Seemed to get out of it fairly regularly but then that’s not a huge surprise given how long Pontus has been out. He and Pinnock had a tough job and mostly did it well but a sharper striker would have put one or two of those away.. sure we’ll be working on that though..
They're all rusty so mistakes and signs of frailty are inevitable for the first few games and results unpredictable. Get some luck, build momentum and who knows

Various Fulham fans said about us -
“They were fitter and faster than us”
“The best team I’ve seen all season”
“Brentford are better than Leeds or WBA”
“The Brentford club set-up is more professional”
“I wish we had Thomas Frank as Head Coach”

.....and many many more positive remarks!

Berkshire, Lboro was my uni!
Awful word soup from someone who thinks they’re about three times as witty and literate than the reality.
Where to start...we’re both “wildly inconsistent” yet 4th and 3rd...

The author unnecessarily uses big and clever words, for little impact other than to impress him/herself and also make it difficult to read.
I was half expecting to see the words discourse, self-scrutiny, pledge, ramp-up and zeitgeist, just to make it even more of a 2020 buzzword bingo.

"Our bench was shamefully thin"

Bettinelli - England U21 regular in the past l and been in the full England squad
McDonald - full (Scotland) international with over 100 appeareaces for Fulham
Johansen - full (Norway) international with over 100 appearances for Fulham
Arter - full (ROI) international with lots of Premier league experience
Cavaleiro - full (Portugal) international - previously sold for 7 million and reputedly went to Fulham for more
Le Marchand = Lots of Ligue 1 experience
Christie - Full (ROI) International
Sessegnon - capped at every level for England from U16 to U21
Jasper - academy - will give him that one

Our substitutes have nothing like that pedigree but I know which I prefer.

There is something rotten in state of Putney

Always nice to hear it from other clubs fans though.
Not when it comes to the ra ras or, and I quote Thomas Frank, foolham. Watching them drown the bed knowing we are so much a better run club is much more fun.

You may have been looking at the second half stats? The match stats on that site give us the greater amount of possession.
You know I'm talking about the Cardiff v Leeds game don't you?

This thread is about what other fans say about Brentford FC, not what insults they hurl at themselves!

We already know what misery they’ll heap upon themselves, when we crush them.

All in the spirit of keeping as much positivity and confidence building energy heading in our direction for the last 8 games, regardless of who says it!

He needs to read Loft for Words. I’m expecting Clive to describe us as the Hounslow hegemons if we go up. Even though he writes about the idiots from the Bush his writing is a level above that of almost every fanzine and many mainstream football journalists.

Tbh. no: I'd seen Bigbee's response to your post which seemed to talk about our game against 'ham and tried to help out. If you had been talking about us, I'd have done a brilliant job for you. If.

"Nervous about going to Brentford?
I'd be a little apprehensive if we were away at Barca but not the mighty Brentford who have lost 11 games in the mighty Championship.
We're going up as Champions, relax."

I enjoy watching some of the better fan offerings from other clubs on YouTube. One of my favourites is All LeedsTV - particularly straight after they have lost lol. They are passionate about their club as one would expect and always confidently back their team to win whoever the opposition. That said, they are always particularly complimentary whenever they talk (reasonably knowledgably) about Brentford. This is from their recent review of their pre-season predictions. The bit about Brentford starts at 25.35.

This is the mighty WBA who are usually a little bit too good for this level but rarely good enough for the level above. Relax.

The WBA who were lucky to get a point at The Hawthorns, earlier in the season against us.

I've just watched the sh*test Spurs performance in years, and they beat us.
Take Rice, Fabianski, Soucek, and maybe Bowen out of that side, and they aren't fit to wear the shirt. We are a disgrace to the premiership(which I hate, anyhow). Let's all go to Brentford or whatever.. who IS inthe championship anyway?

Good shout... Brentford are streets ahead with the way the football side of the club is run.. Play great attacking football and giving it to clubs many times the size with many times the budget.
Sullivan, Gold and Brady deserve relegation to be honest. The way the club b is run is a total sh1tshow.

Living in deepest darkest WHU land, that nonsense comes as no surprise, their ignorance is unbelievable :very angry:

But of course they are always keen to remind us that they personally won us the World Cup in '66

Jickwack club, can't wait to smash 'em next year (or comically pass them) :sorted:

As you say knowledgeable about Brentford. I can’t argue with anything they say.

I'm not sure 14 draws (so far) will get you up as champions. And I have to say I'm pretty relaxed, and I believe so are our team.

Might be wrong but post Peterborough in 1992 didn't we hold the record for the title winning team that lost the most games (9 IIRC)?

I think we lost 14! We 'only' had 82 points, but that would still be 6 wins and a draw from our final 8 games...
Just checked. It was indeed 14!!

I hope they get relegated, then what is left of the ICF can chase the Dildo Brothers out of town!

Thing about us, since most recent promotion at least, is that we don't really do draws. Win or lose. Perhaps more this season than usual, actually. And a philosophy which says lets go for a win, rather than settle for a draw, will probably result in a few more losses but more points over the course of a season. Would be interesting to see a comparison of %age of draws in that period, between Championship clubs.

Having players who can actually win games (i.e. BMW) helps.

Whereas teams without much finishing power naturally concentrate first on not getting beaten

This season most of our draws and 1-0 defeats have come against teams that have made it hard for us to play and/or have converted their one half-decent (or in the case of Birmingham at home, one tenth decent!) chance. We ought really to have had a few more draws.
