I can't believe it Man U at Home bring it on! This is my first post and what a way to start!!!!!!!!!!!! U Reds

I have never had so much attention from people in the office. Suddenly it's fashionable to be a Bees fan. All these armchair Premiershite fans have been listening with awe the tales from Saturday sat in the home end. With a bit of luck all of this attention will bring a few more Bees fans down to GP.

It should not even be a consideration to play this anywhere else other than GP. That day would be totally unbelievable. I really am shaking just thinking about it.

The extra revenue Stamford Bridge would give us would never outweigh the repayment that such a night would offer to the fans. We would put up the fight of our lives.

However I honestly think the 2nd biggest fight of our lives comes a week tomorrow. Make no mistake that we are going to have to play out of our skins to get there.

Bees. I salute you already. :D

I think you maybe talking about the London War Cup - we beat Portsmouth in the final (I think).

Manchester United supporters will approach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to manage a breakaway club if Malcolm Glazer's £800m bid to takeover at Old Trafford is successful.

A coalition of fans committed to keeping United out of the American's hands have revived contingency plans first drawn up in 1998 when the club was the subject of a bid from BSkyB and intend to draw on the support of members of the Independent Manchester United Supporters Association (IMUSA) and 20,000-strong pressure group Shareholders United (SU).

Solskjaer, currently recovering from a knee injury, has publicly voiced his disapproval to Glazer's bid and was last week unveiled as a patron of SU.

A blueprint for the new team with the working title of 'FC United', which is to be revealed in fanzine 'Red Issue' this week outlines how in the event of a takeover fans will boycott a Glazer-owned United and switch support to a Manchester-based club that would begin life in the North West Counties League - 10 levels below the Premiership.

Talks have already begun with United legend Eric Cantona about assuming a playing role for FC United, which would be owned by a democratically-run supporters' trust.

An FC United source said: "The plans will only be implemented in the event Glazer manages to force through his takeover and until that happens, everyone involved will do their damnedest to prevent it.

"For now, Manchester United is still our club, and it's the fervent hope of everyone that it remains so. However, announcing this now is to show both United fans and Glazer that we won't simply roll over and accept the fact should he ever defeat the opposition.

"Once the club has been founded moves will be made to attract personalities sympathetic to the cause. Following the patronage of Shareholders United by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the support of Eric Cantona in the 'Not For Sale' campaign, both would be approached in the belief that they would accept playing/managerial positions."

Those behind FC United have taken advice from supporters of AFC Wimbledon who founded their club after Wimbledon were moved to Milton Keynes and re-branded as 'MK Dons'. They are keen to point out that while AFC Wimbledon attract crowds of around 3,000 FC United could expect support on a much larger scale.

"It was only last month that we were exposed to the warming tale of Exeter City, whilst the achievements of AFC Wimbledon and its supporters are the ultimate inspiration," the source added.

Well I for one am still determined to get in a good old fashioned complaint. I'd been looking forward to a glamourous away day. Do you realise, with our limited capacity, and all matches being on TV anyway, we would have made more money out of a tie away to Burnley than this.

listening to the draw in your lecture is not a good idea...as i was going crazy not being able to shout and scream or tell anyone, didnt concentrate for the rest of the lecture and ran out the room telling anyone and everyone who we got, not that most of them cared.

it took me a while to actually calm down and stop shaking. lol

The possibility of seeing Man utd at GP followed by Mercury rev at the Hammersmith Apollo all on the same day is far too much excitement for an old bastard like me.

I'm a little concerned of all this talk of Man Utd.....we do have the small matter of beating a Premiership team first! As someone at work said today, you only get one go to beat a Prem team.....I told him that we'd wait and see!

But I think all talk of Man U should be banned....and Soton for that matter. Six points against fellow playoff teams would do nicely first.

my word! this is going to have one of two reactions obviously isn't it: either the players and fans get distracted and form goes belly up OR they become inspired and on their toes for the chance of missing out (am obviously talking about the SAINTS replay) - and then worrying about the Man U game.

Brilliant draw in anticipation yes (must be fate as i recall we were drawn at home to Man U in the rehersal for the draw after the Hinckley game (when we then drew Luton away....) but have to beat southampton first (not easy) and also more importantly pick up not less than 4 points in next 2 games.

we are so beautifully positioned for a play-off spot (if not better - now that is wishful thinking at this stage!) i would be sick if we didn't make it.

this is also a fantastic boost for the finances (how else could we afford to fly a loan player up to Newcastle!?!?).

But (and this is a BIG BUT) I think we all should (and if you don't you ain't getting no tickets!) remember the FA Cup match v Oldham a few years back. Drew at their place and then drew Chelsea - "easy", we all though and then lost the replay. SO BEEWARE!

Don't get too cocky folks, bear in mind most of us Saints fans had you guys written off last week and that particular assumption came back to bite us in the ass.

To borrow a heavily used football cliche, 'one game at a time' eh? ;)

anyway, I want to go back to Cardiff again and I don't want you lot or those pesky Mancs to spoil it for me.

We're not getting cocky, NTKM - after all, what with you being a Premier League club, you should have no trouble beating us in the replay, even though you failed at the first attempt. It's just nice for us Bees fans to be as close as this to playing ManUre (almost a dream really), whereas for the likes of you, it's already a twice-a-season event!

So please forgive us if we dream - but you never know, a week today might just be a nightmare for you guys!

To be honest, I am facing a dilemma, I was hoping Manure would be in the FA cup final and would then rest their team in the last game of the season (away to Saints) so I would probably rather get knocked out away to your lot than beat them at home in the next round... or even get beat by them in the next round (lets face it I get to watch us lose to MAnure a fair bit so I think I can live without an extra opportunity for disappointment).

Seriously, didn't want to **** on your chips, just didn't want you to get complacent ;)

Believe me, anyone that has supported Brentford for a few years, like I have, has learned not to be complacent about this club's results! If we fear the worst, anything else is a bonus! (although there is certainly a VERY positive feel about the club since MA arrived last season).

And, having drawn ManUre IF we beat you, it is not totally surprising that our fans, including myself, get very excited at the prospect. After all, it's not every day that a League One club is within touching distance of playing possibly the most famous club in the world, is it?

Pleasing FA cup draw

May i say how pleasing it was watching the FA cup draw yesterday in my break at college alongside supporters of Chelski, Foolham, qphaha, What?ford and Liverfool and being the only one with a actual real vested interest ;) it made my day!!!

Especially as my dad supports qphaha, it makes life at home great at the mo, you can often slip in comments refering to how there so called 'big club' clearly isnt so big as they thought !!!!

This is a good shout, we will do you a favour and avoid you seeing Saints get beat by Man Ure 3 times this season by facing them ourselves. Good point today, sounds like smithy had a good game.

It wasn't that good, watched it on an internet feed and it was two poor teams playing, we were slightly less poor than them and should have scored 2 sitters, I think we may rue those missed chances come the end of the season and with us playing the gooners on sat while Palace play Brum I fear we may be cut 5 points adrift come Sat teatime.

Smith played OK, hardly had much to do to be honest but seemed pretty confident.
