They were Wise's words - not his. I would suspect that he was looking for more money than we wanted to pay for a player who managed a few games for a relegated side that he joined after failing to break into the QPR side.

If you read the quote Wise is saying that he (Brown) thinks he could get a better club than Brentford so I assume he had said as much for Wise to be able to say such a thing

What an arse! Joining a 'big club' is i think code for not wanting to join a club with financial difficulties. Bloody Martin Allen has done us far more damage by promulgating this part-fact part-rumour than anything he could have done out on the pitch. I fear that there are players 'out there' who would not touch us with a 10-foot battle lance simply because they would be worried that we could not pay their wages come January.

Didn't impress at Torquay on loan, Cheltenham cut his loan spell short, Rangers didn't rate him, Bristol City fans don't really rate him either...

Not bothered that much really, the general opinion of Brown is that he has talent but has problems with consistency.
