Hunt at Right Back?

They say you should'nt fix it, if its not broken, BUT!! what about DAVID HUNT at right back, hear me out!! with RHODESY looking like he is going back, big nathan will be the target man once more, his throws could be a good weapon, also i think he needs a run in the team to show what he can do

Hunt at Right Back?

Whoever plays right back will be cursed for life, as will their first born.

This is a FACT, and I am afraid not even a wave from Andy Scott will help

ps.....this was told to me by an unshaven gentleman, at a petrol station.

DOUBLE FACT

Not much use with Nathan's 50p head.

I concur. Halls at right back for me.

Fantastic tictacs to look forward to from this:rolleyes:Very expansive play:sad:

So Karleigh has done well at RB, Halls has had some stormers and a few stinkers but it will be an idea to try someone else?

Hunt at Right Back?

Ridiculous idea.

Why play a midfielder at right back instead of a right back at right back?

No further discussion required. Close thread.

I tend to agree here, I mean, pointless trying Hamer up front.

We have had enough of you Butcher! You should be busy mismanaging Inverness, not giving us crap tactical advice. :nono:

Talking of Butcher, I wonder what position BFC would have been in now if he had remained with us.

Interesting thought.

I quite like what I have seen of Hunt so far but that does not extend to seeing him at RB. Any winger with pace will have a field day and that will mean our centre backs being pulled across to cover leaving gaps which will be exploited by any half-decent forwards and we will lose 3-0, so there you are. Halls is prone to the odd loss of concentration but has done a fair job so far and is good at getting forward.

The only place for Hunt on Saturday is if Scotty floods the midfield with 4 tough tackling midfielders (Hunt, KOC, Beano and Sam) to combat Gary Jones who is the heartbeat of the Rochdale side. Stop Jones in his tracks and Dale lose direction.:sorted: Hunt could be put in front of Halls as Scotty plays two banks of 4, but think it's unlikely. After Saturday's display Marvin has earnt his start, to keep the full back occupied. I don't think Scotty will put Hunt in an new position from the start. Pretty sure, Halls will be at RB for the foreseeable future, injuries permitting.

Hunt at Right Back?

only thing bad ive seen halls do is lack concentration at times and carelessly give the ball away,

Hunt at Right Back?

Might be an option if we're chasing a game, but no reason to try it from the start... before that, I imagine one would put Kev at RB and Hunt in CM, but for now Halls deserves to keep his place

Hunt at Right Back?

wonder if scotty will go with 5 in midfield against with Rhodes wide right?

It seems to me that Hunt is a very good 'tenacious central midfielder' to back up our outstanding 2 central midfielders; many recent matches have been reported as "Brentford controlled the midfield". AS deserves a lot of credit for bringing in players to play specific roles and having, on the bench, players who can fill in those specific roles when the first IX are injured, suspended or just plain knackered. There does not seem any point in messing with it.

I agree with Smiffy that there does seem to be a curse on our right-sided players when the left side can do no wrong. At our level, we're always going to get the "casual interspersed with real skill" or the "action man with occasional end product" - the trick is to coach them and get the percentages increased. Equally, some supporters will savour the skilful moments while others prefer the boundless effort... or slag off the lapses of both.

well thats ok then, lets make him captain, and give him the penalty kicks :banghead:

Hunt at Right Back?

And play Nathan in goal. he would be good on crosses as his arms are always up in the air:wave:

Let them worry about US rather than the other way around!!

It astounds me that we have this problem on the right hand side of the pitch and the national team have this problem on the left hand side of the pitch. Maybe we should combine the best parts of both sides and then bingo! problem solved one team with no problems down either side of the pitch. :fishing:

The point I was making is that fans make it seem like a problem where it's just what happens at this level:
Wood over-hits a ball "he's a non-stop runner"; Williams over-hits a ball "he's worse than Shakes".
Dickson shanks the ball forward "well, he's got to miss one or two"; Osborne shanks it out for a goal kick "his distribution is terrible".
Poole gets skinned by a winger "he's a lazy b****rd"; Halls gets skinned by a winger "he's a lazy b****rd"... you can't win 'em all!

Hunt at Right Back?

At times Halls just oozes class at this level. And he's shown he can get forward and when he does, because of his skill, I generally assume he'll do something costructive with it. By trying to play football he does occasionally lose possession but (so long as it doesn't lead to a goal being conceded!!) I can forgive him that. Karleigh is a much better centre half than he is a right back.
