Where's the fix? Surely if they wanted a fix they would have had Chelsea, Man City/Spurs, Portsmouth all at home against lower division opposition. This draw could see just 3 premier clubs left in the QF! Sunderalnd could easily beat Birmingham and West Ham have a good away record. Anyway maximum 5 premier left in last 8.

Anyone know what odds they're on? I can't check at work...

8 Prem teams (50% of draw)

yet 6 are drawn against each other to create TV games.

The %age of all-Prem games is suspect... the perfect amount to cover Sky and BBC games in all the rounds, much higher than the probability suggests.....

Don't believe that is what they want, they prefer fairy tale story build ups until the QF when they require as many premier teams as possible.

no, they reqiure 3-4 televisable games in every round....


last year's 3rd round..

Soton v Spurs
Man C v Liverpool
Villa v Blackburn
Chelsea v Boro
Fulham v Birmingham

31% of teams were Prem, but 50% matched up..

If thats the case why did they show Scarboro v Chelsea & Northampton v Man Utd? and likewise in the last round. What they prefer is a giant killing scenario and all premier tie.

Sky chose them (quite correctly) because they were proper giant-killing ties.. Notice that BBC didn't.

That might hopefully change next year after the BBC get Match of the Day back.

That is good news
Sky get second choice on ties I think, so the BBC pick the big clubs as competition to ITV
