10 QUID!!!!!!!

Hmmm so its 10 quid to watch a half hearted run around with 10 subs being made from each side....

I was gonna take a peak at a couple of those games,but now i wont be...i think that is way too high for a nothing match..

Maybe fair enough if we had say Chelsea or Arsenal thats fair enough....

But i mean the friendly opposition is hardly exciting is it..

Is this price the norm...do other clubs take the piss like this or is it just us??????

Once again NO concessions for students or school children over 16!

Another ideal opportunity lost to get people through the turnstiles at a time when they are often looking for some form of entertainment.

What was the point of creating all the differnt membership categories for Season Tickets if when it becomes a pay at the door match you get no benefit from being a member? Be interesting to see what philosophy is adopted for cup matches?

£15 for a league match £10 for a pre-season freindly against better opposition.

But seriously as a comparison Non League outfits are charging around £7 for pre-season friendlies so I still think the, price is right

£9, £8, £7, £6, fiver ... what do you reckon is a fair price then ??? Considering I nearly choked last time I went to Hampton and Sutton and had to part with the best part of a £10 note I think the price is OK.

If ya don't wanna go take a trip to the bookies or something and try to turn the tenner you have saved into a larger denomination note !!!

Is £10 really that much? What does it equate to? 1 round of drinks. I don't think £10 is much to pay for 90 minutes of entertainment, even if they are meaningless games,

I don't think it's asking too much as already stated. Don't forget there are still stewarding etc issues that would need to be paid for.

Besides - at least Brentford have some decent home games. As a comparison, our game (Palace) against Fulham will cost 10 quid in advance and 15 on the night (which IS taking the pee !!!)

That's the whole point though. If you went to your local multi screen, you'd park free outside the door, pay less than a fiver to get in and have a choice of what to watch. Additionally, you'd have a fair idea before hand what quality the product was going to be.

Whilst we may not want to admit it we are being charged a tenner, with no concessions for students, although most cinemas still offer them, for what in effect is the equivalent of an old B movie. Whatsmore there is nowhere to park!

These games are in effect practice matches being played for the benefit of the coaches and players. They could be used by the club as a marketing/PR tool, but again the short term gain seems to have clouded the long term ambition. I'll pay a tenner but there are many who will not, and many students who cannot afford it.

It's no good people saying we're whinging again. The stark fact is that OUR club is slowly dying. It can be revived and there are many examples that can be followed. (Charlton and Watford spring to mind). However, these clubs value their supporters and offer significant concessions to not only the junior and senior (OAP) supporters but also their regular suporter. They have a more long term view of the situation and work to keep their customers satisfied rather than “screwing” (DTB this is not what you think!!!!) them at every opportunity. Often that appears to be what happens at Brentford.

Noades is always moaning that the support has not been at the level he expected. Well, he ought to take a look in the boardroom mirror for the answer. Things have taken a massive step in the right direction for the forthcoming season but what must not occur is complacency. The momentum needs to be maintained and in my view someone may just have taken their foot off the gas in respect of some of the pricing categories for the friendlies.

I posted last year about "friendly" and "practise" matches.Seems to me that ALL friendlies have become practise games.Unless a smaller club can attract BIG opposition,I fear people will not go.We have spoken before about the club touring.I still would like to see this happen!!Look how many clubs,smaller than ours,are touring Britain (and Eire) this pre-season!!

What if they opened the gates for a minimal fee, say a quid, or maybe even nothing at all. This is an ideal opportunity for some who wouldn't perhaps go to come in and sample the product. A kind of free test drive with no obligation, if you like.

You never know, this may even bring a few dozen, hundred or even thousand through the turnstiles throughout the season, and would make up for the loss of revenue on the night, with the potential of adding more to the average home league attendance.

The plus factor for the day of the freebie is that, with a larger than expected attendance, should bring with it a little extra atmosphere, and that could lead to giving a lasting impression to the extra few supporters, making them increasingly likely to return.

Sorry Boys, I'm normally one to ctitisize when the Club takes the piss but £10 seems fair to me?
Remembering the past,I wouldn't have been surprised at them charging full price.
Most clubs in the South are charging full price addmission at all of their pre season freindlies.
To be honest its a matter of choice. I personally hate these kick abouts,but plenty criticised when The Bees set up these games against poor or lower opposition.
I remember the fanzines stating just that..'why dont Brentford play higher league opponents and use these friendlies to get some much needed revenue..' Granted none of us know where this revenue is going anymore, but we cant have our cake and eat it all the time(I suppose some of the time would be nice though!)

As I posted before I don't think a tenner is that much and here's the proof. I have just got back from taking my in-laws and a nephew round Wobur Wildlife park. Cost for 1 adult, 2 OAP's and 1 child? £40. Time to drive round the park? 45-60 mins. Cost for a BFC pre season friendly at GP for the same people? £21.

Oh and if you book for all 3 pre seasons you get a free adult and junior ticket for any of the first 5 league games, as per new item on the official site.

There is more to Woburn than just the drive though, isn't there?

I don't think the price makes much difference in these cases. We are playing 1st Div sides at home who are not really attractive so the same people would go irrespective of the price. There will obviously be a few who won't go cos they dont want to part with a brown one but it wont make much difference overall.

As for the cinema argument, the overheads are much lower and there aren't 20+ professional footballers to pay at the end of the week so they can afford to charge less.
