Yes that is probably right but i see little point in signing a player who may or may not help us finish 8th instead of 10th. :shrug:

If we're going for a Steve Howard type player... How about, erm, Steve Howard?
Yes, i know he earns more in a week than a lot of us do all year, but on the bench at best for Leicester these days. Behind Nugent, Beckford, the Schluppmeister and probably others I'm forgetting about. Do we still have links with the Foxes? I know we might have nicked Jack Warburton from them, but after Jeffrey and Bungle (neilsson) i thought maybe Warbs Senior could ask for the loan of their big man?
In all seriousness I'm not against another loan to see us til May and Wilbraham would probably do a good job. At least that would imply we're still going for it. Got a lot of catching up to do but IF we win every game we've got left we could still make the playoffs.

I would love to get Steve Howard, but he's actually been involved as a sub in recent Leicester matches. I really don't see him or Schlupp being loaned out right now.
And his wages would make Sheffield Utd, Wednesday or Huddersfield a more likely destination if he were to go out.

I admire your optimism guys and i hadnt given up until saturday but look at Notts County at Charlton and Stevenage in their last 3 games. Those sides have the boll0cks needed to succeed and are more consistent than us. We just dont have it im afraid compared to the other clubs going for it and although i dont want the season to fizzle out i think it will. I understand the club have a duty to the fans to keep fighting but im happy (well not happy but you know what i mean) to lose this battle, regroup, gain strength over the summer with greater finance (if we dont "waste" new funds on this season) and hopefully next season win the war that is promotion.

He's not exactly prolific, scored only 3 league goals last season in 22 appearances for Norwich and MK.

Unlikely to happen really. If hes making apparently impressive sub appearences in the prem then i imagine he will go to a championship club. Great if it comes off but i doubt it very much as championship clubs can probably pay a bigger % of his wages and if hes to make an impression for Norwich to keep him hes better off doing this in a league above ours. Can see him going to Watford or someone of that calibre..

We have 12 games left. AW is not a prolific goalscorer & never has been, although he is effective as a target man.
I would be underwhelmed if we paid big money for someone who is unlikely to score more than 3 goals for us (we need goals), is 32 yo and unlikely to join us in the future.

Aim for another top twelve finish and build for next season. Getting into the playoffs is one thing, but how are we supposed to go to Wembley and win? A top two finish is what we need to go up.

While it would be very nice to sign a striker who will score us 2 goals a game, we actually need a centre forward with a serious physical presence who can give defenders something to think about, hold the ball up and bring in Saido and advancing midfielders.

I think I'd take the striker who scores 2 goals every game, making the rest unnecessary.

When we get promoted I want it to be at the end of a memorable season.
This has been anything but that. We haven't won more than two league games in a row all season.
Really, use the remaining games to give first team experience to the likes of Reeves. Experiment to find a formation/combination that can score goals.
We'd embarrass ourselves next season in the Championship with this side.

Your post dont make any sense to me. First of all you state you want promotion after a memorable season. Well I have news for you, if we ever go up it will be memorable. As for bleeding players for the rest of the season, you mention ONE player. I agree with you over one thing though,the present team is as you say not good enuff for the championship.I am expecting major changes during the summer whether we go up or not. Let's be honest we have players who imo are not even good enough for division one.

Same one who was at Hull years back but was more a winger?
Not thought of very highly by them at the time but was a number of years ago and seems to have changed to a more advanced role these days.
Can't say I recall anything Ive seen of him but we shall see what's what.
