Sadly at 10am today Friday 13th September, My Dad passed away.

He introduced me to brentford in the early 60's and I can still remember the first game he took me to, and the following week to my first away game. He was one of many that opposed the takeover by QPR. He didnt go to many games over the past years as his health rather like my own wasn't good enough but he always found the time to ring me and find out and discuss the score.
Goodbye Dad you will always be remembered by me and the rest of the family Love You Always xxxxxxx

So sorry to learn this, YorkBee.
It brought a tear to my eye as it reminded me of when my Dad , a fellow Bee, passed away.
It seems like you have some great memories, and a very special relationship with your Dad, which will never be erased.
It is particularly poignant that your Dad was one of the many of us who fought against the 1967 QPR ' takeover'
RIP William. You will be much missed.
Deepest sympathy for YorkBee and family...

A sad day as it was my my old man passed away. The good news is that in time all that will be left are the fantastic memories based around football and the bees. RIP

We've never met Yorkbee but sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.

I often imagine "upstairs" being full of Brentford fans that have passed away (my Dad included) all watching and cheering the team on from on high.

Condolences to you and your family York Bee. You will find that the next time you attend Griffin Park you will feel your Dad's presence. I always say hi to my dad when there as I spent so many games by his side.

RIP Bill ... YorkBee, my dad took me to my first Bees game in Sept 1963. We beat Crystal Palace that day if I remember rightly. My dad is still alive and is 86 yrs old now but altho he hasnt been to GP for a couple of seasons now,he is still bang on with whats going on and how we are doing every week. He follows each game on the internet and is always ringing me telling me whats what on match day !! (even when I am at the match !)....
Brentford was in your dads blood and it is in yours too .. PAUL USA is right, you will feel yous dads presence at GP the next time you go. Lets hope that this season we can get that long awaited promotion as a tribute to your dad and all those other recently departed Bees... C'mon U Beeeeeeeesssssss.

To All the people that left condolences,

Thank you so much it means a lot to both me and my family, The funeral is going to be a private family affair this Thursday and a copy of this thread together with a letter from Myself will be accompanying My father to his seat in the highest tier of Griffin Park, together with a scarf and my shirt for this season which I am going to place in his coffin personally.

Condolences to you and yours, it's very difficult to come to terms with a loss and puts the shenanigans on the pitch into some form of reality. Enjoy the memories of the great times you enjoyed with him
