I have just watched the game back and first half we are the better side.
Second half I can see us soaking up pressure, taking the sting out of the game, defending with our life, clearing our lines, playing as a unit, brave in the tackle, taking one for the team, working our balls off, giving nothing, taking what we can, silencing a home crowd, nicking a winner, celebrating in style.

sh*thousery?
Did I miss something?

No, none whatsoever except for Wissa throwing the ball away. Other than that it was just the routine slowing down of the game that any team in the country would do when winning away from home. The problem is that the Wolves match, where we probably took things a bit too far, albeit understandably when down to ten men, seems to have given us something of a reputation.

I didn’t see any Bees giving it slit throats or pointing to the exits but maybe row 12 had a better class of football factory wannabe in it.
I saw nothing that was out of order from the youngsters around us
I need to have a word with my 13 year old boy giving it w⚓️ gestures to the opposition though. I’m not setting a good example here.

Just to clarify - the only ‘reputation’ we have is amongst Wolves fans (whose team did far worse against Southampton the following Sunday (https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/55876/) and gobby online Whammers who, ignoring the fact they should have been 3-0 down after 12 minutes, want to take the gloss away from Brentford’s victory by blaming their loss on the ref/gamesmanship (ignoring their hack on Ivan on the edge of the box a second before he was about to unleash a thunderbolt, or Declan Rice going down ‘injured’ in extra time - only for that to backfire beautifully when Wissa netted with the last kick of the game).

The common denominator? Brentford didn’t play their preordained role of turning up, playing balletic football, but losing.

I was in 117 row 11 and thought many of the Brentford fans were no better
Our fans are nowhere near as bad as the pond life i witnessed goading young families and elderly fans in t the lower tier at the front. Slit throat signs, cans thrown etc.

Didn't see much sh*thousery on our part (no more than usual , which is ok)
Thought it was the classic game of two halves.
Should have been a couple up by HT but I think we rode our luck a bit in the 2nd half.
No probs with that.
Bit of a smash & grab. No different to what Brighton did to us the other week when we should have blown them away.
It's football & I do believe things even themselves out over a season.
3 fortunate points at West Ham perhaps, but to get nothing from the Brighton game kind of balances things out imho

Agree PJ.

sh*thousery?!?!?! Why has this been used to describe us seeing out a few games when in fact we arent anywhere near those levels.

My take on that stuff is what B'muff attempted to deploy in the semi final. Its what Swansea, Forest and Boro did to us years ago................. Rotating fouls, screaming at and chasing the officials over everything, time wasting at every opportunity.............. West Ham can moan about Raya's goal kicks but they dont pick up on how quickly he distributes out of his hands, there's none of the falling to ground nonsense after an easy catch etc.

The only thing i can pick up on was our sub throwing the ball away........... If that cost West Ham them they really are scratching at their excuses. I counter if with the cynical Rice foul which was the worst of the lot.

I watched the whole game back on Sky last night . Considering we played most of the game without three important players it was some feat . Ajer would of coped with MA much better than Pontus who they targeted as being slow . First half should of been 2 or 3 up , second half bodies on the line but defended well and still looked dangerous going forward our selves at times . A draw would of been fair , but feck it , Brighton did it to us as others have stated

Who remembers being at West Ham in 1993?
We lost 4-0 and was crap.
Martin Allen, Kevin Keen, Trevor Morley, Julian Dick and others were constantly harassing the referee over every decision given to us.
It was embarrassing.
As soon as he blew they surrounded him.
Screaming, shouting, swearing, bleating in his face.
We lost our fight on the park and were well beat as they marched onto promotion and we were on our way down.
Sunday was sweet revenge in my book and onwards and upwards we go.

Don't worry mine was doing the same.
He got his middle finger out once or twice too.
As long as his mum does not see.
I was in the lower, and my son in the upper, so goodness knows what he got up to.

Spot on my friend and the point I was making as well. We’re guilty of a bit of time wasting moving the ball across the 6 yard line on goal kicks doesn’t count as “sh*thousery” in my opinion. Your list does and we don’t do that and you can add feigning injury and demanding a card for a foul when no contact has been made (Neves)

I thought the “time wasting” was to allow West Ham a little rest bearing in mind they played in Rapid Wien on Thursday.

[Editorial Comment: West Ham made seven changes on Sunday to the team that played at home against Rapid Vienna last Thursday]

You forgot Phil Mitchell!. 😆

Phil Mitchell? Bass player for Doctor Feelgood? And also played with the late great Bob Fish of Darts in the Mickey Jupp Big Band. I once chatted to Phil in the bogs at a St Albans concert. Lovely lad. Shame it wasn't in a lift as I could have posted it in an earlier thread.

Artistic licence.
You met in a lift and then went to the toilet.

That sounds really bad.

This was the first game in a long time that i was constantly watching the bloody time count down. Worse then the PO final for some reason.

Desperate for another win.

More reliable than Sky and the BBC? Can't see it myself, think this is wrong. How would he/she know?
The Attendances given by the PA have been appalling this season

After the non crowds last season it is as if no one cares any more

This 49k crowd somehow got onto the PA screens on Monday and the BBC picked it up

This guy on Twitter who works for London News website has more reliable contacts at West Ham than others

Basically the attendance is ST holders plus tickets sold

So for all PL games West Ham matches have always been about 60k

So it will NEVER have been just 49k

To back this up have a look at the pre covid season

I wish we stop this attendance figures nonense as it's how many tickets were sold for the match. That's completely different to the actual attendance.

There seems to be no (official) attendance figures any more. Probably started at the Emirates.....

Where did you get that piece of information? I'm not certain it's correct.

i assumed thats why the crowds havent been 17250 when every game has been sold out ?
