Theres also a few people who think they know a lot more about the club than others or are on the "inside" and enjoy shooting people down for asking honest questions simply because they do not have the relative experience or knowledge to "justify" these questions. Because of this I know I have been put off posting more and im sure others have. Also Brentford have a range of chants, have a new kit, but as of yet do not have new owners so what more is there to discuss that what has already been said.
As the Anointed High PriestKing of the GPG's hallowed site news and views forum I am gratified you have brought this to my personal attention.
I do occasionally venture out into General Bees Discussion and have seen examples of this behaviour. Legitimate criticism or observations can incur unnecessary wrath from those who feel slighted. However mostly I would blame this on the cretinous ill-informed nonsensical crap posted by those posters who are new to the site and are not privy to the knowledge held by the 'Circle of the 20'
You have touched on some important points there.
Let us hope some PR lessons have been learnt and/or that one or two individuals have invested in a Summer course at Charm School!
It would be a shame if folk like you were deterred from asking important questions about vital aspects of our club.
Wasn't it Saint Paul who once said that you should be true unto yourself and verily if you are a loud obnoxious **** in real life then verily you should be a loud obnoxious **** on the interweb? Tis a greater sin for a man to attempt to piss through a camels eye onto a needle? Isn't it GEOFBEE? hmmm?
have made similar points to this in the past and have been subsequently ripped to shreads on here. ive been going to GP for 25 years and have an extensive knowledge of all things bees but im not part of the 'inner sanctum' and therefore am ridiculed time and again on these very boards which is a shame as it has become a closed shop with 10-20 of the same members doing all the posting
I think you're over egging the pudding with the 'time and again' stuff. I will commence an internal investigation if you feel genuinely that you have been abused by any of the 'Circle of the 20'. The GPG is only the sum of its parts and all should feel welcome to post
Some people have incredibly thin skins.
lol out of curiosity how many times a day do you think that?
I think I can name the dirty 20.....
but I won't because I will just be ridiculed and I am not part of the clique that runs the club
I did once name all the people who knew everything, but my post was deleted by a mod....::
You know the 'Circle of the 20' need the mystique
I bully my wife and often hold her down on the floor until she begs for forgiveness, that's sort of ok isn't it?
Yes
Great I have my own thread. Its not a complaint more of an observation, que the name being changed to Adams Observation.
I think seeing as it's in here I may just be able to do that. But maybe not.
i have just got a pm from adam. he listed markbfc, greenholme bee, banana, abee, brickie chap as 5 of the top ten, but would not say in what order.
adam has provided the other names to me and he is spot on. I am in the process of banning everyone with too many posts in General Bees Discussion just to mix it up a bit.
In life you will come across a lot of ****s... especially on web-based football chat forums.
CAMUS
Yes, but I think the quote is originally attributable to Cicero.
I cant believe some of you think you deserve to know anything
lol
Adam has made a good point.
The GPG Is the dogs dangglies and although moderated to avery high standard, it has long been my view that the ratio of lerkers to posters needs to be changed and that more tolerance is required when people, especially newbies post some thing that might be obvious or common knowledge to others.
I sort of agree, but at the same time I can see why people get ****ed off when you get completely leftfield criticism of the club or BU or BIAS that has no basis in fact and I am not surprised that some people get shouty. I think it was King David of the Jews who once said 'post stuff on the interweb as if the person you are posting to is standing in front of you with a glass of honey mead'. If you came up to me in a pub and told me of your desire to a) merge with QPR, b) regionalise the leagues or c) why is BU standing in the way of all the free money? I would like to think that my response would be much the same as it would be on here. though I am of course divine and infallible.
indeed, blunstone comes out with some terrible posts at the best of times but that doesn't stop her/him from posting even more dribble, it's all about opinions at the end of the day. who ever is in the know makes this website what it is, as it brings news us less fortunate ones but isn't all footy webstes the same so the gpg is no different. who remembers that I was slaughtered over me saying we should sign DJ Champbell, I had the last laugh at the end of the day. it's just the way the cookie crumbles
I think its an extremely valid point put forward Adam, I am relatively new to GPG - but that does not mean I am new to supporting Brentford. After voyuering GPG for a few years I decided to join up and share my views on the club we love.
I think peoples opinions on GPG are sometimes weighted on how many posts per day the poster has or the date joined rather then the quality of the argument or point put forward.
I think the information that some of the "magic circle" post on here is brilliant and priceless ... however the way people are corrected or dismissed by a few of the fore mentioned people is not brilliant at all.
<3
Let me get this straight, You perform some sort of ratio analysis over the number of posts to determine the validitiy of an opinion? Or you think other people do?
I need some examples here. Bring me some cold hard evidence of these cruel dismissals and we shall HAVE JUSTICE. It'll be like the infamous 'clowngate' trial of Markbfc all over again.
just stick two fingers up to everyone, that'll start pi$$ing them off!
if people take what's said on here seriously, then they need to get out more, i know i need to !
my general point being that if you are not a 'regular' on here you get a negative reaction, granted i cannot name a specific time or date but i can assure you i have certainly felt alienated when posting ever since i joined (im obviously not alone), i dont see why this is the case as i am a regular at GP and have as much right to post as anyone. anyway now i feel that raising this point is causing exactly the reaction i was complaining about in the first place. im not posting this opinion because im mortally wounded by all this but simply because i fell its a shame that genuine bees fans are put off of posting because of the reaction of a few
the GPG needs lots of different people to post or it will get sh*t. I enjoy the posts of a wide variety of characters and it is a large source of my personal amusement requirements. If the GPG spoke with one voice it would be very dull, and a lot of people on here are very good at taking the piss. I think it's unlikely that anyobdy will ever be able to express an opinion on here while everyone else politely applauds and I think it would be a shame if that were the case.
However it's clear that some GPG members feel it goes too far and are therefore not keen on posting, a genuine shame  However I need some examples before we can start the process of bringing justice unto the offenders.
Incidentally you mention that this thread is an example of what you are talking about, but all I see is pissjapery and verbal frolicking?
I have to admit that when I go to check the GPG in the morning and there's a 3 page thread in Site News and Views I get a little moist.
That's normal isn't it?
No
