I hope you're right, although will wait before being as positive.

Can't find any reviews and can't get hold of my mate who is Saints S/T holder. However I'll be pleasantly surprised if someone with only 10 games to their names can add assurance, calmness, and quality. What I'd settle for is that someone who adds height, power, and lets centre forwards know he's there.

Still a good move getting someone rather than shuffling the pack

That's my point Les, I don't know anything about him but am assuming he'll be strong and competitive, in Irish football it's a pre requisite as it's very physical.

I dont know about you but everybody i talk to to seems to be p$ssed off with loan players.Everybody wants a team to just drive us up the league.We all want that!...but when things are down there down.I would give anything to get out of this league as i'm sure you would,and if AS hasn't got no money then thats it!..loan players it is..if it does the job for this division then so be it

Just been speaking with a Southampton season ticket holder I work with and he says that when he first came to Saints at the start of the season he was thrown in at the deep end a bit with a makeshift defence due to injuries & suspensions. He played a couple of games and apparantly struggled big time and was then left out for a couple of months. Then got back in when the centre halfs were injured again and was like a new player. Seemed to have found his confidence and at the end of his loan period he was raving about him and said he wished his loan would have been extended. His opinion is that he doubts he will ever make it in the Premiership but was certainly competatnt for Championship level. Sounds promising.

I heard exactly the same from a mate of mine who is a season ticket holder at Southampton. He wanted him to extend his loan, despite the bad start he had, rates him as a decent defender, at a level 2 divs above us. So hopefully if he can handle the scrapping and organise the defence a bit could be a very decent signing.

Very good player, good in the air, not slow and can use his feet. Liked the way he talked the whole game and organised every set piece in our half and in theirs.

I don't think he gave one foul away either.

He really was very good today, was very aware of all around him, can't remember him doing anything dodgy and was very reliable, this is one of our better loan signings of late, well done Andy Scott, he will prove to be a very good replacement for Matty me thinks

Great debut. Never easy to come into a team in the middle of a wobble, but he acquited himself excellently and really steadied the back line. Karleigh looked far more comfortable playing along side him too - allowed him to concentrate on his own game rather than worrying about the bloke next to him. Great stuff.

I think we need to be realistic.

Bennett is an Irish internationla who has impressed playing in The Championshi this year. A permanent signing is pretty much out of the question.

I think you're right and Macclesfield are on their way back to Blue Square. If Bennett is the real deal and Reading offload he's likely to be able to command a long deal on better money at a league 1 club at worst.
If Heywood is on the money mentioned it's too much for a division 4 player when we can use the budget on two players and trust that AS can find a replacement.
