Why all the positivity towards Utd on here? I never liked them, or their travelling supporters in the late 60s/early 70s and thought they deserved relegation. In the Ferguson years they, and their followers, came over as a charmless bunch reeking of self-entitlement. They got the benefit of every decision, how many years was it without a penalty against them at Old Trafford? I have some sympathy for their supporters nowadays under the present owners but successive managers have still been able to spaff away vast amounts on average players.

If I stay healty, I’ll probably be able to watch us for anther 60 years at least, we’ll play United again im sure, not everyone’s afforded the time.

Money can buy the likes of Chelsea and Man City a seat at the top table but it can never buy what Manchester United and Liverpool have. They are the two genuine football institutions in this country. Liverpool at home was special but tonight is a level up again. Manchester United have the name, tradition and support but we're not playing the name, the team we're playing are beatable if we get a bit of luck.
The occasion is almost bigger than the game especially for all those who kept the club going during some difficult days, thoughts to those people sadly no longer with us.

Ah @WestStandBee thats such a lovely gesture but don’t worry, I’m isolating at home due to covid. You get yourself down there, support the lads through thick and thin tonight and sing you lungs out.
IMO length of supporting time doesn’t guarantee anyone a ticket. You are there on merit. But what a positive thing to read on here especially after a lot of negative crap has been posted recently.
Enjoy the game and hopefully we get the right result.
Keep hearing a lot about “new Brentford” well if you class yourself as new brentford being 16 years old you are a credit to our younger fan base.

A late change in caring commitments following an emergency visit to Mrs Untouchables cardiologist means I can no longer make it to BCS this evening.

What an amazing thread! The significance of tonight's game to all you long-time and lifetime Brentford supporters is a revelation to me. I knew that Man U at home in the Premiership would be a milestone event for the club and supporters, but reading just what it means to you all after all the years and all the games is fascinating and heartwarming. I remember Stan Bowles (not over weight) when he was with the Bees doing much the same until he got used to our level. Although with Hurlock and Kamara they really got a great midfield going.
I was fortunate enough to see Man U play at the river rats in the early sixties when Best, Law and Charlton played. Just had to stand a while in a queue and pay a few pence.
