Just heard some fact on Soccer AM that we pos had the lowest number of shots in Div 2 all season :eek: !

Excuse me if I am wrong but I am a tad hungover and only got the end of what Tim was saying :rolleyes:

No it wasn't just Div 2 - it was the whole Nationwide League. 167 shots on target which is over 200 fewer than Ipswich who topped the table.

Not really a surprise is it.

Often we came away from games remebering very few chances, this just proves that fact.

That we managed to be clear of the relegation zone is an achievement with that many efforts on goal.
I also presume Wally will be aiming to rectify the situation next season.

oh dear....shows a bit of a lack of confidence too, I think. Remember when Evo was blasting them in from all over at the beginning of last season? The confidence flowed through the team!

Spot on West Ealing...very few chances in many a game. Sad that Mr Somner was often the first person to take a shot in many matches n all!!! Too many of our players lacked the confidence to shoot which is why alot of our play and breaks often resulted in sideways play.

A midfielder and a striker that aint afraid to have a crack would be a start to next seasons squad.

Agreed that Dobbo historically has a very good shot on him, but he's also surprisingly scared to use it IMO. I think he'd take very few shots from midfield.

I also think that unfortunately his passing is too poor and that he lacks the engine for the midfield.

Welcome to the board.

I like the young players, last seasons squad did us proud and should be even more expirienced for the new campaign.

By all accounts lasts seasons youth team were pretty handy as well - winning the title suggests there must be some gems.

I'm quite confident about next year, the expierence gained last year, with a few youth players comming through and a few seasoned pros to steady the ship should do us all proud.

I say keep Efan Ekoku on the books.
He is big and strong and the perfect target man. He will also be cheap and I just feel he could do the business for us and become a new cult hero

calm down laddie, it's only a bit of humour :)

not seen any of Traynor yet, but keep hearing good things - he might well do us a good job next year. i agree with Ayes B basically, we have quite a bit of talent that should help recitfy that stat next year.

no no no and no!

he's AWFUL, i really mean it, and this was when i was watching him regularly at wednesday, who were complete cack at the time - Ekoku stuck out like a sore thumb for his ineptitude. Lazy and useless. Only good thing he did actually was somehow score a few goals :eek: 12 in 30 games i think, but a few penalties in that. if Wally plays him, then i hope to God he does a job for us, but I think a lot of Bee fans are making opinions on him purely on past reputation, whereas he's now quite old and er, not that good....

yes it does, most of his crosses end up in row z and we can't finish full stop!

We definitely did that at Mansfield, well two members of the BsC had an unexpected additional 87minutes to cram it in ;) :nono:
