I love this quote: "Not saying you’re wrong, but are we not overstating Brentford’s quality somewhat?

They’re only two points ahead of us after 25 games. Granted they’ve been in good form, but ultimately the table says they’re only marginally better than us, have lost more games, and scored fewer goals."

Same site, different thread. They're not very happy with 'LJ'. Lots of small man syndrome and taking the pee out of him.

https://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/204911-bristol-city-v-brentford-match-day-26/page/14/

They are all complimentary about our football. My favourite was, "Looking up at the screen, I noticed that we've nicked their badge - can we nick their style of football too?"

(Google their badge - Mr. Simon Chase has clearly been at Ashton Gate).

One of them "gets" us.......

"The plan and analysis that Benham has built into Brentford is exceptional. For nearly 8 years that club has been run in a scientific manner. They've stuck to their guns and although a slow process they've taken very few steps backwards. It is intelligent, consistent, and effective. It's also damn*hard to emulate without the background software and analysis team that Benham and his company can employ.
It's not moneyball, it's a concerted effort to maximise the potential of a tightly controlled club."

Mmm.....the Bristol City badge.......

Can anyone explain why they now have a pizza cutter and a red chilli pepper as their club badge please?

Asking for a graphic designer friend :)

Perfectly true.

However it fails to note we are on completely different trajectories

I had just copied this myself, ready to paste until I saw you had beaten me to it. :sorted:

Lovely stuff.

LJ “Between their 2nd and 3rd goals, we were unbelievable “......

‘Throws more money around than Mayweather in a strip club’...

- and much more to enjoy.
Not a happy bunch are they. lol

Had another look. Some absolute gold on there. Getting stuck into Ollie on his own thread now...
bemoaning that they didn't sign him, even though he was scouted, then why they didn't kick him all over the place after he got a yellow to rile him into retaliating, then how he tore them a new one all afternoon. Consensus was LJ would have subbed him if they had signed him as he can't defend at corners!

Posters briefly became sidelined by SB's rainbow flick and all agreed that it 'took the piss' which summed up their afternoon!

"Genuinely didn’t think he was that great. Just was in the right position every time for his goals. Benrahma and that Norgaard on the other hand utter class"

Isn't being in the right place being part of being a good player?

Really good reading. Long may our "identity" continue.

Two that I particularly liked were:

AppyDAZE
"Best side to visit AG this season, 10-man City or not.

I applaud you, Brentford. Football as it should be played.

Entertaining, beautiful even"

and the first bit of Spudski's post

"You can see with Brentford how balanced they are as a team.

Every player suits their style of play.

Every player has been recruited to fit into that system.

They stick and believe in their system, and play a settled side."

Not bad for a "bus stop in 'ounslow" are we?

This was brilliant, summed up their view of Lee Johnson having an inflated view of himself whilst being totally wrong in everything!

AppyDaze: Do you reckon whenever LJ looks in the mirror he sees Brad Pitt staring back at him?

Formerly known as Ivan "Probably more likely Idris Elba!

"Said on another thread - anyone see their entire team playing across the entire half-pitch in the warm up as if they were camped out in the opposite half? Passing it around, then out wide, then ball across, then finish. A very clear, drilled, well established pattern of play that translated into the game."

First saw this drill in Austria, I really like it. As the forwards are finishing off the move the centre backs are already making headed clearances and the strikers having a seco d attempt at goal. All very slick

"They signed Ollie, we signed Marley. One, a West Country starlet (presumably our scouting network doesn't extend to W-S-M let alone Exeter,) the other a player with whom WeeLee had been closely acquainted."

Reading virtually all the relevant OTIP entries (I’m bored and on holiday) I was amazed to read that Lee Johnson has been at Ashton Gate for four years now and has signed 58 players during that time! You’d think the BCFC board would have sad “er, thanks Lee, here’s your P45” by now.

He's done alright. He is to them what Smith was for us, keeps them ticking along nicely but will never take them to the next level.

To be fair, a few have been sold as well! A recurring theme though is they have 3 or 4 players for every position; constant changes, so they don’t know their best XI, nor for that matter does LJ....

I see there's a couple of posts where they seem to think there might be ra ras in Bees sections of the ground. I hope no Bee has been silly enough to get ra ras tickets!!!

Hopefully stewards will deal with any such incursions correctly and turf them out
They say that every year.

From their Foxestalk forum.

Will need Caglar and Evans at the back for this, their frontline is PL quality

This is simply the best FA Cup draw I can remember us getting. FINALLY.
