I generally don’t mind hearing all sorts but since we’ve started to get bigger as a club and actually good on the pitch over the last couple of seasons the rise of the negative ninnies has been inexorable.

I always used to avoid the GPG after a defeat because i found it intolerable. but i'm staggered by the lack of "big picture" thinking at times. we all know we lost, it happens. but surely we all knew that this year, there was a fair chance we'd lose half our games, and go a month without a win, etc etc. and sure it's frustrating. but we have to keep the faith, look for positives, etc. anyone thinking we could swagger up to the Prem and play champagne football and finish comfortably midtable is surely in for a rude awakening on nights like yesterday - it was always going to be a grind in year one.

I still back him and still think he’s got that magic moment in him as he showed against Villa, but he looked completely disinterested yesterday.

Been a few weeks since the last "encouraging flash", but don't worry - it takes time, and there were a lot of good signs at the start. In a bit of a rough patch now though, for sure.

I don’t recall him touching the ball once in the 20 minutes he was on today. Early season he looked like he had lots of energy but that seems to have gone. Should turn out to be a good player for us but right now he looks way off the pace .

In the last two appearances he must of touched the ball a dozen times. We have to try and get more out of him by giving him the ball to his feet as he is a talented player.
The positive is we don’t have to work hard to keep his shirt clean at the moment..

Really think it'll be next season before we see anything like the best of Wissa. We know he has ability but his all round game isn't at Premier League level yet.

Rather than leading the line / pressing aggressively himself he can leave the bulk of that work to Ivan and Bryan and instead drop into little pockets and help to create with that “something special” he has.

The question is whether it leaves us overrun in midfield. I’d say it probably does. Tricky.

The best I've seen him in build up play so far. However he's a finisher brought on to save the game, I don't get why he was so deep most of the time setting up play. This included set pieces, madness when we know he has the knack of right place right time to sniff out a goal

After the first half, I thought it would be great to bring Wissa up to replace Jensen, he would have been a better finisher, given how many chances we've got. He came on later and proved his value, just a bit too late after 2 goals down.

If we sign a right back and when JDS returns, it will be interesting to see whether TF considers reverting to 4 at the back. Ideally we'd do so towards the end of the season with survival guaranteed as it feels an unnecessary risk making a big tactical switch at this stage. But I can see this suiting more of our attacking players potentially and with Henry, Pinnock, Ajer plus Solid RB with Norgaard sitting deep, there's no reason we shouldn't be ok defensively.

He was playing in front of Manure's massed ranks of defence, which gave him time and space on the ball but he didn't make a telling pass or have a shot at goal.

No but my inference from your conclusion that he didn't make a telling pass - whilst factual- was that you didn't rate his contribution last night? If that was incorrect I apologise. In regards to your point a massed Man Ure defence would make it more difficult to work in so his contribution is more commendable not less.

I was sort-of agreeing with you! His contribution was that He added some tempo, found space and played some neat little combinations, he looked more like contributing as a team player. My point was that he did that in front of a lot of defenders, which is commendable, but that he didn't penetrate that defence... but neither did other players.

Not saying I dislike the idea, but who are the CBs you play in this case? If we are only playing two then probably Pinnock is sitting, with Ajer and Jansson playing. I have actually felt as though Pinnock and at time, Mads Bech have been outplaying Pontus

That's the thing I'm not sure about, if we were to go to 4 at the back.

I think there is definitely a player in there & we've seen glimpses but he's just not doing anything like enough to justify a starting position at the moment.

We have had to play Janelt at CB in a 3 this season so we have not always had a surplus.

You can stick Ajer at RB if needed. Although if you were playing two at the moment, it’s Ajer and Pinnock with Sorenson next on.

Never really had a pre season though did he, you hear so many players who struggle when they don’t get the full 6 weeks build up in the summer. Add injury and Covid and it’s been a real stop start season. Has the X factor in him so will be a crucial squad player for these last 14 games

People also forget the incident with his eye stopped him playing football at all for a while, so he wasn’t even training with Lorient in the summer before he joined. He’s not had a run of games all season so I wouldn’t expect him to be at peak fitness.

I’d suggest. As with many of the continental imports. I don’t think we’ll see the best of him until his second season.

He has earned us some important points but didn't look at it today. I would have started Saman up front today more to hold the ball better (thought he did that really well against City). Wissa looks currently like an impact sub player for us with his pace coming on when needing a goal.

I think TF post match comments summed it up well. Has really had a stop start season with us, came into the squad late with no pre-season, when he was flying after WH he got injured and more recently had covid. Hopefully can get a run of games now as sub and with a full pre-season in the summer can be flying next season.
