Sixteen years after his first cash injection and we owe him so much. Enjoy every moment of it. For not only are we playing them in a league game, it’s winnable.

For those that have done their tour of duty (you know who you are), the long fruitless away trips were worth it. RIP to those lost Bees fans that couldn’t make it to the BCS tonight, I’ll be thinking of you at kick-off.

Growing up Man U was ‘the’ team, 1990-2000, incredible, whilst we were going to Chesterfield with the giant terraces and roofless urinals. And losing a lot. Not complaining, I loved it.

But this is a day I never thought would happen. I even had a black “sharp viewcam” Away shirt cos of Cantona, he was that much of a star (i know I know…)

Like a lot of us old codgers supporting since mid 1950’s . Like a lot of us I was always pleased when we got promoted to League 1 and the Championship. But this is the icing on the cake , the last one of the top 6 clubs to play in the PREMIERSHIP , for me I complete the 6 I was lucky enough to get to the Spurs game . We only got the chance to play these teams in cup competitions

Manchester United in a league game is something I dreamt of, but never thought I'd see.
Every cup draw since 1976 I have said United at home please whenever we have both been in the hat/bag/bowl and of course in 2005 Southampton or Brentford v Manchester United in the 6th round of the FA Cup.
Although we had a great night under GP lights in March 1989 in the 5th round of the FA Youth Cup to shout about.

From the Busby Babes, the Holy Trinity, 1965,1967, 68, 74,75,Tommy Doc,Lou Macari, Pancho,Go Go, Big Ron, Robbo, Mark Hughes,Fergy, Roy Keane, Eric the King,Scholesy, Gary Nev, Nou Camp 99,Christiano and many more I can mention, Manchester United have always grabbed my attention.
An old mate of mine used to travel all over the place following them.
Quite a few on here met him on those Inter City 125s all those years ago and we would be travelling back from Walsall and he from a top flight fixture at Stoke City.
We knew this game would never happen.
Perhaps in the Cup.
Well tonight it does.
Away fans in home areas?
Would love my old mate to sit with me.
Then I would know our journey is complete.

So many friends growing up would tease me give me crap for supporting Brentford. But also so many got converted when I managed to get them to GP. 4 of them now ST holders.

And now we are rightly on the map, yes MB has put huge sums in and thank god. But to all the bucket shakers/walkers this one and the whole season is for you!

My best mate was a United fan. He died, suddenly, from a heart attack, in 2006. He knew how passionate I was about Brentford and I know he would have been chuffed to bits at the fact we're playing each other. It still feels like I'm dreaming, when I think about the game.

I have supported the bees since 1979, after my first game against Watford, but am not ashamed to admit that ever since I saw Bryan Robson score against France after 27 seconds at the '82 world cup, he became my favourite player and Man Utd my 'Division 1' team, they always seemed to come 2nd t that stage and I have always liked an underdog!! Over the years I have marvelled and admired the like of Robson, Ince, Keane, Cantona, Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Vidic et al but they pale into insignificance against the likes of Hurlock, Roberts, Joseph, Cadette, Sinton, Smiley and Evans etc.

So tonight, when contemplating us playing the mighty Man U, something which I never dreamed would happen in a league game, I thought I might be torn between my favorite team and my second team and settle for a draw....that lasted for a second !!

Man U one of the small handful of English clubs I've never seen live, will be good to tick another one off the list!

This has a bit of the pre-Arsenal game feel to it. Massive club, a genuine milestone for us, and yet also a realistically winnable game if we play well. I'm sure the atmosphere will be just as good as that night in August!

I was doing my O Levels and CSEs. I had an exam the afternoon of the France game which must have kicked-off reasonably early (late afternoon time) as there was no way I'd have managed to get home to Hayes in time for kick-off so I went back with a mate to his house in Ruislip Manor - very close to the station.

Of course, for many of us, the brilliant story is already happening. Most of us probably never really believed we'd see this day. Thankfully one man did believe and here we are. Other than him probably, this brilliant story is not really about individuals is it. It's about the collective, the family, that is Brentford FC and that makes this club so special.

The story is far from over and there are even more brilliant pages and chapters to come (just maybe including a famous win under the lights tonight). COYB!!
