Neighbour handed me a copy of yesterdays Sunday People (didn't realise it was still going)
and told me to look at pages 59 & 59, and there was an interview and photo of Thomas, which I had never
seen or been alluded to.
Included was how he felt about Wembley.
Different anyway sorry cannot post on here as it was spread over 2 pages and so far not found a link

How many page 59s does the Sunday People print?

By coincidence this is Page 59 of this thread ....

Jamie Powell fund getting donations from other club supporters "because your club is donating iFollow funds".

To be fair Fulham and Rangers fans donated very early on.
Yes I concur, but this thread is "what other fans say about Brentford F.C." hence " From an AFC Bournemouth supporter - because your club is donating the iFollow money. "

Forest fan comments....

I have a lot of time for Brentford fans, in part because I grew up pretty much with them (or QPR) being my closest ground. The old traditional fans are largely sound but there is a huge divide with the newer entitled lot. It's come to blows between them on a few occasions at matches...
I also admire their playing style, analysis, recruitment and business model. I can remember when I used to be proud of ours...

They are, apparently, much more gracious winners than they were sore losers when we used to sh*thouse Sabri-ball them.

Good shout. Brentford is my favourite away trip because of the decent pub arrangements. That’s how it should be tbh.
I find face to face , Brentford fans are sound but they do have an element of online support who can be real dickheads.

To be fair I thing brentford have fine tuned counter attacking football, the speed they can get the ball out, the one where they were 5 on 2 and toney shot wide was up was a perfect example. Knockaert 2nd yellow showed contact but can't argue that he probably deserved to be sent off. Can't argue with the comment saying it could easily have been 3-3 if Knockaert goal isn't disallowed

Absolutely. Not only do they overachieve season after season, their success isn't mostly down to one individual, like say Bournemouth. At Brentford managers and players come and go yet the blueprint remains the same. That is what I admire most about them.

And the best of the bunch....

The head coach model and perfect example of it, there counter attack was reminiscent of fergies United at times. They are not far off promotion realistically

What's happened, I thought they hated us?

Theyre no different to our fans. The bed wetters go quiet when theyve got nothing negative to say. Now their more level headed fans can be heard.

Difference being forest nobs were out in force to have a go at us when they thought they were doing well.

Ours are out in force to to have a go at our own players and management

Pretty spot on about our supporters from that Forest fan. I do worry about the divide getting bigger between what I would call the old core 5K and the new fans. I'm only 31 and supported since I was 10. Even in that space of time I've seen relegations and promotions, great player/managers and awful ones too. I'm enjoying our recent success, my first ever away day was Hereford lol we do have a growing entitled new fan base. I want and thrive for succces, but won't throw my toys out the pram.
I hope as a fanbase we get closer.

I agree, the Forest fans were spot on. I didn't like their online element last year ('How dare they suggest we're over-performing! Let's laugh at xG every time we win!') However I've always liked Forest fans otherwise. I've thought their chants at games were at times better and more original than other teams for instance.

It's no secret that the online element of Brentford fans are incredibly entitled and tw*tty, they've never seen us struggle and unironically bought completely into the hype. It's arrogant as much as anything. Over time we will get a bad reputation from them...it's already started...

For all their moaning about xG they’re actually underperforming compared to xG this season (like us, the Experimental365 xG table has them with 11 points fewer than xG would yield) and it may well be what’ll justify keeping Hughton in a job. They had higher xG than us on Saturday after they started tightening up following a dire first half hour when they looked the worst team I’ve seen all season. Had Taylor not been offside for their “goal” they might well have got something out of the game and xG reflects that.

"I like the fact that they're called the Bees which are more likeable than Hornets. I like the fact that their main rivals are Quarter Pound of Rubbish. I like Bradley Walsh and he used to play for them.
In fact there's a lot to like about Brentford. The current Watford team, not so much."

" Wow!! We are getting taught a right lesson here. Brentford are inventive, full of pace and really sharp passers. Only positive we made it to half time 0-0 "

Intriguingly, the Reading site’s thread for yesterday’s game has the least comment/analysis of an actual game in the history of football. It’s a truly bizarre read. A lot of the post-match comment is about a previous game against Birmingham City.

I read that and thought the same. Their main conclusion was that the only reason they got back into it in the 2nd half was we took our foot of gas to save ourselves for Tuesday.

Reading the thread’s posts before the match itself it looks like they’d pretty much written the game off before a ball was kicked!

There's some really witty gems in the report, too.

Goalscorer Dasilva was also their best player in midfield: deft, skilful and the sort of player Bruce could probably turn into a decent centre-half.
Jonjo Shelvey sat at the base of midfield and pinged gorgeous long passes to various imaginary teammates sitting in the stands.

Which drew a nice comment from 'ShuffleMonster':
"He must be a pretty incredible centre-half now if Bruce could turn him into a decent one!" :ROFLMAO:

Here’s one Newcastle fan’s view. Fruity language. Not a big fan of Bruce. Spoiled his Christmas

I really like how he swiped away the graphic at the end...probably accidental but looked smooth from an editing perspective!

(Also, he should be asking for Ashley to go, rather than Bruce to go, but that's another conversation).
