Didn’t realise he was at our academy.

Seems to be established as Palaces 1st choice LB this season. One that got away maybe! (Or a Prem club would have snapped him up for peanuts of course)

How can he be “one that got away”?

We closed down the academy. Quite a few have gone on to do well at other clubs.

At least they have. Some haven’t.

'got away ' in terms of earning us millions of pounds in transfer fees. Expression used a lot more by the teams that sold us the likes of Gray, Konsa, Maupay and Benrahma and got rid of Mepham.

They had three of our academy kids, Mitchell, Tavares and McGregor, glad to see one of them make it. McGregor dropped into non-league and Tavares looks set to not break through before his contract expires at the end of the season.

Must be doing something right at Selhurst Park. Has signed a 4 year contract extension.

PvA is out of contract this summer (one of many) and with Hodgson presumably off it's going to be quite the summer at that club.

I also didn't know he was an ex-Bee. Anyone playing FPL will probably have heard of him as he was a cheap player who has got to play pretty regularly this season.

Helped by a timely injury or two to van Aanholt I think, and indirectly helped by Nathan Ferguson who was signed by Palace last summer but has been injured for the entire season.
