JoJo = Winston Reid.
JoJo thought he was a loaner
Reed - used in wind instruments (clarinet, sax, etc.) so "instrumental"
Given the substance of the post was 'free transfer', it may well be Reid as he was under a long-term contract at WHU. I'd assume he'd take a lower wage and may have taken a payment to buy him out of his contract, so not a bad signing on that basis.

As suggested before by other posters ( you can add Ray Winstone in 90s TV show Get Back as another clue, ditto JoJo Rabbitt as a NZ based film), however I don’t think Matthew would make it so obvious...

Prefer a younger player myself, PJ has injury issues at times and WR is no spring chicken, still not my decision.

Wasn’t John Lennon's middle name Winston? Sorry if this has come up already, every other permutation has.

I'll tell you one thing: with all this left-field speculation, this place is no Bletchley Park, that's for sure!

(He says, as someone who is still bitter that his Angus "Jo Jo" Gunn proved to be a dud.)

It was indeed. And his mother's name was Julia. Winston and Julia are the main protagonists in Orwell's '1984', a novel which ended badly for both of them. I don't think there's much mileage to be got out of those details.

Don't be so sure!

George Orwell's real name was Eric Blair and another of his books was Homage to Catalonia. Another famous Blair was called Lionel. Which Lionel currently plies his trade in Catalonia? Could be!!! :ROFLMAO: :sorted:

I just don't see it. Has he got the 'athleticism' we're after? He's far too similar to what we've got already, we're not going to play both Pontus and Reid together so unless Pontus is off I don't see the point? Frank preferred a midfielder and a RB playing as CB ahead of him at the end of the season in the Championship. That doesn't suggest he'll start him in the Prem.

Unless he is happy to be a rotation option

Egyptian Reggae is an instrumental by Jonathan Richman, known to his fans as JoJo.

With Dalsgaard off, perhaps we are in for Egyptian right-back Ahmed Elmohamady who is available on a free transfer?
UPDATE

I was at the Beesotted do tonight at The Globe. No spoilers as it is Billy and Dave's evening (although they nick our stuff! 🤣 ) Rasmus and Phil Giles were there answering questions from about 30-40 of the Beesotted crew. I asked who Jojo was and didn't get an answer except to say that we are wasting our time. They have a WhatsApp group where they have been sharing the answers on here and laughing at how much we are all wasting our time 🤣

The above quote got a special mention from Rasmus afterwards to me. He couldn't believe that so much time had been invested in the above analysis :hat:

I am sure there is a hidden message in there somewhere regarding future player acquisitions.

Phil actually said that @jmf will be banned from the GPG when we find out the truth!

Could you ever see this happening from the Glaziers, from Gold and Sullivan? Amazing, well done BFC.

Of course we are 'wasting our time' - isn't what GPG is about! :)

I can just imagine the DOFs and Matthew just sitting on a sofa, tinnie in hand, scrolling through their phones laughing at all of our useless suggestions at potential signings and guesses at the riddles. Every now and then though, one of us must hit the nail on the head and (through chance rather than skill) identify one of the 'under the radar' type signings we love to make.

Is it weird that I like the thought of the colour draining from Rasmus' face as this happens. Probably reassuring to see the next post suggesting we sign Francis Jeffer's third cousin or get Owain Tudor Jones back in 'for the experience'.

We're wasting our time? Matthew's wasting our time! ;)
Imagine Agatha Christie writing "surprise , there was no murder! Can't believe you read 200 pages you fool"

Want some more tenuous tripe?
Bart Simpson's middle name is Jojo.
Danny Simpson is out of contract after a short deal at Bristol City. Don't tell me he'd rather play with Nigel Pearson, a very old premier league champion is clearly a typical Brentford signing....

(as long as it's not the return of Mr Burns...)

In all fairness, it was one throwaway post. I don't think he expected it to blow up the way it did, that's more our fault!

Is it a member of the catering staff or something then 😂

There's a version of Get back somewhere where John Lennon says something like 'Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a cleaner..' just before the song starts.. Poss on the anthology album..

Not a rumour. But I see Tosin Adarabioyo from our mates(!) down the road has a £10m release clause. Despite Fulham's relegation he looked good and ticks lots of our normal boxes (right age, good value etc). I suspect he'll end up back in the Premier League again shortly. It would be nice to get one of their decent prospects at a knock down price too :)

Forgive me if this name has already been mentioned but seeing as we might need an additional right back how about Jonjoe Kenny from Everton?

Sorry if it’s been covered but did we get any clues last night to how many we are looking to sign?

At the risk of being killed, good news.

Leeds (Apologies) went for evolution rather than revolution.

And on 'current form' are we not lower mid table in the Benham table?
We would have been 14th in last season's Premier Justice League.

I still think we need more than a couple. Our bench was a little weak for decent parts of last season (for Prem standards at least) and there are a few positions we're glaringly light in (left forward, right back, central attacker, sub goalie, maybe another defender).

Will be interesting to see who we bring in, I'd like to raise our 'justice table' position up a few, so as to not risk what happens if form dips and we start to struggle.
