One of the many, many highlights of the day was looking into a clear blue Wembley sky with five minutes to go and thinking - exactly as the forum title says - “this one’s for you, dad.” Then smiling to myself at his likely reaction to the day’s events. He was a man of few words, but you knew from the twinkle in his eyes when he was really happy. I’d love to have seen them yesterday. We watched the Bees together for 30 years, rain or shine, From the dregs of Division 4 to the glory of Peterborough away. He went for nearly 70 years, but has been gone for 20 now. And not a week goes past when I don’t thank him for BFC... for a lifetime of highs, lows and laughs. And, especially, for yesterday’s perfect day.

Ironic that his idea led to probably the most memorable match for BFC in the last 80+ years.

We have all preferred 2nd spot before yesterday, but promotion is all the more memorable as a result of a P.O win!

I would like to mention a Mr Ferguson. RIP. He was our choir master at Hillingdon Church. He took me, and his son Stuart, to my first game, a floodlit game, sat high up in Breamar Road stand. Possibly a cup game, on a Tuesday night, about year 1955. I was about 12/13 years old.

Dad & Mum: Alf & Alice. Both saw the Bees at their heights, both rediscovered their passion during our mid-seventies nadir. Bees through and through, and don't EVER say anything negative about a Brentford performance in any circumstances or Mum would be after you. I wish I'd brought some half-time Mars bars with us yesterday in honour of them both. They were reunited in 2010 and I know they were both there in spirit yesterday, Dad leaving Brylcreem stains on everything he gets close to and Mum seeing things from a, well, a Mum's perspective.

A word too for my nephew, Gonads 2. Finally getting back to his loud, old, utterly loyal, foul mouthed self after suffering with Long Covid for the last twelve months.

All fighters, all my family, all Bees. They say you can't choose your family.

Never a headline grabber or a face about town, but he was a grafter, honest as the day is long and from a very difficult start in life was the only one of his brothers and sisters who could ever afford a mortgage.
His dad was BFC, and my dad was BFC since 1940s to his last breath. He used to pay to park his bicycle in somebodies garden and queue and queue to get into GP.
My dad would have loved today, but because he had no mother, he struggled to show his emotions. I would have known by his smile and his spring in his step he would have been the proudest BFC fan.

Covid is a c***t but on the mend now. During my 14 months of being ill and a boring drain on those around me, my man sausage had gone from a Mbeuemo type menace that chased down scraps and terrified defences to a limp, lame excuse for an organ....it may as well have shriveled up and gone down with Fulscum....it's been that useless!

However. Roll forwards to Saturday. When Ivan did what he does and then Emiliano stroked the 2nd in....it's the closest I've got to sending arcing plumes of purelescent jism all over my tv since I last had the energy to watch Pornhub in 2019.
Can't thank you enough guys. It lives!

Greetings from the Isle of Wight and many, many congratulations to Brentford from a Saints fan.

My grandfather, Frank Sullivan 1899 - 1968, was a keen Brentford fan and he used to go along to Griffin Park with his three brothers-in-law during the inter-war years. His daughter, my aunt, is still going strong in her mid-90s and has often said that she wants to live long enough to see Brentford back in the top league so she could tell her Dad when they meet up in the great football stadium in the sky. Here’s hoping my aunt and Brentford have several more years (decades) of top flight football to look forward to.

My only visit to Griffin Park was about 10 years ago when Saints took an early lead before Brentford equalised late on. It was a January evening and I have never been so cold in my life.

I shall keep an eye out for the fixture list announcement on 16 June and shall look forward to the visit of the Bees to St Mary’s.

Reading these posts explains why there were so many empty seats at Wembley on Saturday, they were obviously
reserved for those Bees no longer with us. My late father, C.W (Bill) Darvill, and his brother Wally, were two such Bees, who started watching the Bees
back in the early 1930's, living in Chiswick and cycling to Griffin Park, where they left their bikes in someones front garden in
Brook Road. Wally died very young, back in the 1950's, but Dad took me to my first game in October 1962. Sadly he died in 1994
having seen our one season in the old Division 2 following victory at Peterborough. He did the hard graft, but is the sole reason three
generations of our family were at Wembley on Saturday cheering on the Bees. My seven and nine year old grandsons are about to reap
the enjoyment of following Brentford making their mark in the Premiership ....... I hope you were in one of the front row seats Dad !

I thought of Tony and Bernie a few times over the last week.

I ordered the "We are going up" T-shirt from the club shop this week: One of my most prominent promotion memories from the past was standing in the bar of the Brewery Tap after the win over Exeter in 1999 (I was 15, probably one of the first times I was in a Brentford pub relatively late in to the evening) and Tony was leading a chorus of "We are going up" at least once every 10 mins - so partly thought of that evening in picking that T-shirt. He'd have enjoyed this, not sure if he'd have enjoyed it more or less than 6 home wins in a row against "the s***" though!

Seen all our final losses bar Wigan so decided to swerve Wembley and head to my dads instead - he has been going since 1967 and took me to my first game in '86. Being at Wembley would have been amazing but in hindsight I am glad we got to share the moment where the final whistle blew and we had finally made it back to the top flight - my grandad is 89 and saw his first game when we were a top flight team so it has gone full circle albeit it took 74 years...

I have taken up golf (utterly hopeless by the way) and the bloke that works there heard me talking about the play off final. He said when he lived in London there was a bloke called Bernie in his local pub, Brentford mad he was. Used to wear braces, odd socks and always had his alsatian with him, lovely bloke but if you brought up Brentford was bat sh*t crazy about them (in a good way). A real old school character.

Two people for me. Firstly my Nan, Alice Pearce, (Queen Bee) sorry Debbie. First went with her brothers when she was younger than 10 years old and still had a season ticket into her 90’s before she died in 2009, I am (was) a regular Ealing Roader since the early 70’s and we were stood side by side until she moved to the posh seats in Braemar Road. She alone is responsible for 14 season tickets in the East Stand at BCS.

Second is my father-in-law Les Gent, lived in Braemar Road, next to the old club shop (portacabin) where he was taught to smoke by the players, he was a Braemar Road turnstile operator until life took him far too early in 1986, the year of our marriage although he was there to see his beautiful daughter get married to a mad Bees fan.

Both would be so proud and happy to see what we have achieved. COYB.
