Is it now 11 games without a win. 1 goal in 6 hours, last six goals scored by Henry. Whats gone wrong with Arsenal. They seem to do so well in the premier league.

Pires is a waste of space generally isn't the player he was 2 seasons ago.

Wiltord isn't clinical enough in front of goal. Parlour runs around like a headless chicken.

And with their money problems, I can't see them strengthening their squad either.

Trophyless season awaits them

Arsenal are crap in europe because their game is based almost entirely around the counter attack.

All foreign teams defend so deeply that you physically can't counter attack against them.

They do not have the options to break teams down in Europe.

They rely on Henry's pace, or ability, or Pires/Bergkamp to try and do something special.

You need something different in Europe, they don't have it.

Perhaps they should do to Bergkamp, what the A Team used to do to B A Barachus and drug him to get him on the plane.:D

I think that it is due to the defence; i.e. they are not good enough at that back with the defence that they put out & also, the defences that they play against are of a much higher quality than the outfits they face in the premiership.

I aslo wonder how much more a cash strapped Wenger will take before he buggers off to a club with money.

I don't think Lauren is a good defender, and Cole is really so out of form ath the moment. Wilturd is unconvincing. Kanu seems like he is 25 going on 45. Pires is 1/2 the player he was and cannot deliver a dsecent set-piece. Parlour I agree with above is a headless chicken.

I think the problem is Monsieur Wenger. He has spent a fortune assembling the above players (except Parlour) and has not promoted players from within the club. IMHO Sidwell is a better player than Parlour . Upson is a better defender than Toure. So why did he let those 2 playters leave? And is Lehman really a better kepper than Stuart Taylor?

I think you are being unfair on Wenger. Try & work out how much money he has made for Arsenal on; Anelka, Overmars, Pettit & how much Henry & Viera could be sold for (& how much he paid for them all). The relaity is that his record signing remains Wiltord @£11mn (I think!). Ferguson brought Ferdinand & Van Nistlerooy for £55mn!! I am sure Wenger would have loved to buy (for example) Woodgate.

The squad, especially @ the back needs strengthening. But the reality is that Upson (if he was that good) would have gone to someone better than Birmingham. Yes they are both performing well at the moment, but lets see how they both do over the course of a season.

I think that Wenger should have kept some of the youngsters and given them a chance. They cannot cope at the back without Tony Adams, who had an ideal replacement in Upson

But also why we tend to get good results against the better nations who try and attack us.

What a Joy Henry is to watch.

To me that player is the best in the world by a long chalk he is so consistent and such a team player with so much independant skill.
I have never seen a player like him in 20 yrs of seriously of watching football.

The man is magic.

Sign him up Wally I can dream.

Arse, Chelse and Man Utd, all going through...Great for English footy

Much overdue result from Arsenal but what a sensational performance that was much owing to the brilliant Henry.
Bet they still screw up at home to Lokomotiv though.

Rather have a London team win, and Chelsea as the Assistant Manager was my old Head of House. Been there for 20 years but I suspect will be off when Sven comes next season.

Wouldnt you like to know
Only one? What about Roma 3-0 or PSV 4-1 over the last couple of years...

When Arsenal get in right they look World Class but sadly that doesnt happen to often as I would much rather see them progress than either Man U or Chelsea

Fantastic performnace. Superb defensively, Campbell and Cole showed their class, Toure was superb and Cygan looked like a footballer for once. They kept the ball perfectly in midfield, and used Henry like a good team does.

It could have been more really.

Inter Milan were absolute rubbish!

I've rarely seen a Champions league side pass the ball so poorly and have such little attacking threat with the calibre of player they have in their side.

They were lucky to get the goal that they did score, as before the deflection Vieri's shot was going out for a throw, and Arsenal punished them for very poor defending as I think virtually any other team in the CL would have done last night.

I was so disgusted by Inter's inability to destroy Arsenal that I turned over with 10 minutes to go to watch Celtic, but that only pissed me off even more because the Germans were being typically boring and Celtic weren't looking like scoring until the last seconds when they were about to break clean through and the ref blew the f@cking whistle! If Ballack hadn't been feigning injury and Kahn hadn't been delaying goal kicks, neither of which the ref seemed to add time on for, they could well have snatched the game.

What a sh*tty night last night. Let's hope for a Man Utd and Rangers win and a Chelsea loss tonight to make up for it!
