofl

Abroad so couldn't access Radio 5 while they had match commentary but the start of the next section started with the tail end of our match report.

"The fans are on the pitch", said the commentary lass, " and I want to join them". Who she?

Didn't get a mention for the next hour, obviously

Overheard a young Fulham fan say to his dad after the game: “they’re celebrating like they won promotion to the premier league”. Hard to stop myself saying we will be soon.
I heard a pretty depressed fulham fan and his young lad coming out of the away end after. The dad said "well, that was awful, wasn't it?" The young lad said "yeah, that could have been, like, 10-0"

I found the comment about us "...tactically managing the game by taking the sting out of it...", after we scored, a little amusing. I suppose that's why we only had 23 shots and only 7 on target.
I've just realised that by speed-reading the first line of each paragraph, I missed this little "gem".

Deep down I was not optimistic, with every ounce of confidence drained out of me this season. Brentford have become a right pain in the backside of late! The Scrappy Doo of West London trying to show that they can mix it with the bigger clubs, desperate to be noticed with an underdog mentality as once again our own lot proved that they didn’t have a Scooby!

Yeah, I think he was trying to be derogatory, but ended up slagging off his own lot.

I wasn't sure whether or not to take offence, but decided that it was another example of the "big club" not getting what we're about and long may that mentality persist, because it's always is to our advantage.

Take offence? Why take offence? It only means they're hurting, and the saltier it gets the more nourishing it should be for all Bees fans.

Can anyone confirm or remember more than 3 ‘woodworks’ for us in a game?
Opening game against Birmingham didn't we hit post a couple of times ? there was defo another game this season with 2/3 woodwork

Yeah, that’s sort of my point. If you hit it 3x, then you probably try something else....
I’m sure a x4, x5 or x6 would’ve lodged in the memory.
I’ll stop now- straying off topic.

As someone said earlier let's shave and grease the posts. In days gone by one of the squad would have been a chippy

"Games at home with teams like Brentford are where we excel, think Swansea, Bristol City. We should sweep them aside easily as they try to impose their expansive game on us."

"They will try and play football, it will not work, we will win it 4-0 and make a hefty statement."

I'm getting excited!
In seasons gone by i might agree but i think we are abit more savvy this season. We narrowly lost to leeds at ER when we could have easily held out for a draw bar abit of a defnesive lapse. If we stay disciplined but move the ball abit smoother and take a chance or two we could take the win

Interesting quote.
We could say the same. It's the agricultural & bus parking sides we sometimes struggle with.
On our day we can outplay any team in this division.
Should be a good spectacle on Sat

As I wrote in the other thread, I'm wary of a repeat of Wolves away 2 seasons ago, when we turned up in good form but were blown away. We're a better side now though, and I'm sure Frank is savvy enough to make some tactical tweaks to ensure we're never left too exposed.

That Wolves performance was naive, and while I would prefer us to 'go for it' in a game we reckon we'll lose anyway, Thomas Frank has shown that he's a little more savvy in the past. We set up quite defensively in a couple of the harder games under him, but used that as a platform to build on and try to win the game.

We won't be as naive as Swansea or Bristol City likely were though, and we're also a bit better... Sat could be a defining moment for either or both teams, whoever wins will probably see it as an important point of the season when looking back.

I do not think they will it see it like that - entitlement flows through their veins still. We are as nothing . We shall see however

Not sure if this will quote properly but I was struck by this on the Fulham fan report quoted above:

Their players over the years always seem to understand what the fixture means to their supporters. They always appear up for it, motivated from the very first ball and are always first to every 50-50.
Which makes me wonder... how much is Peter Gilham responsible for our derby record since coming up to the Championship? It's so clear he drills in to the players what it means to us and I just don't think Fulham or QPR have that connection. The players' reaction to PG during/after games shows what it means to them too.

Long may it continue!

Agree with this but also feel both sets of fans should look at themselves by saying we're irrelevant, tinpot and don't matter to them how are the players supposed to react. l know they say it just to wind us up but still hav'nt cottoned on that as London's premier bus stop we embrace the tinpot and they really are shooting themselves in the foot :D anyway long may it continue

Poking fun at our empty trophy cabinet is fine. I’ll wager we put something new in ours before they have to find the key for theirs. I doubt SW6 orders Brasso in bulk either, unless I’ve missed their numerous titles and dazzling European campaigns?

Cant read that with all the pop ups blocked that keeps appearing.
Here's a quote for you:

"He's becoming a huge name in the Championship in such a short space of time. We really should consider the possibility of bringing him back. He has the profile we need and wouldn't cost as much. Our midfield needs more like him."

I think that sort of 'filler' piece is no better than FLW
What ab absolute crock of sh1t. They say Ben White at leeds has been an improvement on Pontus and link to an article containing stats saying how good Leeds are defensively. Hidden at the bottom is this gem: "Only Brentford are statistically ahead of them in terms of total shots faced and overall xGA"!

Yeah, great improvement from Pontus, well done sky.
