All the best Alan :sorted:

Great news. Come on Bees

Give AS his due, when he sees a problem (central defence last Tuesday) he does act quickly to sort it out.

Surely this problem started when Heywood went off injured at Chesterfield...not on Tuesday :sorted:

is that 7 loans now....?

.........................waiting for Gordon......................

Alan Bennett thread

Welcome aboard Alan, and well done to AS.

Alan Bennett thread

Bennett was on loan at Southampton earlier this year.

No Bookings this season

6 foot 2
Eyes of Blue
Favourite Cheese - Manchego

I think AS has done well here. One question - although there's a limit on the number of loanees you can have in the team at one time, isn't there also a limit on the number of short- and long-term loanees you can have in a season? Where does this leave us?

markbfc - any idea?

Alan Bennett thread

Unbelievably good signing - this guy has played 3 times for the senior Ireland side and his last loan spell was with Southampton! Shame it's too late for our playoff push but he will improve the defence beyond recognition.

good loan signing...must mean heywood out for the season...hopefully get rid of the fulham sh*te we have.......

Alan Bennett thread

Some are expiring soon remember.

Milsom's month is up early next week, Stone's second month is up soon IIRC and Sankofa went off injured on Tuesday according to AS afterwards.

We will have seven on loan but presumably not for long.

Injured, my arse. He was crap and deserved to be dragged off. It's not a difficult one this, Sankofa and Brown can happily be left out as they haven't done enough to get in, including prior to Tuesday's debacle. AS should bust his b***ocks to get Stone some more if possible within the rules.
Good signing though, AS doesn't mess about. Butcher would have been too busy telling Capello that Beckham's a genius, Lampard's the answer at left back and Ashley Cole should play wide right to bother actually getting a desperately needed defender.
Credit to Reading also for taking time out from their critical time to provide another loanee.

I assume that Sankofa will be returning to Charlton in this case so that leaves 6. Not that it matters as you can only have 5 in the matchday squad.

Don't now much about him, but it would seem to be a good addition to the squad. Thank god Reading are co-operative.

reading are very good to us ... mind you, they've done well out of us over the past five years too.

Just been speaking with a Southampton season ticket holder I work with and he says that when he first came to Saints at the start of the season he was thrown in at the deep end a bit with a makeshift defence due to injuries & suspensions. He played a couple of games and apparantly struggled big time and was then left out for a couple of months. Then got back in when the centre halfs were injured again and was like a new player. Seemed to have found his confidence and at the end of his loan period he was raving about him and said he wished his loan would have been extended. His opinion is that he doubts he will ever make it in the Premiership but was certainly competatnt for Championship level. Sounds promising.

Any chance of him coming here permantley? Seriously sounds like a good pedgiree and if we could get him and Hamer, we could build a really good team here.

Alan Bennett thread

He seems like a good loan signing. AS knew what was needed and sorted it out. Well done again AS.

I can see Milsom returning (good player in parts) along with Sankofa, if he is injured. Although i'd prefer to keep Stone and let Brown go back to Fulham. Milsom, Sankofa and Brown maybe be better 'footballers' but Stone's attributes in that he wins the ball and sticks to his holding position well, is what we need right now. (although i did slag him off as a Div3/4 player whereas the others are better footballers!!)

lets see the fella play first !

Plenty of players have come to GP with a good pedegree.....and flopped

Alan Bennett thread

good luck mr noseybonk :owusu:

Alan Bennett thread

er............... are you betting your arse then? Northampton Bee might be a taker for this bet :)
Sankofa was injured on Tuesday in the same way that Lewis Emmanuel was lost. Injured pride, perhaps.
And I'd gladly take NB on at a bit of greased wrestling ;)

Alan Bennett thread

If Sankofa's foot injury (caused, I think, by a Chesterfield stamp on it) is one of those requiring an operation, then he'll probably go back, keeping the number at 6.

I think there may be a difference in treatment between loanees that will go back because their club want them and loanees that AS may want to sign when they are free agents.

Anyway, I hope he's vocal and can keep Karleigh on a string and tighten up at the back... if you see what I mean!

While Matt needs as much rest as possible, I really hope he's in with Karleigh, Mous, Dickson and the lads and is acting as a bit of an unofficial temporary defensive coach. He may not be able to play but his leadership skills seem to be invaluable.

Rep of Ireland Internationals reduced to League 2 level

Shame we couldn't get Sidwell and Shevchenko on loan for a month :D

:nono: Wouldn't want to borrow a moody, inconsistent attacker who wants the ball played to him absolutely perfectly or he stops running and plays like he thinks the world owes him everything and is massively overpaid given that he's been off the boil for years. Sidwell would be good though :)

Agreed, we've had enough of them at BFC.:D

Has it not occurred to you that the reason he was so crap when previously he'd been fine was that he was playing with an injury?
