Formula 1 2012

Bruno Senna driving Williams. A bit emotional as it was his Uncles team when he crashed.

Williams could be a bit of a dark horse, an awful season for them last year and plenty of changes for this season.

Doesn't look like we shall be seeing Barrichello in an F1 car this season which is a shame. He is a great ambassador for the sport and all round good bloke.

Formula 1 2012

Kubica not expected to be fit for the first few races, does this put his placed on a team in doubt ?

he slipped on ice a week or so ago and re-broke his leg and has had another operation, Kimi has now been signed by Lotus and Kubica is now without a team as far as I know

Kimi at Lotus could be a dark horse. There new car is apparently very quick.

How would they know?

Well they have the edge in the technical race with a new ride height breaking system which only Ferrari are close to copying. Obviously they cannot test it yet but we have seen what teams getting slight technical advantages can do a la Button and Brawn GP.

:banghead: 6 posts in and you have mentioned he who must not be named !

Please refrain from referrring to Britain's Number 1 driver in this thread this season.
Can we call him Susan this season, in order that the GPG's own Murray Walker (no N) can give us the full payload of his views

thanks :sorted:

Only team with a vacancy is HRT and they're going to be at the back of the field as they've not got their car ready (again).

Senna has always looked a far superior driver to Maldonado (who is only in the sport because of $$$). Maldonado got his only point when he should have been on the plane home. His behaviour in several races was disgusting.

Shame it has already been banned.

Think Sky are going to produce a fantastic show. Will only be watching that.

Sold yourself to Murdoch and his cronies. :yuck:

Better off without I reckon. I'll be watching the BBC. Don't tell me the results though! :banghead:

I've had to go the way of Sky too, I might've been happy with 5 live but not with that **** James Allen on there

Croft and Brundle will make a superb partnership I think. The fact that Sky are a dedicating a whole channel to it makes me think it will be fantastic to watch.
The good people left on BBC are DC and EJ.

My (more fun predictions) are:

Lewis Hamilton to bear a T Shirt after a race, where Allan McNish penalises him again, bearing the words "Why Always Me".
Fernando Alonso to discover Eyebrow wax.
Pastor Maldonado to confuse F1 2012, the game, with real life and try and ram people off the track.
Martin Brundle to interview somebody random on a grid walk and ask "Who are you, what are you doing here?"
Joey Barton to sponsor Caterham with his Twitter handle and selected tweets.
Bernie Ecclestone to announce that the 2013 World Championship will have a race in Antarctica, followed by Mars in 2014.

Formula 1 2012

I'm looking forward to see how Senna does in the Williams this year. He put in some decent races towards the end of last season. As much as I would like to watch it on the BBC (their coverage was fantastic for 2011), i think i'll end up watching it on Sky for continuity sakes. Really hope someone gets a bit closer to challenging Vettel this year.

One of the ugliest I remember, nose wise.

Formula 1 2012

The walrus look was not the best, but is a bit of a beauty when compared with the new era or error of platypus schnozas.

You can always rely on McLaren to produce an aesthetically pleasing car. This was one of my favourites:

Formula 1 2012

Excellent start for McLaren, Lewis and Jenson on the front row. Can't remember the last time Vettel was so low down and have to laugh at the Ferrari's, didn't even make the top 10

Formula 1 2012

Great to see Lewis do so well. Grosjean was excellent as was Schumacher. Ferrari's worst qualifying since Malaysia 2009. Their worst grid slots was Monaco 2006 (due to Schumacher getting all his times deleted)

As for HRT, they have come to the first race with a car that is just not good enough AGAIN. :(

Formula 1 2012

Good to see a Lotus near the front of the grid. Look to see Shumacher get a flying start and try to muscle his way into the lead.

Formula 1 2012

Alonso in the gravel. Brilliant start to the weekend, lets hope he keeps up the same form in the race.

Formula 1 2012

Well done Jenson :bound:

Bad luck Lewis

Formula 1 2012

Great drive from the Frome Flier, really showed the value of looking after your tyres.

Formula 1 2012

Safety Car screwed Lewis over sadly allowing Vettel through. He benefited hugely in Valencia a couple of years ago. Swings and roundabouts.
Amazed Maldonado wasn't (at least) investigated after running Grosjean off the road. He got his comeuppance in the end.
Great drives from Perez and Kobayashi (hope they're not disqualified like they were last year).
Shame for Schumacher as well.

Formula 1 2012

Maldonado had the race line and wasn't at fault. Grosjean should've pulled away from the race line and taken himself wider.

Formula 1 2012

Driven off the track? Maldonado has previous for trying to take drivers out.

Formula 1 2012

rofl lol rofl lol rofl lol rofl lol rofl lol

I know, totally gutted for the cheating German barsteward.

I'd like to see him once more (and I never thought I'd say that in his Ferrari days). I do want to see a non Red Bull/McLaren/Ferrari winner.

Formula 1 2012

Great drive from the best British driver on the grid :hat:

I actually agree with WP, after seeing the replay of the race on BBC last night.
A fair pass by Maldonado (Maldonaldo actually means BAD DUCK in Spanish)

Well done to Button, great start to the season :owusu:

Formula 1 2012

Fantastic race today. Perez was the star of the show for me. Shame a couple of mistakes denied him the win. Great to see Senna do so well as well. Two top talents for the future.

Great Sky coverage once again.

Oh good. I Haven't got Sky, not sold my soul to Murdoch just yet, unlike some :fishing: so will be good to watch it live. An Early Sunday morning I reckon.....

I'm happy the BBC spends some of my money on this. Better than watching MoTD and MoTD2. :zzzzz:

I reckon it was 'Salford' who sabotaged Jenson's car too. Nasty piece of work. :mad2:

Come on Mr Button. A China GP win beckons. :bound:

The kid ain't daft. A very convenient mistake I'd say......Soon to replace Massa & driving a Ferrari engined car. He knows which side his bread is buttered on.

Watched the Sky coverage for Australia and BBC last weekend. Got to say with the exception of Brundle it was pretty poor, Damon Hill is obviously incredible knowledgeable but came across as quite boring as is the presenter Simon Lazenby. Imagine the legends programmes are quite good but really don't think it's worth paying for when you look at how good the Beeb's coverage is.

Amazing race

Shame Perez couldn't have won but should have pitted at same time as Alonso

Good to see Paul Di Resta in 7th

I've been impressed. Build up is a vast improvement on last year. Croft and Brundle have gelled superbly.
Going to be even better in the European season with pretty much all the build up on a race weekend (GP2, GP3).

Really wanted to see a Peter Sauber car win a race. Great team and they give young talent a chance. Both Perez and Kobayashi have a great future.

He is also a member of the Ferrari Driving Academy.

Sunday was a bit of leveler, if he can get a few more decent finishes under his belt it will be a lot more likely.

Slightly off topic but...

I like F1 but I am not paying for Sky.
I like football but I am not paying for Sky.
I like cricket but I am not paying for Sky.
I like Rugby but I am not paying for Sky.
I like Darts but I am not paying for Sky.
I like Boxing.....

I resent the way that Sky have bought all of our sporting institutions and I refuse to pay vast amounts of money to watch them.
