Frank Onyeka (Joined Coventry City)
He would have played Monday night against WHuHe wouldn't have played so how would it have helped anyone?

And didn't buy Eze, Olise or Marmoush. It's not an exact science.Yet Matthew Benham bought him twice.
I suspect a fee will have already been agreed should Cov get promoted mate.Whilst I still think he's criminally underrated by many...him doing well is only good for us if we are going to offload him.
For a regular starter that their fans absolutely love...it wouldn't be a stretch to ask for at least £15m (or more) once they're promoted and flush with PL cash.
Maybe so....maybe not. We might just have indicated we'll be willing to sell if all goes well!I suspect a fee will have already been agreed should Cov get promoted mate.
In a nut shell!Glad hes doing well at Coventry.
But that doesnt cloud the fact he isnt good enough for us. Yeah he might be getting game time for us if he was here............... Thats because we are well short in certain areas.
Good luck to him, we need better.
They have an obligation to buy if the are promoted, they wouldn't have that clause and then say ok we're promoted how much do you wantMaybe so....maybe not. We might just have indicated we'll be willing to sell if all goes well!

Ah. Didn't know about the obligation so yeah I'm sure there's a number too. They have an obligation to buy if the are promoted, they wouldn't have that clause and then say ok we're promoted how much do you want![]()
If the terms aren't fixed then I reckon we could easily have asked for that. That's peanuts these days.We aren't getting 15m![]()
I don't know for sure of course but i expect the obligation goes both ways, they must buy and we must sell at the agreed price if promoted.Ah. Didn't know about the obligation so yeah I'm sure there's a number too.
Although, having never read the fine-print, I wonder whether such an obligation commits the seller to a deal, or just commits the buyer to an offer at a certain price.
The Prem is a squad game not a first 11 game. If he was here he would be getting minutes at present as most people agree. And if that's the case, those minutes would be ahead of some current squad members. So you are effectively saying those players are not good enough. Great support.Glad hes doing well at Coventry.

Too similar to NorgaardI'm not sure how he did on loan at Augsberg last year, but perhaps the problem wasn't Frank at all, it was, err, Frank (the other one). Maybe he didn't rate him, or he just didn't get the best out of him in terms of positioning, instructions, or maybe he was too similar to Norgaard.
Don't see Arsenal buying Frank the Tank...Too similar to Norgaard![]()
You may well be right.Let’s see if Coventry’s fans are as complimentary after they’ve been playing in the Premier League for a few months.
Yeah, different players, but I meant positionally. Playing Onyeka in a role he's less happy with because he's not going to play defensive midfield if Norgaard's available.Too similar to Norgaard![]()
Alternatively, by leaving it open we could have found him coming back for preseason here.If the terms aren't fixed then I reckon we could easily have asked for that. That's peanuts these days.

It was made clear in the announcement that it will be permanent subject to conditions, which we understand to be linked to promotion. Fee has definitely been pre-agreed.Maybe so....maybe not. We might just have indicated we'll be willing to sell if all goes well!

Frank Onyeka joins Sky Bet Championship club Coventry City on loan for the remainder of the season; the deal will become permanent in the summer should the Sky Blues secure promotion to the Premier League.
Bit patronising that.Frank was decent enough with obvious serious limitations. The fact that he is one of Cov's standouts illustrates what a struggle they will have next season.
I don’t think many Sky Blue fans think he’s a stand-out; the more general opinion seems to be that he enables other players to stand out.Frank was decent enough with obvious serious limitations. The fact that he is one of Cov's standouts illustrates what a struggle they will have next season.
Very true, the Coventry fans are loving him atm but as you say it just highlights the challenge they will have staying in the PL next season if they go up, without some serious upgrades.Frank was decent enough with obvious serious limitations. Most football fans confuse movement with action.Very true, the Coventry fans are loving him atm but as you say it just highlights the challenge they will have staying in the PL next season if they go up, without some serious upgrades.
I only watched from about 40 minutes in, and at the very end of the first half, he played a nice long forward ball to a player on the left wing, but I really don't recall him touching the ball in the 2nd half until he was rightly subbed.Back to headless chicken running round mode again today.
Not sure he even touched the ball
They are obligated to buy if promoted so imho a fee must already have been set.I suspect a fee will have already been agreed should Cov get promoted mate.
They must love his movement then. Most football fans confuse movement with action.
Yeah I realised that after people said it the first and second times…the third and fourth haven’t really changed matters. It was made clear in the announcement that it will be permanent subject to conditions, which we understand to be linked to promotion. Fee has definitely been pre-agreed.
I am amazed how many do not understand these things. As if we are stupid enough to sign an obligation to transfer without agreeing a fee first. They are obligated to buy if promoted so imho a fee must already have been set.
.
Blimey. Var and that’s a red

The rumoured agreed buy price on top of a loan fee gives us both I think. As his transfer fee to come will have been fully accounted for the buy price will be pure in year profit.Years ago we would let a player go if somebody waved a ten bob note at us not anymore, if we let a player go now it's because we're being offered a serious increase on our initial outlay, or they're deemed to be not good enough for the Prem, sadly Frank falls into the second category.
Does anyone have any idea on what the fee is if he gets promoted with Coventry?
7?Between 6 /8 mill I heard
Was it because your tracksuit top reminded him of that classic Cov away kit from the 70s?I was pulled up by a cov fan whilst wearing my brown tracksuit top at Cockfosters on Saturday.
To say he was putting superlatives was putting it mildly
