Just seen the pre-order prices. Not much change from £2,000 whichever of the 3 versions you want. I somehow don't think my Mrs will be buying one for me for Christmas

Spot on! When I saw the email come through earlier, I actually said to Mrs LDB, I know what you're getting me for Christmas, then I saw the price. And as another poster above said, it's doesn't even look that good. A bit of a disappointment all in all.

I thought I’d have a dilemma of finding the money and justifying the cost for one of these, thankfully I don’t need to bother because they just look like club shop gear at luxury watch prices. It’s a real shame, but they just look too tacky to warrant even thinking about spending that sort of sum.

A really underwhelming outcome when I was expecting something very impressive that would justify a massive dent in my wallet. Oh well.

They must think that London is literally paved with gold.

I also have a big issue with them advertising without VAT. WTF.

Suspect a lower price-point will be released after they believe that they've fleeced those of you that want to spend £2000+

I'm also suspect of how much recycled GP will actually form part of the watch

On thinking about it, they have totally mis-judged their market. 2k for a watch??! You can buy a very effective timepiece for £1000. Sure, the case material can affect the cost - precious metal, jewels, etc - but a very decent movement can still be under a grand. And this one ain't no tourbillon. To quote an old watchmaker friend of mine, any watch that costs over a grand is a very nice piece of jewellery that just happens to also tell the time.

Strange to market them like this. It makes you feel like they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes and rip you off. Which is probably true

Putting the price issue to one side, what are people's main gripes with this ? Being a 'Brentford' watch, it's obviously going to have links to us. Personally I like the back of it but not sure I really like the bee badge on the front. I'm just curious as to what people expected.

Re the price. it's £750-1000 more than I expected to pay after taking into account the Liverpool watch prices although I guess their argument will be that our's is a limited edition unlike the Liverpool ones. Mind you, will they sell 1904 ?!!
