Andy Mac, the first time I experienced us selling one of ur best players, Steve Phillips leaving was also awful.
So many have come and gone and I have got over all of them quite quickly but Forster and DJ were the worst of the lot, selling promotion down the river.
Jimmy Hill and my Uncle Ken were housemates back then, in Whitton Manor Road, Isleworth.Jimmy Hill to Fulham OBE 1952
Ron Greenwood CBE to Chelsea 1952
Bill Slater CBE to Wolverhampton 1952
Tommy Lawton to Arsenal 1953
This was the era when Brentford gave up on our dreams of a return to the First Division. It was heartbreaking!
would have like to have seen what Forshaw & Clayton could have done for us in the Champ.
would like to have seen what this lot and Coppell could have done in the old First division had we won v Stoke in the 2002 play off final

Totally right!!! We deserve this!
It’s us lot who’ve spent decades getting through the pain, and now we can love writing about enjoying the gain.
Also, if it wasn’t for us lot sticking with this club, and throwing coins into blankets to help save it, and contributing a bit extra here and there, which includes turning up to watch us struggling in Division 4 on a cold wet winter’s midweek night, then we probably wouldn’t have a club.
With all due respect to the younger more recent supporters, if you haven’t done the hard yards and miles and years of supporting Brentford, then you can never really have a total appreciation and understanding of what we now have!
Back in the day I would have to say John O'Mara
But of the more recent it surprises me no one mentions Sawyers I really thought he would be difficult to replace...how wrong I was though.
Tabbie was a big loss for me too
Yep - just to clarify I wasn't knocking all you old b*stards, I personally enjoy reading about the esteem in which some of the old BFC legends are still held in and other tales
Terry Evans. Still haven't got over that.
Used to be weird in those days finding out in the Chronicle days later we'd sold someone. Have I mis-remembered it - turning up at the Fulham match on Good Friday and finding out that Andy Sinton had gone! What a week that was losing to Liverpool, Torquay (LDV southern final?) and Fulham plus Sinton off to QPR, all within six days. Brentford innit.
