Keeping out of the sun with that ginger Barnet and ghost like complexion
No.Have we really only got 2 friendlies?
Already played 1 , think at least one more bcd plus Rennais and Frankfurt .Have we really only got 2 friendlies?
We started slow last season as looked out of (match) practice.
We're playing Frankfurt bcd in the morning of our game as wellAlready played 1 , think at least one more bcd plus Rennais and Frankfurt .

You're assuming that Sky knows every friendly that we are playing. They don't.Don’t want to bangs on about it - but I will.
Only Fulham have less pre-season friendlies than the bees.

Keith Andrews has taken us as far as he can ?Really concerning we only beat a league one side 3-2. I think our luck might be out next season…
What do you think is the purpose of a pre-season friendly?I’m skeptical that a behind closed doors friendly training game is as impactful as a proper match with customers.
Like a penalty shootout in training it’s not the same thing as being in a real one.
Personally I think we should always have a minimum of three friendlies against Championship/Ligue1/SerieA opposition or better.
I think there SHOULD be various purposes. Some to do with match fitness but some should be to do with gelling as a team and/or units on the field. What do you think is the purpose of a pre-season friendly?

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking we’ve neglected the latter before and looked a game or so short of where we should be in that regard.
That being even more important if the first team is going to different from the previous season due to injuries/transfers/healing.
Indeed. (I can see a lot of posts starting with this word from now on!)Well im happy we not travelling all over the world like spurs and Chelsea in Oz and Liverpool playing Sunderland in Nashville.
100% better what we are doing in my mind and Keith Andrews as well.
Look at last season pre season was chaos and we still had a great seasonimage what we can do now
Without taking the piss. I always thought the Hampton games were good value and well attended.Personally I think its a real shame that Brentford havent done their bit for the local non-league scene and arranged a money spinning game for one of our junior neighbours. Like we used to do for Boreham Wood and did for Shepherds Bush Rangers last year.
My view is that a behind closed doors training game is never really going to be the same as a game at a stadium in front of the fans. It’s not about the facilities. Even a lot of “friendlies” are going to be not quite as good as a proper match…but closer.Understand that but why does it matter whether that is done in front of a crowd or at a training ground? It used to matter because of the quality of pitches but now our training pitches are the equivalent of the Gtech.
Hydration breaks and mass/rolling substitutions…I always imagined a behind closed door game would have the coaches being more vocal around the pitch and even a few team talks during the game?
I guess they do need to ensure the pitch is flat and that is hard work!Hydration breaks and mass/rolling substitutions…
Also Fulham lost to Norwich yesterday (behind closed doors) apperently. You're assuming that Sky knows every friendly that we are playing. They don't.
I believe the game was at Craving Cottagers, but their owner was charging £60 to watch it so only Hugh Grant and that dippy singer Doris Allen turned upAlso Fulham lost to Norwich yesterday (behind closed doors) apperently.
Well its 20 pound and tenner juniors for there friendly the same weekend as us.I believe the game was at Craving Cottagers, but their owner was charging £60 to watch it so only Hugh Grant and that dippy singer Doris Allen turned up
We'll see i suppose. Clearly it's the received wisdom, but obviously we like seeing what can be done differentlyMy view is that a behind closed doors training game is never really going to be the same as a game at a stadium in front of the fans. Facilities aren’t the issue.

So many WC players missing leaves it little more to than a B team training fixtureAgain, it seems all about money. I would imagine the likes of the clubs you have listed above are getting 7 figures for the tours listed. Yes they get a lot of exposure around the world but down under ?
I guess that we would have teased that one place higher in the league is worth more than a fancy, different time zone, long tiring tour.
Also I was told when we did America a couple of years ago the players were not keen.

Unlikely as they have Daggers, Norwich and Chelsea to fit in before their season starts....When’s Borehamwood being announced?![]()
