Jake Reeves and Luke Norris also made appearances during the 2011-12 season (ie. same as Oyeleke). Since then, I don't think an U18 has received even so much as a first team squad number.

I think its more than that and the club have ambitions to get to Cat 1 status academy.

It'll take some time for it to bear fruit. The first true intake (2023-24) has produced 4-5 B teamers (only one of whom is a regular - Ollie Shield). The rest went into non-league, US college or free agency. The 2024-25 intake has seen Luka Bentt and Michel Boni go on and look like they'll have professional careers. But yeah, long gone are the days of 10 professional contracts being handed out to the second year scholars and the end of the season.

They need to have an u18 team but in reality that u18 who comes through the ranks is probably either a teenager at Chelsea or a 10 year old at Brentford.
