Barry Bannan is one who’s being linked again. I would be happy with that signing, plenty of experience and a player to help us get over the line if we don’t this season. Would even be a useful cheap addition for the prem. His qualities will flourish in our set up
Link??

Bannan? If he goes anywhere, I’d imagine the Premiership ( Scottish football, that is, too small for rugby).

Would rather we persevered with Bidstrup or there could be a BSquad Trialist we don’t know about . Lee Dykes team of scouts make have uncovered someone else

Bannan is this season’s Lyle Taylor. The club had some interest. The player had some short term value to the squad at the time of that interest as a deviation from the usual long term recruitment plan. But this was dependent on either being available at that particular time and their club being ready to take a cheap offer rather than let them see out their contract. We’d no more buy Bannan this summer than we’d have bought Taylor last.

I reckon we can do better. I suspect he was one that we thought might be available and could help us this season. Can't see us going back..

Worth considering, If we had signed Bannon, there probably wouldn't have been Janelt.

Brentford signed Bidstrup. His injury meant Janelt was signed late in the window too.
If Bidstrup had stayed injury free, Janelt wouldn’t be here, yet! Bannan wasn’t a real option.

Weird when clickbait is targeted at a player leaving a club!

Agree, Bannan was a consideration for this season to help us get over the line, I can’t see it being something we’ll pursue again
If we are still in championship think we will try and sign him.Signed a new contract but wonder what the relegation clause was.

I'm still amazed that a story from an Owls fan grew such long legs!

former Barnet player. Went to the same junior school as my 3. Progressed well. 23 this June. Cost Posh over £500k. Won't be cheap. Big step up too.

This lad Harry Cochrane, a box to box midfielder out of contract at Hearts this summer looks interesting. Similar age to Kane O'Connor, and probably played with him looks a typical Brentford signing lost his way little, and looks as if he may have had injury problems. Used to playing with men which would appear to be a recent quality sought by the B Team. If the rumours in respect of Natham Young-Coombes were true this would make two Scottish signing this summer.

Cochrane spent a bit of time at Dunfermline last season.

He's really, really not kicked on since making his Hearts debut, would be shocked if he was to rock up at Brentford.

He's on a big long contract with an option. Suggests we see him here for the long term. Few glimpses we've had suggests he looks very positive on and off the ball. Decent cameo for the first team too where he didn't look out of place. Think it's likely he'll be with the first team full time from start of next pre-season.

According to "Not the Old Firm" which appears to be a Hearts Fan based site - Click bait?? - Brentford was mentioned in the Scottish Sun but I would imagine that it was in general terms because he is a Brentford type player, and the lad is out of contract in the summer. There is quite a bit on him that indicates that he is unhappy and cannot see a way through to the first team even though he played 22 league matches under Levine in the season when he was 16.. So he is unhappy and thinks he would do better at a smaller club plus there are hints that he may have had injury troubles. I linked him and Nathan Young-Coombes who, to me, looks as if he has signed some sort of pre contract agreement.

You may well be correct although he could be suitable for the B team as it does look as if they are looking at players who have been around the block a bit now. If that is the case this lad does fit the bill. He made 22 appearances for Hearts first team under Levine in the season when he was 16 and has since lost his mojo. I would think that Dunfermline are slight better than Worthing or Bognor Regis Town. I expect that at this time of year we are looking at many young players especially as Denmark is off limits now.

Ah, found that, here.. Interesting, does sound like a Brentford B style signing as you say..

I can’t see it, Bill. Good player but that ship has sailed.
You think so, If we don't make it this year & with Marcondes off, Ghoddos in & out & Jensen blowing hot & cold, I'd say he would be the perfect fit in the middle for our system. might be 30+ but if he get's us over the line & up the cost would be minimal.

I don't think any cost in this league is minimal. Can't see it happening. They didn't go in for him in January either.

He'll be on a hefty packet at Wed no doubt and would prob want a large signing on fee. Also a 2 or 3 year deal. Not worth it. We can def get better in from elsewhere.

I think he's a unique type of player and one of the best passer in the Championship, but somehow I don't think he would be right for us ?

No point in having a great passer if no-one makes any runs.. He'd end up with a Jensen-esque thread by 6 months..
