Lawro has predicted for Sarurday...

Yep, you guessed it...

Another 0-2 defeat! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

🤡
Lawro is so predictable. My son and I play a game each week. Predict Lawrenson's prediction. I get the exact Lawrenson prediction in about 7 out of 10 every week.

The comments "below the line" on the Guardian match report, many gibe fair credit to Burnley yesterday, mixed with those people who knew we were going to be scrapping against relegation it was just a matter of time etc etc.

FWIW I think the aerial threat comment is total nonsense as that was not how Burnley played.....the comment maker may not have seen the game.

We were nailed on favourites to go down before a ball was kicked, Europa league certs after beating West Ham and now after a third defeat on the spin favourites to again to go down.
I prefer being the under dogs and think we do as well, take four of your key players out of the starting 11 and most teams would see a dip in performance if not results.

The betting markets had us around an even money chance to go down at the beginning of the season. The price on the Betfair exchange has been as high as 14/1 since and we are currently close to 6/1 against being relegated (too big in my view). Norwich, Watford, Newcastle, Burnley and Villa are all a shorter price and Leeds are the same price as Bees.

Don't tell them about the other thread 🤫
Though I think the comments still stand on the basis we’ve separated out the issues many of us have put in the other thread from our anticipation about the game itself.

Seen quite a few Newcastle fans on social media saying we're going to be 'surprised' by Eddie Howe's tactics.. Yeh, right.... 😂

tad of arrogance and entitlement on their sites from yet another 'big' club. Should be beating a team like Brentford. They never learn that history doesnt win football matches and they are where they are because after 12 games they are the worst in the division.

That thread is interesting context for us. In most of the games we’ve got a win or draw this season the opposition fans have marked it out as one of their team’s poorest performances of the season. A few have given us credit for making them have a poor performance.

In that thread many of the comments are not just saying that was their best performance of the season but that it was their best for years. I don’t think any of us thought it was a vintage Bees performance beyond relief that we were good attacking and had the belief back to come back from 4 straight defeats and go at them. Which gives me optimism for us as injured players return.

Think we played them at a really bad time - before the international break the team and the crowd would have given up at 3-2.

Possibly at 2-1! After taking early leads v West Ham and Spurs they’d have had an “oh no, not again” feeling. Whereas I think the main thing Howe has done is tell them to just keep attacking.

Everton fans seem a miserable bunch and far from confident . One cheeky bugger calls us a poor man's Fulham Everton Forum
Looking at the ‘teams like Brentford’ type comments, I’d wager that at least half of their fans had probably never heard of us before this season, let alone our reputation for playing attractive attacking football. Their comments are made out of sheer ignorance.

Genuinely hope we absolutely violate them repeatedly live on TV and send them back to Liverpool where they can wear black armbands, hold a minutes silence across the city, and bemoan how everyone’s against them. Or something.

Horrible, horrible people.

Last time we played them, as a middling league 1 side, we drew (and subsequently beat on penalties) in the cup.
Short memories...
And on the old head to head, our record against them is: PL 17, W 8, D 2, L 7.

And Everton haven't beaten Brentford since 1954 (though we don't like to talk about that one 😧)

Like many of other “once great” clubs (Spurs, Villa, Forest etc etc) they have delusions of grandeur and a massive sense of self-entitlement

167 (ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN) pages of it, so they really must have quite a few things to say.

Fun reading from about page 40 as the match progresses.

Read the brief part about when Canos should have been sent off for the foul on Digne resulting in Jansson getting cautioned.
They laughing about not putting the ball out.
I felt the ref could/should've blown when the ball was booted high and away after the first 60 seconds to tend to the player. I think everyone knew the rest of the players would get wound up and a serious challenge would come in and potentially hurt someone just to get the game stopped for treatment.

Football is dead, apparently.

I need to get off the internet for the night now - I absolutely hate these scouse ****s and their woeful embarrassing and abject w*nkery is just winding me up no end 😂 👋

Can’t they just stick to slagging off their own players and complaining about the sun please?

Sounds like they don’t go to many aways. Home fans get the best seats, duh. Surprise! With us it’s the sun; could be the next post code (Newcastle), or being crammed like battery hens (Palace), or just simply wee’d on (Leeds).

I'm assuming this person who is a political correspondent at Joe.co.uk is a Toffee. This made me howl.

You have to remember it rains a lot up there.

To be fair I have been to Goodison as a neutral and they are a pretty dedicated and passionate lot who largely live in Liverpool (as opposed to the other lot who don't)

But I noticed they do quickly turn on their team if things are not going well and that was very evident from the away end yesterday at the end of the match, scenes I cannot recall seeing very often before.

Did anyone notice the Everton fan at the end of the game who breached the segregation bit (don’t know what to call it) in order to shout abuse at Bees fans in the East Stand. Stewards were standing nearby but did absolutely nothing as far as I could see.
