He sent Mark Peters off at Wycombe the last time I remember seeing him, just so nobody forgot he was there.

Poll has just announced his retirement from international football so we'll probably be seeing more of him flashing his cards on Match of the day. Interesting to note that the equally appalling Markus Merk has been retained for the later stages of the competition. Der Nepotismus is obviously something Blatter knows well.

He reffed our game at home to Burnley about four years ago when Ian Wright scored a twenty yarder for them and we lost 2-3. It was I think our penultimate home game of the season and Poll was warming up for the cup final which he was appointed to a couple of weeks later. It was a cracking game and if I remember he did OK but then again end of season games are pretty easy affairs. Very different two years later at Wycombe when we lost 1-4 and Peters was sent off.
