Thanks sonofabee. I agree that there was a good tussle between Zouma and Toney, difference being that Zouma got booked (rightly) for his first foul on Toney, so in the second half Ogbonna took over that battle and probably handled him better actually. When Zanka rugby tackled Antonio as he rolled him in the second half there was no punishment so he was free to continue giving him the same treatment. Also re: Wissa there is a difference between not giving the ball back and actively throwing it over your shoulder! The Rice foul was a necessity and would have no objections if one of yours did that to us to stop our counter - you know the punishment is a booking and you just have to take that one for the team sometimes, as long as you aren't endangering the opponent by doing it. You could say he got his comeuppance anyway as you won the free-kick for the winner whilst the ref wouldn't let him back onto the pitch after he went off for cramp.
Ogbonna should have been booked for the 92nd minute rugby tackle, the free kick that led to Wisa scoring. Saw one of your guys rolling on the ground claiming he had been punched by Canos in the first half (he hadnt). When our players are "rolling" about you assume they are cheats - yet the longest stoppage in the second half was for the cramp that Rice was treated for (by our players!). Suggest it is all sour grapes from poor losers.

Love this one

To wait until the 80th minute to finally breakdown a championship side was criminal in my book. Ok we don't as you say have a top notch striker to bring on, but there's other ways to score goals.
Christ you'll try anything to retrieve a situation.
If need be take Soucek off push Declan up top and bring on those signings that are arse warming the bench, vlasic, Kral etc.
But don't just stand there like a gormless ****, waiting for things to happen, throw everything at them ffs.
It's poxy Brentford not Brazil from the 1970's.

"I started that match liking Brentford.... By 90 minutes I bloody hated them"

The more I hear of opposing fans writing that this season the happier I will be!!! :bounce:  :ROFLMAO:

"Brazil from the 70's."

There's a chant there surely.

Talk about Pele, Felix and Edu
You can talk about Gerson too
But talk about Brentford
That‘s a different matter
We’re not like that crew
We‘re Brentford, Brentford, quite good little Brentford
We‘re tinpot Brentford

Didn’t dawn on him that they were playing a Premier side - lucky we were kind and played down to their level to let them have a chance to stay in the game

I posted earlier that I spent 15 minutes in the queue before the turnstiles and when I got up the front to the security chap with the scanner I walked straight past without being scanned!
Anyway suspect it wasn’t a can thrown but a plastic bottle

Well me and my mates, including one lady, were well and truely scanned as thorough as those at any airport. We are all in our mid 60's. About half an hour before KO.

I’m not posting it here as the language is OTT but I can highly recommend searching Twitter for the alternative commentary from @WestHamClips

Had this from a Customer who is a Hammers fan ,

Fair play Andy!
Luckily I was away in Center Parcs, it was my dad who had the unfortunate ‘pleasure’ of taking my ticket!
He said it was fully deserved and that you do have a ‘noisy mob’ (my ticket is near the away fans )

My favourite comment is: "Going up automatically ?! Give over, that happens, and I’ll gladly donate £100 to a charity of your choice."

They're 4th and have hammered half the division 😂 That thread reeks of 'I should have waited until the morning before positing'

F C Flyover is one I’ve not heard before!
I love the claim that they’re owned/run by a wrestling fanatic!
Its not a claim. Tony Khan, the owners son and I think director of football at Fulham, runs a wrestling company as well as a NFL team and obviously Fulham.

Yeah AEW wrestling is quite the upstart, got a lot of ex wwe guys plus good guys who don’t want wwe (apparently) and it’s free on itv. Khan seems to listen and they generally love him

I know its a bit old now but came across these gems from the Liverpool RAWK forum:

Dragged down to their level. Stoke reincarnated

Never seen a team have so many lucky bounces and deflections, well, maybe Villa
Take the point and run. Fantastic as always up front, but what the fecking hell was that defensive display about? A total mess at the back. They are definitely the new Stoke, and will take points off all the big guns this year.
That’s a really bad result considering we went in the lead twice, and after the favourable results from earlier on. Sloppiness all around, not least from Salah missing an absolute sitter to make it 4-2. sh*te - and I’m really struggling to get the fawning over Brentford. sh*t house time wasting side.
Missed chances and another keeper having a feckin worldie against us
Don’t want to play them every week, sticky pitch long ball merchants.
I’m not giving these any credit. Schoolboy defending for every goal. They didn’t do anything of quality.
Salah with that casual cheeky attempt at a goal, he slots in the bottom corner and it's game over.

They are a horrible dark ages footballing team, very Wimbledon 1990's or Pulis's Stoke team.

Hope they go down.
They’re like Wimbledon 88,a nightmare to play against.
f**k squawka and the stat tW*ts,if you watched that game & think that they deserved anything you're off your head.

They’re like Wimbledon 88,a nightmare to play against.
They lost at home to Brighton, f**king Brighton.
Any credit going to Brentford here for having a proper go
Considering they time wasted from minute one No.

We was literally a cup final for them, like we are with every other team. Guarantee you when we play them again in February or whenever and they are sitting in 13th that they will play with half the effort and spirit and we batter them.
xGEC’s we’re 3 and of those xGEC’s, 2 were at a probability of 8.76856 and 8.83426, respectively with the 3rd at an eye watering 9.1865.
Evidence enough to demonstrate the fact we should not have been beaten to xGEC’s ratings and our xGEC’s were of a level that fell into the PIITFN criteria.
Sure we conceded, but Brentford had 2 xGEC’s and were successful in 200% of those at less xGEC’s factors of 7.9856 and 8.0583.

The numbers don’t lie, surely you can see this.

The last one especially tickled me as the numbers don't lie so lets just ignore the fact we beat them on XG ;)

'It's unfair, the underlying stats said we *should* have won' is not how you use xG... All those complaints are 'I don't like them because they'll be hard to beat for us'.

Everything's great and they're funny (possibly) and gracious (possibly) - as long as they win. But there's a real whingeing when they don't!!
Hope you managed to get to the plimsole line to Stratford did you make the sponsors and corporate lot walk the plank.leaving more room for the paddock regulars m l o l

It means they didn't take their chances and we did. Not dissimilar to the Brighton game.
It also says, celebrate for 24 hours, don't get too carried away or too despondent. Learn the lessons and apply in the next game.

I think it also says "rub it in to opposition fans at every opportunity" .... though I might have made that bit up.

Our sportsmanship is fine...someone highlighted the fact that we didn't have any players booked for time wasting on Saturday. I'm not sure if we did for Wolves either...? The fact that the refs had no problem with it tells me all I need to know, which is that fans prefer to think there was some big injustice over the fact that they were beaten by 'little Brentford'.
