I keep checking the Virgin website for their release of cheap tickets to Manchester on Saturday 25th October. They have single tickets for £12.50 up to and including 24th October and even for a day or two after the 25th but NOT on that Saturday. Does anyone know why?

Virgin and Trainline are still showing around £80 return. Is there another site or do I need to wait for Virgin to release the cheap tickets?

Come on you Bees!!

I just had the same thought. What's worrying is the cheap tickets are available for Sunday 26th now which would suggest there may not be any for the 25th :(

Twitter is great, I tweeted Network Rail who said it was nothing to do with them and it was Virgin Trains.

So then I accused Virgin of lying and got this.

@hobbsy_3 There's been an error with our system for 25th October, Adam. They will be available to book from Tuesday. ^KW

So check back Tuesday.

If you occasionally spend money at railway station concessions get a free Bite Card and save 20%.

http://www.bitecard.co.uk

I've used it in bars at Waterloo and Euston and it's made the Delice de France sandwich a bit cheaper occasionally.

Well done again Hobbsy!!

I'll put the tentative plans for the boat to Bolton on hold.

I'll start looking at boats for Charlton and Fulham now

Cheap tickets for Saturday 25th now available. Selected train times only.

I've just booked ours for £34 (cheaper with Railcards) - going up around 09.30 back from Horwich 17.47 (probably get the earlier trains), Manchester Piccadilly 18.39

Booked Euston to Manchester Piccadilly 08.40 out and 18.55 return £25. Seems cheaper to just buy a day return to Horwich Parkway on the day?

Anybody got the website address to use please to book cheap tickets.
We used Virgin Trains website, cost us about £18 each overall for a single to MK to Manchester and another single back with a railcard and then a couple of quid each for a day return to Horwich.

Went to Bolton a lot in my uni days. Got some great prices. £8 for each UEFA Cup match. The Atletico Madrid game was insane. Aguero sent off for spitting a minute before Diouf scored. A night normal roles reversed.

Has anyone who ordered a match ticket online received it yet? I know the game isn't for a month, but normally when I've ordered tickets theyve come straight away
