Tbh - it's not even worth discussing the individuals who have sent MB abusive tweets. They are either opposition supporters or morons with a low IQ and their heads in the sand.

Give it a few days and this will all blow over. We've had a 3 year honeymoon (with the exception of doncaster and yeovil!) and there's no reason that should stop. Now is the time to get behind MB, MW and the team - onwards and upwards.

Anyone that abuses MB by whatever communication is well out of order, and the ****er that called him a piece of sh*t is an utter arsehole. and I hope I never set eyes on him. We are where we are 100% because of Matthew Benham. Without him would we be in the football league? I have my doubts. Something has happened for all of this to come to light. Some people probably know what is going on, I don't. But I do know Benham is not egotistic, why would he be?
Initially I was upset, but as I read other peoples post I thought hang on there is more to this that meets the eye. That is the reason that I have posted very little on this thread.
Agree with the above and my take on this whole sorry mess is that if the January transfer window has been the catalyst for all this and with our failure, Derby excepted, to have taken any points off the teams above us it seems obvious to me that the team needed strengthening in certain areas regardless of current team spirit. Perhaps, everything is a little too cosy and Benham wanted rightly to push on and hit a brick wall.

@CBrentfordFC: @matthew_benham stop hiding away and come out and talk to us!! u haven't given an explanation yet!! You are going to be the new Ron Noades!!

Pretty sure that CBRENTFORDFC posts under the same username on here so maybe can explain his tweets.

Wow those tweets are beyond ridiculous, i totally understand him laying low for now to get away from these clueless insults, deep down though benham and any fan who can see the bigger picture can see theres nothing particulary malicious about whats going on. Unfortunately in life and business people just have disagreements, and like any relationship sometimes love isnt enough to make it work and i think benham and warburton both love what theyre doing they just have different views.

Personally, I'd also like to see us show vocal support to every single Brentford player on the pitch today as well.

All the shenanigans that have gone on have done so. I'm pretty certain MB has the clubs best interests at heart. There's more than enough proof to back tihis up. Starting today, let's get behind the team and support them till the end of season. At the beginning of the season my expectations were to just survive in this division. We've shown we'll be fine and have surpassed most people's perceptions of where we'll end up. I love this club and will continue to do so till the day I meet my maker. Lebenslang Brentford.

Solidarity brother Plymouh Bee and brother Drimble Wedge.

The 'anti-Benham boat' is leaving Putney for Greenwich at 11.00.

Who's in??
fu**am fans? qpr fans? Brentford haters? People that want to see us go out of business?

Drilling holes in the bottom of the boat will make it go faster. Honest... Do it...

I don't do social media (other than GPG if that counts) and had no idea that so called supporters have been making unpleasant remarks about MB on twitter and Facebook.

If Matthew Benham is getting crude abuse on these outlets which has resulted in him closing his twitter account then I despair.

In my view MB has been very badly let down this week by people who owe a great deal to him and who should be around covering his back.

MB is - first and foremost - a Brentford supporter; the best way to show our support for him is to get behind the team - maybe even on our feet at appropriate moments - and make sure we come away from the Valley with all three points. It is the only thing we can affect in this process.

I'm sure he knows how fickle fans are and if he's one of us then I don't think he'd shaft us.
Benham has been shafted by certain employees and he is now receiving personal abuse on the internet.
Denmark must seem like an attractive proposition...

The Thames should be nice and cold.
he also seems to be part of the group that are more concerned with standing at away games where they please than anything else to do with brentford. maybe he has his own agenda here, no MB means we go back to playing at dumps like bury where the 100 away fans can sit/stand wherever they please....

(might as well join in on the crazy conspiracy theories being posted here there and everywhere lol )

I am sure that MB is made of stronger stuff personally than to allow a few numb brains on Twitter to affect him.
He may therefore have halted his Twitter public link because he doesn't want this to intrude upon his family.

Also he knows from the tough world of business, that if you see others spreading s..t in front of you, then you don't encourage them by stepping in it.

His profile pic on Twitter is quite clear too. Think someone should quietly remind him of where we have come from and all Benham has done for us.

I agreed wholeheartedly that we should support MB.

But his PR has been appalling... He could easily have nipped this in the bud yet hadn't said a word.

At present all we know is that he wanted to bring in some new players. It went to a vote and he was outvoted by three supposedly knowledgeable people.

So as they'd disagreed with him he decided to fire them.

One of them was humble about it (MW), one said nothing (DW) and one got the hump (FMP)...

Doesn't make a good story when simplified like that does it...

So why not just tell everyone the truth!

Any Brentford fan who has abused MB on social media or called into question his love of our club is a idiot of the highest order. Really staggered and angry at how short sighted and dim some of our fans are. These people obviously do not have a clue where this club would be languishing without MB.

I'd suggest the bit you say we already know is just speculation on your part . Don't believe everything you read on message boards would be my advice

I dont think there is an easy way to say whats gone on without making one party out to be in the wrong so theyre probably devising a plan than everyone is happy with , without making anyone seem like the reason for a possible derailing.

Yes MB clearly loves the club, but he's also a very clever businessman and as such wouldn't throw tens of millions away just for fun. After Griffin Park's sold, the new stadium's built and all the flats are sold he should get big return on his investment and I'm sure he'll recoup all his money and some. Absolutely nothing wrong with that as there is always an element of risk, but let's not get too carried away, he's doing all of this because HE CAN whilst at the same time giving thousands of people pleasure. We're just so fortunate that he owns the club....

He's having to underwrite a significant shortfall on the LR development with his own money. He's not going to make a healthy profit on the development as this will be what Wilmott Dixon get out of it.

He's doing it because he wants to build a legacy and has already indicated he would like to maybe pass it all on to his sons one day. How many more times can people say MB's objective is not to make loads of money out of Brentford!!!! Anyone that suggests otherwise is clueless.

Some of these ignorant muppets, were exactly the same when the club did not have a pot to piss in. and did not like the idea that we were shaking buckets, trying to keep the club going. "As one well known poster would say "you could not make it up." Any future distasteful clowns that want to post sh*t I suggest you find out some facts before putting your mouth in gear.

This and the several other threads that have sprung up around the Warbsgate affair encapsulate for me everything that's to be admired and applauded about the GPG. It's why I reach for it when I wake in the middle of the night and take a sneaky peak whenever I can during the day. Here we have succinct and insightful summaries and comment from those In the know, seeking to reassure the average Joe that there's no need to panic; caustic exchanges expressing a myriad of differing points of view in a familiar and affectionate way (see Micky Flanagan's Casual C*nting on YouTube for a better explanation - just cover granny and the kid's ears). And last but no means least the surrealist left field sense of humour that gives us the likes of the Creme Egg metaphor (although I'm positive MB is attempting to improve the recipe rather that cheapen things like Kraft) and the more traditional groan inducing but nonetheless grin cracking puns that keep things in perspective, no matter how grim the subject matter. In a reclaimed New Brentford way, its Brentford innit? If Matthew's had enough of ****ter and Facilebook, and who could blame him, I sincerely hope he's lurking on here and feeling the Valentine's Day love.

**** me He would have to make some serious bunce, this club has already cost him 90 million. So that is well out of the question.

How about we keep our manager and get promoted to the Prem and we get £120m to pay for the stadium... Now we have a lame duck manager and a bunch of players badly let down by someone they've hardly ever met.

Not badly enough let down to pick up their six figure salaries paid out of his own money. I think players need to have a good think about who they line up for and against ......

If it wasn't for MB then we may we'll have been playing Forest Green today. MW will quite rightly always have a place in our hearts, but MB is the future of this club. So if it comes down to sides (which it seems to be) then as far as I'm concerned we need a new manager, now.

Can't be bothered to read every post on this thread, but suspect I would struggle to find a more stupid one than your effort here.
