Ironically though, I guess Craig must have kept him out of the side most of the time last season? (as wasn't he seen as a left back by millwall?) make of that what you will!

"Millwall on the left..."! He must come with a recommendation and I'd expect we've run the ruler over a number of Millwall's spare parts. A permanent LB with decent pedigree and (hopefully) an understanding with our left CB has got to be good news.

Corret me if I'm wrong but didn't they say on the Milwall forum that he was a quick attacking minded left back but they didn't like him that much? Sure it was him.

Like to think that young Master Redwood would give him some serious competition for the starting spot this season, he's been impressive in the limited amount of game time I've seen him.

I think he's a similar style of player to Dickson but a bit more solid. Played fairly regularly at championship-level and for a successful league one team... so can't be half bad! Hope he signs...

So Millwall are the new Watford, fair enough.
If signed (still if's until it's done) could be a decent player, though I don't know too much about him at the moment. Doesn't sound too bad on paper...
If the reason the Millwall fans aren't overly fond of him is for elements that we like in our defenders (i.e. attacking), maybe he'll become a better payer here as a result, a club that plays to his strengths.

Millwall seem delighted to see the back of him. Does sound like an attacking full back so hopefully has some pace as the defence lacks a bit of that at the moment. Man United have done well with 2 slow centre backs and quick full back over the last few seasons.

If a club a league above was absolutely gutted about losing one of their best players to a lower league team, we'd all be dreaming. Of course we are going to be getting players that fans are unsure of from a higher league, either untested premiership stuff or unwanted championship stuff. This guy has successful experience at this level and that's all i need to know. Uwe and his staff are meant to see players and think they can do something with them, make them great again. Hopefully he's right on this one.
We wanted a LB, and we are going to get one. Now we might get one our expectations have shot up, sounds about right. It would also be nice not to have to rely on loanees for a season.

Dickson type ?........I wonder if we actually tried to get " the genuine article" ?.......................anyway let's not start judging until we see him play, but I think people were expecting something different, time will tell Uwe !

Was our 'man of the play-offs' the year we went up. Should have had two pens in the away game, hit the bar in the home game and set up Robbo's goal. Then marked Danny Ward out the game in the final at right back. He' not a bad player, but KJ moving him around had meant he hasn't really established at any position (like Smith to an extent). He's a 'half' player, as was Craig. Barron limited in defence, Craig limited in attack. Throw them together and you've got a decent full back

Well, the discussions here have highlighted that the fans do need reassuring that the club is bringing in the targets in the areas we all know we need to. I'm slightly surprised on the official release they don't state he's a left back until the fourth paragraph.
The striker situation is the next obvious weak spot, but at least we now have got a starting XI now with all our positions filled. The LB was more important than a third striker so glad it's now filled.
