Shame from a football point of view as Upton Park always seemed to have a good atmosphere, but I guess it would have ruined the legacy if they'd given it to Spurs.

It was always going to be West Ham. IMO Spurs were using it to get their other stadium plan approved.

I thought they had planning approval..although it sounds like there are other problems with the development, like it may cost too much.

It would have been a sad move for either club but at least this way round it means both get to stay within their home communities.

I expect Spurs will pursue a legal challenge but it won't change the outcome.

They build a crap athletics track without even a proper roof and then have absolutely no idea what to do with it after they have spent billions of our money on it. Seb Coe and all his athletics lovers should all be hanged. It's a bloody disgrace. Nobody gives a tinkers sh*t for athletics in this country and to keep an athletics track when quite honestly football is the only way forward is stupid. Put some dosh into Crystal Palace by all means but athletics and football do not mix.

I am very pleased. Although Upton Park isn't without it's charm the area is a sh*thole. Stratford is too obviously but you can walk from the station straight into the park.

Running track concerns me a little. But personally think they'll put rows of seats on it anyway so can't really see a problem.

Look forward to August 2014!!

They've just announced the route for the road cycling race - goes through Bushy Park, Walton, Weybridge, Byfleet.

Upton Park IS the area around it... and the nearby public park. The stadium is the Boleyn Ground.

I can see his point. But what is he hoping to get out of it?

The government are hardly going to rule West Ham can't get the stadium are they? All that money spent for two weeks then rendered useless?

I hope Hearn wins and West Ham either can't move to the stadium or they go there with lots of rules ie they can't give away tickets and they can't sell reduced price tickets and only members can get them, something like this, the small club rarely has a voice thats heard, Orient have my full support on this matter as it could happen to us one day.

Quite why West Ham want a stadium that big is beyond me, more often than not staying up by the skin of thier teeth, they will never fill the ground, the running track will be awful, it looks like the new owners have put the club from the chip pan into the fire and if they end up marooned in the championship for a long time I for one will be ecstatic.

I think every supporter of every club should get behind Leyton Orient on this one.
I am not anti West Ham United in any way but rules are rules and should be adhered to.

So West Ham fans who occasionally go to Orient need to keep the club alive?! Pah. The prices will be low for a couple of years but if all goes to plan and we turn into a top 6 club prices will increase anyway.

All of you who oppose West Ham moving in cos of Orient. Will you be happy that prob near a billion quid of your money will be wasted on a fortnight tournament? Do me a favour!! What do you suggest? We give it to Orient as it's in their catchment? Spend £90m on getting the ground ready for Leyton Orient? Or just give it to Athletics?!

West Ham is the only option.

have applied for tickets to the semi final and final (football), £30 and £40 respectively to be held at wembley, was hoping it was going to be at the olympic stadium but nevermind

Its ridiculously expensive. Was thinking of going to the Eventing but its £50 to stand in a field!!

Was At Lords (where the Archery is next year) today Watching Middlesex :( And heard "rumours" such as no other sporting event is allowed within 100 miles during the games :eek: if this is right as the Olympics more or less take over the Country what happens to football ? what happens to Cricket the Olympics last what 3 -4 weeks that takes out August and if true does this apply to the para Olympics
