PHEW!

Not a good peformance, nervous & long ball.
Nelly made some fantastic saves, but also silly mistakes.
Smith & Frampton good, solid performances, Framps getting forward more often but delivery not up to standard.
Central defence also seemed solid but too often were pulled apart and chances against were frequent.
No midfield, Tabby worked hard but to no effect, other 3 AWOL.
Lloydy once again had chances but was mainly dominated by their No. 5, and struggled with his usual flick-ons. MOM Rankin really wanted it today, running off Lloyd, unlucky that the ball fell behind or away from him. Held up the ball well and was busy all the match, a deserved goal.
From the start it looked as if we had the measure of them but they came back into the game and it was no surprise when they scored. The second half was more ours, although they did look dangerous on the break. It was a relief when Shaw went off. We were guilty of hoofing it forward but I feel that this was down to a poor midfield than a tactic from the start.
Rhodes looked very positive when he came on & helped in our coming back into the game, Marcus & Tillen had less effect but both improved the look of the team.

What a surreal afternoon.

I took my son to Arsenal this afternoon as my nerves were frazzled from sitting through Gillingham, MK Dons and Colchester.

I probably watched about 10 mins of the game - Dennis Bergkamp Day with most of the fans dressed in Orange as I sat there listening to Radio London which kept getting overridden by some bloody local pirate music stations and glaring at my phone waiting for one of a series of increasingly gloomy (but welcome - thanks Mate) texts from Edmund.

It seems we got out of jail and are limping over the finish line. Everyone is looking over their shoulder at Forest and it would seem that nay team that can put 2 consecutive wins together might well go up.

I don't think I would get over the heartache of not goi gup this season given what will be in store for us next season so I will do my best not to keep thinking about it and worrying about what might be.

We are still second, a point clear and I can only pray that after four more games all around w ewill still be there - battered but unbowed.

The subs seemed to change the game and for once they were at the right time. Good second goal frm Rankin which was about the only thing he did.

Good to see MA in the crowd before the match, had a good chat with him and he answered all my questions. I asked about CW and MA's response was he needs to start training and putting some effort into the training ground, hasnt been impressed but is sure he will come good. on Fitz, Walsall sent him back and they will continue paying his wages until end of season however he cannot play for us. Someone asked re Oli and MA gave us a smile saying he will play before the end of the season so fingers crossed. MA had ear-marked this game as Pratleys game saying he needs him to be at his best today just like the start of the season, the reason why he's been a bit out of sorts is rushed him back frm injury to quickly and MA was quick to say that he had to do that, nerves were high in the team he said and he was saying how good it is that we constantly still support the team and that they always try and give 100% (the players). Top man for coming over for a chat.

well rankin was up for it today andscored a good goal although it was hearts in the mouth as the ref consulted the lnio who had his flag raised.. you could hear a pin drop while they chatted in . jeez that was a long minute. the ref was a good one gained more bonus points than he lost and I would happily have him every game left. and that isnt because he awarded that 2nd goal. once more the was a fracas with the stewards with a bees fan being ejected quite rightly for jumping onto the running track when we equalised but then the stewards decided to celebrate the 2nd rotherham goal right in front of us a few minutes later which obviously caused some resentment and words were exchanged. In the end the chief protagonist was sent away by the chief steward but why should the stewards be allowed to provoke like that?

all in all another point in the stumble towards promotion with everyone now looking over there shoulders at the fast approaching forest.. I just hope the finish line comes soon.

Definitely a point gained rather than two lost.

Overall a poor performance mainly due to a non-existant midfield.
Tabby was rubbish on the left but improved 100% when he was moved to the middle 2nd half after rhodes came on.
Pratley - another ineffective game.
Strikers worked hard and got most of their shots on target but had very little to feed on (thanks to the crap midfield). Both got deserved goals.
Not the best of games for Turner/Sodge - were caught out of position a few times.
Frampton was excellent again.
Smith has improved.
Nelson overall good - made two superb saves in the first half.

My brother and I walked away relieved and happy with a point after hearing the other results. We're still 2nd. Beat Blackpool and we're almost there.

With Smith limping off we do need Kev back sharpish, Tillen can slot in there and to bee honest i prefer him to Smith who seemed to get run ragged a bit today thought he was defo at fault for their 2nd by not cutting out the cross.

Definately. He was off his game 1st half on the left and i thought he could have been subbed but rightly Newman was and as soon as Tabby slots into centre mid he was hungry, wanted the ball, got the ball, ran at them we defo lloked a lot better with him in centre mid.

A lucky point with Nels being MOTM.
Tabb had a bad day at the office and the other three midfielders were waank.
Brooker started brightly but faded and the two in the middle were nowhere in defence or attack. Brooker and Newman subbed without too much applause but strangely and rightly Smith was clapped off proving that you can't fool the punters. :wave:

Owusu and Rankin were isolated trying to feed off flicks on but not doing it very well whilst they seemed to have time, vision and pace.:sad:
Could have nicked it at the end.lol

Must win on Monday and please give Brooker and Newman a rest as they seem tired and I'm tired of watching them.

A very lucky point.

Could easily had been three down at half time - Nelson had excellent 1st half. Thankfully, his fumble over the goal line in the 2nd half was not in front of goal !

Not sure whether Rankin's goal was a deliberate attempt ?

Watching that match as a neutral, you would have wondered who was going for promotion and who was fighting relegation.

Must start on Monday with the same line up that finished today and for God's sake, KEEP THE BALL ON THE FLOOR !

How do you lot get back so quickly? I don't even have to go as far as most of you yet still have only just got in. Anyway, definitely a point gained in the end though Marcus nearly nicked it at the death. That would have been wonderful, especially with the old bloke and those kids and that geezer in the white tracksuit and white cap in the black seats giving it 'large' when they scored their second. Rankin was impressive today, very keen and involved. I still like Pratley in midfield though others seem to disagree. I still think we get more from him and Tabb together. Nobody played badly, even Smith did some good stuff. His run and cross led to the corners, from which we scored. We got caught out for their second goal but ground it out eventually. Have to say Rotherham, the place, does typify the saying 'grim 'oop north'. Come on Bees, nearly there.

A strange game with an excellent entertaining second half.

Ref was excellent. Can't really add much to the reports other then I can't believe people are saying Jamie Smith played well when he was at fault for both goals.

First goal refused to go for preety much a free header, there bloke puts the ball across and they head home the first.

Second goal they boot it down our right flank Smith gets destroyed good cross and the sort of finish we've been crying out for all season.

Furthermore I thought he bottled other headers and other challenges. Looked better then he has in the past but he's not the answer for this run in. We looked far stronger with Tillen at right back.

I personally thought that Frampton had a very good game, he ran his heart out and got blocks in when he needed to. Still don't rate Smith but give him his dews, it was the best performance I have seen of him. The team looked alot more balanced once Newman was off the pitch. Nelson kept us in the game again with some superb saves however Turner and Sodje both seemed tired but still played pretty well. Pratley wasn't too bad but Brooker didn't seem that interested. Lastley Rankin's performance was ok, not the worst he has had and he seemed half interested today. Great turn out from the supporters and lots of noise made again.....

Thought it was a decent game to be honest with both teams going for it and pretty much end to end stuff for most of the game with four decent goals. Well worth the trip.

The way we came back from behind twice was very encouraging for the run in.....heads did not drop!!

Rotherham made the mistake of trying to sit on their lead....twice...and both times we took over and got one back. I thought we were going to knick it in the end. Nothing lucky about the point IMHO.

Framps was immense, Nelson brilliant and Turner was just the Turner we have come to know. Sodje had his usual game, brilliance mixed with lapses of concentration and Owusu worked his nuts off, decent game for him I thought. The subs were good and the best ref we have had this season, (like above we were saying that well before he allowed our second goal).

If anybody ever moans about the Princess Royal again then show them a picture of their "refurbished" away bar!!

I thought it was pretty dire again.
I was so mad at letting in a soft goal before half time that I sat motionless when we equalised.
I really want this season over as I cant really take much more..

Nelson was excellent and Turner again outshone those around him.
I actually didn't think Brooker was having too bad a game today although will someone tell Pratley that he has to put in some effort to draw a wage at our club?

Newman was ineffective as usual and I just felt we lacked passion and urgency.. This bloody division is for the taking but we don't seem to want to take it by the scruff of the neck..

Thank God for a little 'light relief' on the way back...Junction Nine of the M1 can provide so much entertainment after a hard day at the office!

Yes, but apart from these he did alright and don't forget he was only on the pitch for 75 or 80 minutes. Trying to look for the positives here.

We are so fortunate that the other teams are slipping up otherwise we would be buggerd, but come on bees lets win our last 4 games,

No shots apart from the goals really, very bad

Great atmosphere and jsut about under 1000 bees

What happened to you at junction 9? By the time I got there it was 40 mph through the same roadwoorks that were there for the MK Dons game and look as though they'll be there for a few trips north next season too. Some guy came on 606 to say he'd been at Millmoor and thought we'd snatch the second spot but I can't say it brightened my journey home too much (though I was looking around for a fellow car user on the phone). I'm assuming I missed something good.

A route one performance. Nelson's kicking was awesome. High, long and I can't recall it once going for a throw in. This was clearly Plan A (there didn't seem to be any other plans).
Owusu was the target and he worked his socks off to try to get the flick on that would open them up.It never came.
Rotherham were very good. They have to be or it is goodbye for them. So must all the rest we face for this run in. It's so tight at the bottom they all fancy their chances.

Nelson's fumble. It was their corner and we had 2 men NOT BACK. We had 2 men on the halfway line. The corner passed the goal. Nelson ran to retrieve it before it went for a goalkick. His eyes turned toward the once in a lifetime chance of a quick clearance, from a corner, and he lost the ball. He was being positive not nervous.

Agree with this.

Turner/Frampton/Sodje/Nelson/Owusu same names that put so much into the game its a wonder we come away with the points with the rest below par.

Tabby didn't come into the game till he went central. I think Tabby and Pratley/Hutchinson should be our middle pairing with Tillen left and Brooker right. Newman does nothing but moan. Rankin not performing although he took his goal well, but he doesn't get in the right places where a forward should be.

Interesting to see if Smith is now out after pulling his hamstring,by the looks of it, making a stretch for clearing the ball in the six yard box.

Very frustrating again.

First half we played direct to Owusu who won nothing in the air vs their centre backs. They won every 50-50 knock down, and should have been 3-1 at half time.

As soon as Brooker came off and Tabb was in the centre we were in control. When they went to 4-5-1 at the end, we were the only team who were going to win.

Play like we did 2nd half and we'll beat Blackpool easy. I'll take a draw after being behind twice.

Another poor performance and not an enjoyable afternoon in the least. Tabby wasn't on top of his game, which showed how much we rely on him to create. Another crucial goal from Lloyd, but another poor miss in the first half that wasn't far off being as bad as the one last week.

Second half I think they only had one shot (what a stupid goal to give away), but despite the amount of possession we had, we just didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck.

How we are still second god only knows, but it can only be a matter of time before someone strings 4 points together and puts us out of our misery. Another draw coming on Monday I reckon........

Just got back..bit of a nerve racking game..however credit to the boys for coming back twice..and Lloyd nearly scoring at the end..no real stars..however I thought Messiah was well involved today..IMHO..I thought we were a bit unlucky to go behind before HT..when you think that their keeper saved a Lloyd shot with his legs...Got back into it with Lloyds goal..however straight away gave away a soft 2 goal when the defence went missing.. :nono:

We also got lucky when Turner knocked over their man in the box..Putting Messiah on the left gave him the chance to use his pace..then his goal..lol ..not sure what the Ref. spoke to the linesman about..maybee somebody will find out..Officials did ok...nice to see MA..talking with the fans prior to KO..not hiding behind a press conference microphone..all in all an ok day really...YOU REDS... :wave:

Can't believe how difficult we're making this in what is the worst division in memory, but maybe just maybe we are going to hang on in there. Won't add too much to what's been said, other than to say I thought it was a fantastic strike by Rankin for the second equaliser.

And WTF was going on at the turnstiles? Queued for 20 minutes to get in, with 3 virtually unused turnstiles for those with tickets and one slow moving turnstile for those with cash. The stewards claimed that Brentford had told then that only 100 fans would turn up without tickets. If this is true, someone needs to be shot, as many Bees who turned up in good time missed the kick-off. As for Rotherham's inability or unwillingness to take cash at the three turnstiles for tickets, well, I'm afraid I have lost any sympathy for them as a club in their predicament. Absolute shambles. :mad1:

Had to laugh - was listening to the reports coming through from Radio London and when the 2nd goal went in, the commentator reckoned it was allowed because the Brentford player that was flagged was deemed to be inactive...and from previous reports it could have been any one of our midfield....lol

Not quite as meaningless as would appear at first sight......they ARE still fighting to avoid relegation (the 3 points they picked up came in very useful, and should now make them safe), but I suspect that the main reason of the large crowd was to commemorate the 'Hillsborough tragedy' of (was it as long ago as?) 1989......which again is something that could have been avoided, if only Richard Cadette had managed to put his early chance away, and Brentford had gone on to beat Liverpool in the quarter-finals!.........but 'it's Brentford, innit?'
