I quite like reading other club's
message boards for the world-weary, honest, approach so many seem to have, but reading the Leeds boards there seems to be epic levels of self-delusion at play here. It's all rather hilarious.
I enjoy that too. Was very surprised to find a 'well done Brentford' thread on the friends of Fulham site.

"Who would of thought that our premier league future would depend on us beating..BRENTFORD. The most unpremier league club in the history of the premier league. Cannot stand that floppy haired norweigan manager thats fluked his way through the 2nd half of the season by signing erikssen on mates rates. How is it allowed that a world class player signs for such a small sh*tty club. They should be going down not us but that does not fit the agenda. The FA want us in the championship cause we are the big draw in that league."

You've got to feel for them. Why can't any of you people see THE AGENDA against Leeds !🤡🤡
You do have to feel for them. This could be only the second time that the Champions of Europe have been relegated from the Premier League. The first was in 1999 - also Leeds United.

To be fair they are quickly shot down by a couple of Leeds fans.

Imagine being so delusional that not only do you believe there is such a conspiracy going on but also believing that Leeds are actually a big enough team that people would actually care to conspire against them.

Apart from the two teams who actually won the European Cup and got relegated!

I shared this on a WhatsApp group I'm in and some reckon it could be a Bees fan as he only joined at 9.30 last night, calls himself "ChampsOfEurope75" and hasn't posted again. I hadn't noticed that but it makes sense.

"that floppy haired Norweigan manager" is basically praising with faint damnation, so definitely not a Leeds fan.

Yeah that is a bit odd, actually.

But that wasn't the season after. Villa and Forest weren't European Cup holders when they were relegated. Leeds fans have confirmed that they are still Champions of Europe.
I think it was three, actually: Man U went down in the early 70s.

....yep....could be a supporter from any number of clubs.... wouldn't be surprised if quite a few come on the GPG to show their gratitude on the evening of the 22nd.

Not the Premier League (but yes, top tier and relegation to the second - 1973 I think) and again, unlike Leeds, they weren't the reigning Champions of Europe.

I think it's very clearly a Bees fan causing mischief but it's subtle enough to have been believable. The clues are out there for it being a wind up and who's behind it...

Hello? Who is this Norwegian they’ve bought in as manager and what’s happened to the Danish bloke? I thought he was doing a reasonable job?

“Sorry but I disagree - For starters your league position is correctly determined by your ability to function and deliver on the pitch - In some ways Brentford's performances this year have been similar to ours last year - Take them on and give it a go - Maybe they will have a 2nd year issue - But there ability to find the BMW type of players, on a regular basis needs to be applauded - Funnily enough I thought Frank might have been a good option for us - I like his set-up and style of play - LUFC might be a big brand but it is currently not a great team

Plus great credit to them for getting Erikssen - He was available to most clubs but they did not have the believe to take him on - Now they do - So again credit to Brentford

If fair is fair then its Everton's turn to go down - Just about everyone else has - But it doesn't work like that”

To balance it, a sensible reply.

Just noticed a previous post regarding a Bees fan causing mischief. The clue is in the first line. 😄

Before we get too big for our boots it is also worth remembering that if you remove results against the top 6 we are only a point and +1 GD better than Leeds against the other 13. Our ability to get results against the top clubs and to avoid hammerings from any of them is the difference. Against our PL peers we’re much more evenly balanced. They also did much better last season against the big boys so there is a truth in the comparison. The top 6 all will have the scale and money to improve next season so I don’t think we’ll be treating those 12 games as inevitably going to go similarly to this season. But we should find ourselves more consistently getting results against midtable teams.

Why would you filter out results against the top 6 (or any other set of Clubs)?

If you remove results against all the teams that have beaten us - or all the teams Leeds have beaten - we are streets ahead.

Wasn't too long ago when both clubs were in the same division .. I wonder if we will develop a loan agreement with Southend like we have with AFC Wimbledon atm

This guy is going to love it if we end up signing Brennan Johnson. View attachment 32118
Chaz , you are being short sighted , most if not all the fans of those clubs deserve the chance to see their teams in the Premireship,. I dare say. 90% of those fans have been following their clubs a lot longer than you have followed yours

Remember the reaction when we signed Moses from Leyton Orient, this will be similar if we manage to pull it off.
The melt down amoung Forest fans will be hilarious to view.

Make it happen Blunts as the 1st step in this evolving drama.

For someone who identifies as a man of the people, he doesn't seem to grasp the concept of equality of opportunity for all in the English footballing pyramid..
How can you offer personal terms if the club haven't accepted an offer? Even if the club might have had an agreement that they'd accept our January offer it they didn't get promoted, it seems stupid of the paper to put this out there now, just as they embark on the playoffs. Very unsettling and we'd be furious if this was us.
