A hard pill for you to swallow but I think you are an anomaly when it comes to memberships as I don't think they would expect members to be trying to attend every game let alone succeeding.
I can see potentially why the club froze season ticket sales once we were promoted as they probably feared a load of those would have been sold because we were in the PL solely and not because they are long term Brentford fans. As such they decided to freeze and go with more members.
With the benefit of hindsight they should have included a min TAPs threshold for Cat A games to stop away fans easily getting tickets, especially considering it is the bigger or more local clubs that will be trying it on more.
If there are any people that do not renew their ST next year then these will go on sale and at that point should be done on TAPs and games attended this season. Based on that you should be alright

So buy a season ticket and put it on the exchange for all the games you can’t be bothered with seems the order of the day
The club can stop that though by looking at this years STH attendances vs how many times they went on the exchange. If they are always going on the exchange then they shouldn't renew it.
To add to that they could also look to see how many times a PDF version has been requested as that could highlight which tickets are being used by touts as I doubt they are physically handing out the card

@hobbsy, can you paint a sketch of how this works/happens? Ie are there regular touch base sessions, and who at the club do BIAS have these with? does there tend to be a regular recurring agenda of items? how many of the BIAS committee get to attend, is it limited numbers ? Is there any sort of calendar as to what get discussed at particular points in the year ?
It is a hard pill to swallow, because if it's that much of an anomaly they should look at making exceptions for said anomalies lol.
No real arguments about the freezing of STs etc, I tried but was too late. Understand problems will come first time in the EPL too. I don't have a problem with the club as such for paying through my nose this year, but I don't understand why it should be the same for next, that's all.
"we need to keep (x) seats available for new customers" but giving me priority to those seats and guaranteeing me a ticket doesn't make sense imo but I'll leave it here as I feel I'm going in circles lol
It's OK to moan about the club, but **** me, some of you lot need to get a bit more savvy. I could be wrong, but replying to folk like this probably isn't the smartest move in the world, given the easily available evidence that he's very likely a lurking Manc.

To me the problem is the opposite. Those who don’t attend but DONT use the exchange, so seat goes begging. Club need to review where this happens and educate the STH. They have done this for seat next to me, so that there has been someone there for a few of the games. Think ST should not be renewed if seat left vacant for too many games - say over 50percent.
Yeah I would wait and see where the efforts of BIAS etc get as it sounds as if discussions are afoot.
IMO I think there will be STs available for next year as not convinced everyone will renew as I am expecting a big increase in price bearing in mind this is actually the Championship price that STH are paying currently. I would also suggest that they don't increase the day ticket price next season so reducing the saving that a STH gets over a member.
Then all that's left is for someone to decide the threshold for next year's season ticket sales

Yeah agreed. If someone isn't using it not reselling it on the exchange then it is probably because they don't know about it. If it was being used in that fashion I doubt there will be many instances of it. Again though can the club see if a ticket has been unused and not sold on to be used from the I formation from the scanners on the turnstiles.
Agree on the threshold for attendance as well although not sure where that level would sit and there are always personal circumstances to consider
Used to be able to until they brought in the COVID requirements but you would still have this info for a fair amount of games

In fairness to that guy, I think I asked him to screenshot his ticketing account to show TAPS which he did and he had something like 800.
Can you trust a screenshot? All to their own but I'd steer clear given the numerous problems that have occurred at games, especially last night.
I'm expecting similar to be honest, so maybe the "paying double" argument will not hold much weight.
But for everyone who bought a season ticket, it is worth remembering yes its "championship price", but you are now paying for 19 games as opposed to 23 (-£100 at old day rate, - £160 at the new) so whilst many still expect it, not everyone should accept it!

Conversations on Molineux Mix from a certain Torquay wolves. Saying he’s bought two tickets in Brentford hospitality. When asked by another fan who was also interested he replies, they phoned up the club and bought two hospitality seats for £100. FFS !!! This is not what we were told when we bought this package.

It is open to abuse. Probably in place in case of a lost season ticket card.
It does mean a STH can pass on to a friend who they know is either a Bees fan or someone that is going to there to support the Bees and are probably the newer fans we are trying to attract. Putting it on the exchange means any member can get one and potentially away fans the way the membership scheme has gone.
I think STs will increase by at least 25% next season. I know there are less games but when you consider the games we get to watch this season it's worth it.

Someone got a junior membership for their 24 year gf. How have they allowed this to happen, IIRC for ST originally you used to have to show a birth certificate?
Secondly, we had a last minute drop out so we gave one of our tickets to a friend of mine. He's been to a few games over the last decade so I didnt feel bad about it. When he got to the turnstile his pdf ticket didnt work, I was already in the ground and was told if we could show her the membership card related to the ticket she would let them in, which surprised me. The card was in with the rest of the group who were in the stands, so I went off to get it. Halfway back to the turnstiles they had let him in anyway. Where is the security in that? You could get a ticket, print it off twice and then sell one of them on.

I don't recall having to show any ID when I brought my Junior Membership a couple months back, I suspect away fans just buy the £15 junior membership and roll on from there, there's absolutely nothing stopping them.

Where I was in West Stand block 215, there were two people to my right who were semi chanting to some Brentford songs at times but one seemed to struggle to contain his excitement when utd scored. Also a guy infront on me with an Arsenal screensaver who spent most of the game filming Ronaldo walking around…

I'd never wish relegation on us at all, but I'd be lying if I said I don't miss not having to sweat about watching us play every week. I'd never ever once thought in my life it would get to the stage where I miss a hefty amount of Bees games because I couldn't get a ticket, and it's not like there's a sh*t ton on of us either, so it's in dodgy circumstances which have only been exacerbated by the clubs greediness, and unwillingness to put the fans first over extra profit.

I think this may be a hard one to police with Covid this season - holder could easily be an older Bees fan that doesnt want to risk anything but doesnt put it on the exchange, or has no relatives that are Bees fans etc

Fair enough, but guess club could, after looking at TAPs history, have a one to one conversation with STH about their future likely attendance. Think putting tickets on the Exchange should be actively reinforced - so that more of the 18,000 get to see games.

Indeed. I’ve emailed Jon V and Shinead. A fellow Legends Seat owner who had an experience with Villa fans behind him at the game, one openly drinking alcohol out of a bottle whilst being seated. He reported this to the steward who did feck all. My mate fwdd the response from JV to me after this event the response from the club raised some interesting points, one of which states the club do not sell premium seating to away fans. Well, clearly they do at £100.
On another point with reference to JV’s recent email to premium Seat holders about being responsible for people who use their seats or buy for them in that area. I’ve asked, in this instance. Who’s responsible for the two wolves fans actions who’ve bought ticket plus and possibly others now. Him as CEO, Shinead as lead of the Premium seating team or the person in the ticket office who sold the seats. It will eventually kick off in there ( it nearly did with the Chelsea fans) and quite possibly in other areas of the ground the way things are going.

I arrived at the staduim at 18:05 hrs and was in the South Stand (Level 3). There was loads of ticket touts outside Kew Bridge Station as well as the usual half and half scarves sellers.
I made my way to entrance C receipton and there was already about 100 Man Utd fans waiting for the team coach to arrive. There was a few Man Utd fans in our section of the South Stand when they scored the second goal.

If money wasn't an object I'd take Championship football surrounded by fellow Bees over the current situation any day. Hoping this whole situation is address by the club, yes we had instances of away fans when at griffin park but any slight celebration from them usually resulted in a pack of angry supporters making them known followed by a swift ejection by stewards. Now we just have to put-up with it because the numbers are so high and it's impossible to police during the match.

With the demand greater than the supply the club should be more concerned with keeping thier loyal supporters than welcoming newbies.
If we exclude the top 5, every season we will face a 1 - 5 chance of being relegated.
Its the members who have been going for years that will still be following us in the Championship or League 1, it is these members who will be indoctrinating thier kids into a lifetime of support... Expecting the fans to stump up £40 or £50 every game is wrong.
The real risk is that we could price these fans out of our club... They might find that belong more at HRBFC or Hanwell Town.
The club must find room to reward the most loyal with the opportunity of purchasing a ST something like... Non ST holders who earned XX amount of TAPS will be given the opportunity to purchase a season ticket for 2022/23.

Nobody I know would consider putting their ST in the exchange and would rather pass it on to trusted people. You would get credited one nineteenth of what you paid for the ST towards next season's ST and the club would sell your seat for double the amount credited, possibly to an away supporter. Not ideal.
