Looks like I upset them with my comment "It’s just an average side eeking out another win against a slightly worse team."
They have some good players but in positions where ours are as good. Pereira is good and on loan with a fee to buy that is more than we paid for Watkins, Benrahma, Mbeumo, Canos, Valencia and Dervisoglu put together. In his position, would we swap for Benrahma or Mbeumo? Only to stand still. Diangana is also good and on loan. Probably a bit better than Marcondes or Jensen in that he scores more. A few others who are decent and highly experienced but mainly 6-7 years older than our boys. Not really comparable as our recruitment approaches and budgets are so different.

If they beat Fulham they’re probably up. They’re good. But we beat them comfortably at home and after the draw there, their fans were pretty uniformly saying we were the best team they’d played all season.

What l'd like to see is both Leeds and WBA choke and we auto with Fulham. I know that sounds weird but Id like to keep our fixtures with Fulham and their fans have been generous with their compliments. Trouble is that when you have been a big club the tendency is to believe you still are.History doesn't win anything.
It will never happen, but that's the difference between Fulham and QPR for me. I love the rivalry in our fixtures against Fulham, whereas I'd quite happily see QPR tumble down the leagues and never play them again.

Even when Cohen was playing for them, they were always “the little club”. Bigger than us, maybe.

but someone did point out that it's just the fans who spend too long on a football forum who are *****, and that it's not at all surprising.

Must admit the rivalry and trips to Craven Cottage are great fun but if I never have to go to that horrible away stand at QPR again, I won't miss it. Also we know some FFC season ticket holders so always nice to take 6 points off them each season!

A couple more from WBA after today’s game:

“I’ve read through some arrogant forums before but they are right at the summit of being up themselves..”

“ That point wraps it up for me. Huddersfield and QPR are cannon fodder.
**** off Brentford.”

As ive said, its their so called big club mentality when in reality they arent that big at all and it must really grate on them that they have little old Brentford hot on their tails.

And we actually have the nerve to think we're better than them.

Remind me how many points they took off of us this season?

And they shouldn't have got that one.

That ridiculous no-penalty decision cost us the double over them.
Was that one where the defender was laying on the ground cuddling the ball?

Unfortunately, I doubt the manager or the players will be that complacent or arrogant.

It could be worse.
West Brom could have Hull and QPR to play.
At least Hudders have a slim chance of not losing.

Apparently we’re getting all the luck too!!! lol

“They are playing well but also seem to have luck in their favour, dodgy penalty last week and a keeper howler against Derby.”

“Agree. They have not only the talent but also luck is on their side at the moment as well.”

A ‘nice’ one to finish though:

“Either way I hope Brentford come up hopefully in the play-offs. No doubt that Leeds,us,Brentford are a cut above the rest. Forest and Cardiff play sh#thouse football and Fulham play 100 boring passes between the defenders. They were tripe last night considering they needed the win.”

I'll bite.

They can hand on heart say they have not benefitted from anything like that over 46 games or some other piece of luck like, say,a stone cold penalty not being given against them?

The Charlton penalty was stonewall. Talk about clutching at straws. And players making errors is part of what makes some teams better than others so is hardly ‘luck’.

Were they hoping they were in luck when Pereira tried to cheat his way to a getting a player sent off for tickling his hair?
Or when Robson-Kanu fell over in the penalty area claiming a penalty...
Or even when Pereira took a tumble when he slipped on that banana skin in the area and tried to claim a penalty for slipping over his own feet?

No, they don't get the luck, you are right. Luck is created from good moves and skill.
They couldn't get past a stubborn Fulham defence so resorted to try and cheat their way through it instead.

I'd rather the luck we get from shots like Benrahma had, than fall over in the area and try and trick the referee into giving a penalty that was not deserved whatsoever.

Pereira? Most fouled player in the Championship, apparently. One of the biggest divers, in my book. His antics were embarrassing yesterday.

Its takes a staggering level of ignorance to label one team arrogant then label another 2 as cannon fodder!

Shocking story here... Two sets of fans passionate about their club who fancy themselves to do the job and dream of promotion. Put the handbags down chaps

I sort of agree, this thread has gone from one that's enjoyable to read to one that's just...tetchy. I think both sides will relax once it's all sorted one way or the other.

WBA:

"I've watched them a few times now since lockdown & teams pay them far to much respect."

"As Jacko said, Preston didn't get the rub of the green or the refereeing decisions, pretty sure Brentford will be in the EPL next season one way or another."

"Nice little cinderella club with a shiny new stadium !"
"If you saw the game on Sky earlier, they've even got the scripts written."

Ever such a slight change in the narrative of their comments from when they patted us on the head after our plucky draw up there earlier in the season!!! lol

Let’s hope Hudders Cowley-ball them to a bore draw on Friday.
There is more chance of me having a night of passion with Margot Robbie than QPR turning up for the last game.

They should count themselves fortunate the referee at the hawthornes saw a sexy bird in the stands just as bartley decided he was a goalkeeper or we would be ahead of them!
