Can anyone tell whose contracts are up in the summer?

Can anyone tell me who's contracts are up at the end of this season. I understand that both Sodje and Tabb are out of contract at the end of the season...............if this is true i cannot see, unless we get promotion, how on earth we will manage to keep them at Griffin Park.

I was over the moon yesterday that we managed to keep hold of Sodje, Tabb and Turner yesterday but if they're contract are up in the summer........what happens then, especially if we dont get promoted.

Surely we cannot gob thru what happened a few years back when the likes of Owusu, Ivar, Smithy, Rowlands have all left on a free's.

Can anyone clear this up.

I think Sodje signed a new deal not long ago, and we have an option on Tabby.

I could be wrong though, I usually am.

What does an option on Tabb mean?

I think we cannot loose him for free as he has come thru the ranks.

An option means we can offer him a new contract or let him go but he can't just **** off.

what if he doesn't want to sign the contract we offer him..........sorry to be so pessimistic but we have some wonderful young players it would be a awful to lose them all.

Of all the great players we have, DJ would have been the one I would have let go if it had to be someone..........i'm sure Willock will do well for us.

At a guess both Hutch and Rankin are out of contract in the summer.

I'd be confident that if MA wanted to keep those two then we could keep them.....................Turnet, Tabb, Sodje i'm not too sure about......................hopefully they are all contracted did here that Sodj's contract was up at the end of season.

Rankin has been playing really well lately if he just worked on his fitness he could do wonders along side Owusu...

We hold the cards in the deal. He agreed to the option when he signed the original contract.

It just means if we change our mind or we can't afford him we can let him go without having to pay him any compensation.

However the "option" if taken up by BFC has to include an increase in current terms. :fishing:

Fitzgerald signed a two year contract when his loan expired.
Brooker signed a 3 year deal. Gayle 1 year (so he will be out of contract end of season). Owusu 2 year deal. Sodje, O'Connor, Tabb, Turner & Frampton summer 2007. Hutchinson 1 year extension (so he's nearly expired) along with Newman too who signed 1 year deal.
I actually think Rhodes contract expires this summer. :fishing:

Ok so we should get some money for Sodje when he goes in the summer.. :fishing:

Lets hope Rhodes manages to get a few games in before the summer to prove his fitness etc..

Very surprised Hutch turned down a move then if his contract is up in the summer..

If his girlfriend is pregnant and doesn't want to move, then he is probably better off waiting till the summer. that way, there is no transfer fee involved and he can try and negotiate higher wages/signing on fee.

It depends what happens this season .Hopefully we'll go up and every one will want to stayand we can afford them to .if we dont we sell them all and play the youth team and MA booggers off to Barca ,easy ,easy ,easy

Jay Tabb's contract runs out at the end of this season. However he can't go on a free as he is under 24. It would go to a tribunal and we'd get compensation for him. Fact.

True that we'd get a tribunal, but they tend to undervalue players from the cases I can remember. Would hope we can get him signed up for a couple of years more, though his willingness to sign may depend on whether we get promotion as he's presumably hoping to move up a level

His girlfriend is the sister of an ex-Bee now playing in Conference South so my father says.
His neighbour no less.

His ex-neighbour the other side was/is (?) at Southend. Neil Jenkins ex of Wimbledon

I find it very surprising that Tabby hasn't been offered a new contract by now. Sam Tillen fully deserves a new deal, but he's still has a bit to do to match Tabby in terms of his importance to Brentford FC. Let's hope we hear something on this in the near future.

Tabby is having a great season. MA played him centre mid just in emergencies, but through the quality of his play & proving he can mix it in there with the big ugly northern boys, Tabby has moved ahead of Hutch in the centre mid pecking order. To cap it off, he even got selected CM in preference to Pratley on Tuesday night.

Hoping that at least for part of the Charlton match, Tabby rides again in centre mid, I think he is a genuine threat to them.

Who says he hasn't? We only get to hear about it when the contracts are signed.

my mates were talking to jay tabb on the train{day of the walsall game}he said that everyone wants to go up this year and nobody will leave if we do,including m allen

Mind you he would say that, when speaking to fans. :rolleyes: I'm sure he would love to stay, but if the terms are not right and someone else offers some big bunce, he no doubt would do what anyone one would do when weighing up options. :fishing:

I doubt if Tabb will stay if promotion isn't achieved. He's seen Hunt and Sonko move on and look at what they're doing! I think he'll wait till the summer to find out what's best for him. Who can blame him really.
