Took it reasonably well :ROFLMAO: I think he's done with that club (until next week)
Sounds similar to the rant I had about Fred Callaghan leaving the ground with 15 mins left when we were 4-0 down to Bradford. Of course I followed that up with a see you in a fortnight message 😊
We’ve all been there

I really like the Geordie turn of phrase. There’s something quite perfectly descriptive in the way their fans despaired of Bruce “hoying on four strikers”.

Whatever credibility that saddo might have had left after that rant, he destroyed it completely by appearing in a replica shirt which deposited another £60-odd into one of Ashley's companies... :)

As a Sunderland fan commented on their forum "Ah bless, his little room/shrine with duvet cover and everything."

Their forum are purring at drawing us claiming finally luck is on their side and all bar one i think have written us off and they're as good as in the final.

Exactly what we want. Lets hope we hear talk of a little Pub Team from West London, and Little old Brentford will not be able to deal with Spurs under 23's.

Tbf im sure if we drew shrewsbury(for arguments sake) at home we would be feeling pretty confident too. Its a free hit for us and we are capable if the boys believe and things go our way, on the other hand we could get spanked but its a momentous achievement just to be in the semi

Unfortunately Mourinho's not as stupid as Tottering fans. He knows we are a threat. Southampton, WBA, Fulham and Newcastle all clubs we will be playing next year ( maybe not Fulham)

He also knows that he has nothing to gain from saying it’s a match they should comfortably win, regardless of whether he believes it.

Not surprising, they’ve got a home draw against the lowest ranked side (by a large margin considering the other two teams both finished 2nd and 3rd/4th last season) left in the competition you’d expect them to see that as the best possible draw.

Yeah no issues with Tottenham fans being happy with the draw, we are the best draw for them and are a division below everyone else left in the competition. Mourinho isn't the sort of manager to underestimate the lower league teams, he's someone who prepares about everything and will know every details about us he could know.

Yep false anger to get views and guess what people are talking/watching him. It's the Arsenal "fans" TV effect. They are doing what's best for their figures and they get more for that.

Yep. My daughter has (by accident, really) become an ‘influencer’ during Covid. Some days she literally finds the responsibility too great to post anything.
Unlike her dear old da, diddling away on here, without a care, and to no one in particular..

I thought he was going to blub. My favourite quote:

“They’re resting Ivan Toney - ex-Magpie Ivan Toney. Thankfully. ‘Cos if he was playing, he’d have had a point to prove. He’d have scored a hat-trick!” 😂

Hardly surprising given that he "scored" both of their goals (although the second one would have been straight at Raya if Toney hadn't diverted it and, given a decent referee, he probably wouldn't have been on the pitch to score his second).

In all my reading other fans's forums on match days, I don't think I've read anything from a poster who 'gets it' quite as well as this - summed up briefly and brilliantly, why we're so consistently good and why so many other 'bigger' clubs are consistently not;

Hardly a surprise.
Brentford are a well run football club with a long term plan that’s now seeing their patience and hard work rewarded with a fantastic team with a clear identity and one that looks like it’s going places.
We meanwhile will bounce from manager to manager with no proper structure in place and a transfer committee that isn’t fit for purpose yet we wonder why we are not competing with the well run clubs in the division.

I don't know if we are but I was very impressed with Norwich and Swansea this season.

Watford will be interesting as if there was a lot of turmoil with their old manager a new manager may solve that and they are already up there.

I suspect I will be impressed by Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Where as only Leeds impressed me last season. West Brom and Fulham were sh*t and they went up.

I can understand where they are coming from. One was putting it across without the relegated sides from the Prem we would be the top 2

Yes Norwich and Swansea impressed me, Watford not so much but they have the squad and base to build on. B'muff will be right up there as well.

I think WBA and Fulham (boo) were better than that (WBA were hard to beat, consistent and regularly kicked on from going behind- much like we have become this season) and the top 4 were the stand out teams last season, even though it remains gutting that we didn’t finish second, which is where our quality should have had us. I thought Swansea were too reliant on their loanees but Cooper is showing that he was building something more than that.

This is a tougher division for having 5 teams of quality this season rather than 4. On top of that the grinders of Boro and Stoke are much better than last season’s counterparts of Cardiff and Forest and both Reading and Blackburn are dangerous but inconsistent.

Those disappointing draws v Norwich, Swansea and Watford are, as each round of games goes by, looking like good points with the hope of more to come. I’ve not seen Bournemouth play at all, but if we can keep the run going against them and Bristol City (who I still don’t rate), we’re very much on for top 2. We never made top 2 for a single match last season, but I think we’re not going to have to wait until the last minute to get there this.

We were 2nd for all of 15 mins at home against Leeds last season. We just need to keep doing what we’ve been doing these last few games.

great post btw.

We were also 2nd for the first 38 minutes v Stoke (until they scored) and for 7 minutes in the final game of the season v Barnsley (between minute 34, when QPR went 1 up at WBA, and minute 41, when Barnsley went 1 up at GP.......)
Not that any of this is etched into my heart of course.......😭😭😭🤬🤬🤬
