I'd have Philips in a heart beat on a season long loan - definitely one worth paying a loan fee for and likely to be not involved much once their first choice centre backs return (plus they have just signed another CB for £35m so he is way down the order).
Not sure he is a step up on what we have and i think Sorensen has more in his locker...also he dines look that quick or great on the ball but then I haven’t followed him that much

What about Amertey from Leicester? Played in the cup against us after injury and knows Frank

The key is the 8 home grown players in a squad of 25. We have to scout within these shores to tally the numbers.
Canos and Raya qualify but Daniels leaving opens up another home grown position to fill.

Olise and Ejaria from Reading fit the model young gifted and London born and bred.
Elliott from Liverpool at Blackburn exactly our sort of player we sweet talk with the usual first sell back to Liverpool if he progresses.
Brooks from Bmuff, Styles from Barnsley
Dewsbury Hall from Leicester with a loan up a level from last season - he’s ready to step up - fine player.

This is the type of pool we can paddle in now.

Purely from my eye, I like Carter-Vickers who is never going to get a go at Spurs, a proper defender. Garner on loan at Forest looked very good against us and for raw pace and development I thought their teenage winger Mighten looked quite scary v us too.
Campbell at Stoke if he’s over his injury.

Samuel Umtiti is looking for a new club after Barcelona have apparently released him, if an experienced centre back who can play on either side is what we're looking for.

Has he had a major injury? Wikipedia says they gave him a five year deal in 2018. If he’s not broken he’d be a huge signing- a member of the reigning World Cup winning team and younger than Ethan and Pontus!

He will want at least £150k a week. He will probably end up at Juventus.

He's had two successive injury lay-offs, I think... FCB need to cut costs and are willing to release him. I always thought he was a good player with OL, Lyon, he's going to want a big contract but his injury record will make him a risk... and BFC's quite good at risk assessment for injury rehabilitations!

I wonder if Daniel Amartey might come into reckoning, someone Franks and DofF would know well from Denmark days.

Victor Nelsson heavily linked with Palace.

Just 22 but played a lot of games for Nordsjaelland and Copenhagen already in Superliga, capped at full international level for Denmark too.

Same agent as Reid, Roerslev, Racic, Vibe and a few from Midtjylland. Denmark U21s teammate of Roerslev and Sorensen.

If he wants a Premier League move to London, given our links to Denmark we are surely a better destination for him than Crystal Palace, who, as yet, don’t even have a manager.

Make it happen!

Don't we already have them?

Raya, Pinnock, Goode, Rico, JDS, Baptiste, Fosu, Canos, Toney, Forss all qualify, no? That's 10 already.

Given the closeness of our B team to first team I assume we can count them effectively as addition s to the 25 player squad. If so then we may not need as many local players as we can use those from the B team?

U21s don’t count towards the squad of 25 so we can use as many B team players as we like.

A maximum of 17 of the named 25 over twenty-one years old can be non-homegrown. Those that are not homegrown and new to this country will now also need work permits, even if they are EU based.

Homegrown means players that spent 3 years playing in England at some recognised level before their 21st birthday.

Do we still have sell-on entitlements to any eventual fee (rumoured at £40mln) that Burnley might secure if they let James Tarkowski move on to Leicester this summer ?

Would be ironic if we used any Tarkowski add-ons to outbid Palace and Burnley for Victor Nelsson :)

Yes. It's been mentioned many many times. 27.5% of any profit above what Brentford FC has received in total to date.

It's all in here: James Tarkowski Do a search for "sell" in the thread........

Approximately £8m if he goes for £40m.

I heard, from a reasonable source, that Balcombe was going to be our second keeper next season. This was before we knew we were going up mind so that could be Plan C by now.
It might still be the case, he is a Club Developed Player and we are short of (uninjured) ones. A club-developer goalkeeper is golddust.

Thats 11 home grown isn't it, 10 if Balcombe not in squad,
Or have I got the rules wrong?

Translated from Spanish but;

Dalsgaard is interested in @fcmidtjylland. The Danish veteran, newly promoted to #PremierLeague the @BrentfordFC, expires contract this summer, so he can negotiate at zero cost with any club. Svend Graversen, the club's sporting director, confirmed the interest.

Olise in the last year of his Reading deal. I also think Blackburn might have a couple worth looking at, Rothwell/Dolan? Mowatt on a free?

I know Forss does, unsure about MBS although was mentioned on another thread that he wouldn't count
Am I right in thinking Forss and MBS also qualify here?
It's all in the first post of the thread that have been reference twice on this thread already.

Saw a link on Facebook earlier about Elliott Thorpe who has turned down a contract at Spurs and wants a better pathway to first team football than Spurs can offer. 21 later this year and likely would be a B Team signing? Can't find the link now but reportedly Hoffenheim and one other club were interested

As things stand then we don't have a problem with the quota, Mick C gave the impression we were low on HGP,
saying we needed 8 out of 25 squad, as far as I can see we are well in with that.

Olise is a total no-brainer. Any chance we could get him and we should go for it. Suspect there will be bigger dogs sniffing around though.

I think it’s unlikely we start spending the likes of £20m on a player like Lerma. More likely we’ll up the amount we spend a little more (currently £2m-£5m, probably now more like £5m-£10m).
Lerma now banned for 6 games for biting!

Leeds have a promising striker who might want to come down south I think he's called Bunfield or Banford (something like that) He used to be in Chelsea's Youth team I think

this is a good list, Brooks might be a bit above radar. Suspect Styles versatility might appeal.

25 Man squad, assuming 3 Keepers that leaves 22, 2 of whom will probably not be fit for start of season that leaves 20, the signings
need to be of real quality bearing in mind we currently have a few who are unlikely to be Premier League ready.
