He's better than anything he's got in front of him at the moment.

Not often a team concedes 8 and you can say the keeper wasn't to blame but really did he have any chance with the goals? Perhaps he anticapated too much for Rooney's second free kick but really I haven't seen a worse arsenal team under wenger than this one. Szczesny was completely let down today.

Some pretty ropey keeping at times I thought.

Goal 1: Where was the defence?
Goal 2: Class strike
Arshavin lucky not to get a straight red, let alone a second yellow
Goal 3: Good free-kick, unlucky
De Gea poor for Walcott's goal
Goal 4: Needless free-kick. Szczesny could have done better.
Goal 5: Where was the defence?
Goal 6: See goal 5. Siz players near Park, no real challenge.
Jenkinson lucky to not get a straight red, easier to give two yellows though.
Goal 7: Penalty. Ridiculous defending.
Goal 8: Class strike. Defence stood off him.

Some ridiculously shambolic defending. Legge and Karleigh would be better than the sh*t they have at the moment.

Felt sorry for Szczesny, he was flying through the air like a circus acrobat but luck dealt him a bad hand.
That hand could not prevent the carnage.
Arsenal just fell apart and they looked like schoolboys playing men.
Bad day for North London all round what with Spurs losing 5-1 at home to City.
Money talks in this game and it's not a level playing field anymore.:thetruth:

Not helped by poor defending but thought he looked like a rookie keeper at times today.

Imagine the footballing education he would be getting behind Admas, Keown, Dixon and Winterburn.
He's a great talent but I fear with what's in front of him he will pick up bad habits.

Keeping arsenal in the game at the moment, if they get anything from this game he'll be man of the match.

He was player of the month in August, where he let in many goals. Says everything you need to know.

I wouldn't blame him for being caught out by the late swing on Walker's shot, though Glenn Hoddle's comment on Sky afterwards that he should have been standing a couple of yards further forward to narrow angles was perhaps a fair criticism.

Can't be easy in goal behind the current Arsenal defence

Pulled off another world class save 1st half today. He must have Arsenal's player of the season award in the bag already!!

Also went on a very strange 'walkabout' at one point in the first half which nearly resulted in a Sunderland goal!! Still prone to the odd rush of blood...............

Apparently after the wigan game yesterday went over to the gooners fans and initiated a recital of 'we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen' to the delight of the fans.

Unconfirmed reports he muttered 'apart from the bees' under his breath.

How good was he again today? Had Gary Neville purring about some of his saves. You feel sorry for him that he's playing in front of the current Arsenal back four rather than some of the famous one's over the years.

Shilton is the best keeper I have ever seen - Chez ain't far off him IMHO!

Perhaps you have discovered the solution to Arsene's problem. Surely he should be behind the back four:fishing:

Perhaps a little premature to rate him quite that highly but, given his age, he has the potential to reach those heights. You could certainly argue already that he's Arsenal's best since Seaman

Might have been slightly at fault for the Man C goal, but would have been hard for anyone to hold Ballotelli's shot, and the way Nasri and Silva both followed it in made it very hard to find a safe place to which to push out the ball

Agree about Woj.

The defence is getting slightly better though (couldn’t have got any worse!!!) Mertesacker is a walking accident! Koscielny has improved a lot recently IMO. Once they get Gibbs, Sagna, Santos back that will hopefully sort it out a bit more.

Great save from Super Mario though!
